2544-2548: another 5 items to the bin.

Hi all, another bag of garden waste into the green bin and it is full to the brim ready to be collected on Tuesday. I had a quick look in lovely neighbour's bin and there is room for about half a bag so I will top that up tomorrow but as I had a full bag I loaded up the car with the rest of lovely neighbour's broken plastic storage container and took it to the tip with the garden waste. Still working on using up some stores and today I made a baked orzo dish with chickpeas and tomatoes so 2 more tins gone , there is enough lo for lunch tomorrow and we had the lo rhubarb crumble for pud. Sorting through the banana boxes I have a few table cloths and cloth place mats and I have made a space for them in the airing cupboard. They're not in there yet, job for tomorrow. Quick trip to the sm for milk today and there seems to be a shortage of skimmed milk, I had to go to 3 shops to get it, lots of other milk but not skim, is anyone else seeing this?

2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.

3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉

4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed 

Back again as I am determined to catch up on the cheerleading 😉 

I think we were both relieved QueenJess 😅 Especially as the rucksack contained many of his special logo motorcycle T-shirts 😥 Sorry to hear that work is busy & ‘unenjoyable’ ☹️ Please try not to get too stressed about the decluttering 🙏 if you can set aside 15 minutes on workdays to keep things tidy then you should feel very proud of yourself 👏

Siebrie, the medical insurance in Belgium does sound very complicated 😬 You might not have found the log in details but at least you got to do some decluttering 😉 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for dealing with so many frogs 👏 As to the new washing machine - 4 months old & needing repair 😖 I am with you Siebrie - paper records are far more preferable to digital records. A good old fashioned paperwork binder that you can flick through & find what you want is so much less stressful than trawling through digital records 🙂

Ashamed to say that I am a bit jealous that you can cope with both physical & digital paperwork, DuranGirl 😔 you sound like my DH who is quite well organised with both 😉

2582-2584: 2 bags of rubbish and some cardboard to the bins outside.

Will need to concentrate on sorting access to the cupboard at the top of the stairs and all sockets and switches for some unspecified day next week for the 5 yearly electrics check. Given I live in an attic, all the sockets are in the eaves (less than a metre/yard high) so electrician will need space in front of the sockets to access them. going to be interesting...!

@QueenJess great tip for recycling Jewellery. Do you happen to know if it includes costume jewellery as well? Plus I used to collect stamps for a different charity but they have stopped taking them so it looks like I have somewhere to send them again.
Shredded some old utility bills this morning as I needed to take in a proof of address to the solicitor. Realised that having bills 15 years old is a bit much. Couldn’t find my passport for photo ID so assumed my driving licence was my purse where it normally is…it wasn’t🤷🏼‍♀️. Managed to use my railcard on my phone for identity. So when I got back my friend who was coming over was late due to traffic so a whole drawer cleared looking for passport and driving licence. Found my passport but my driving licence remains in my “safe place” where I hid it prior to going on holiday🤦‍♀️. Will look again tomorrow

Was at an all day Team meeting with an organisation I freelance for.  It's been sooooooo long since we did an in-person meeting and it was such a delight reconnecting with colleagues and meeting members of the Team who joined during lockdown.  It felt like "the before times..." and that made me extremely happy.   And what added to that is that when I got home I found that Steptoe & Son (that made me laugh @Mrs SD) had collected all the scrap metal that I had put out!

Back again 😉 DH has filled the bird & squirrel feeders & has put ground cinnamon in the wormery to hopefully get rid of the ants nest 🤞

vulpix, I think making the effort to look at situations positively can be so much more uplifting & is a great way to keep stress manageable 🙂 and the more you practice turning negatives into positives the easier it becomes for your first thought to be positive 🤞🙂 What a wonderful gift - a hand made wooden platter beautiful 🤩

Yes it does include costume jewellery and even broken items. It’s fab. You can wait for them to send you a free post Jiffy bag, but I just use one of the million I have to hand and post it to them using the address on that page.

Stamps I had a page for somewhere as I have been saving them… will post if I find it. Old bras you can send to breast cancer research as well. Basically you can find somewhere for almost anything if you look hard enough!

Yes benign neglect is completely my gardening style. Plants have two choices in my house and garden Mrs SD…live or die. 😉 That said I try not to put them in impossible situations where they’ll struggle with the conditions but that’s pretty much the level of pandering to they get, beyond watering if it hasn’t rained for ages and a dose of plant food when I remember. 😉 

Plumber came and did his jobs. Had a lovely natter too catching up on stuff and then looked at what can be done to upgrade ‘the worlds smallest toilet’. 

The bath panel is still a work in progress….but progressing. 

Messaged the floor fitter and asked him to pop round next time he’s in my neck of the woods to look at the flooring in ‘the worlds smallest toilet’. 

May message the plasterer in the next couple of days if I’m feeling reckless! (So rock and roll.)

Evening

Today i delivered my final bag to the CS - this was the last bag following my big declutter of my bedroom (which is still a haven of peace and tranquility
Mrs S_D - i only took this bag on one drive to my work town - took it to the CS at lunch, drove home CS bagless 
Yesterday i finally met a friend and gave her birthday present to her - so that has gone from my dining table where it has been for 11 weeks (so i didn't forget to take it of course!)
