2544-2548: another 5 items to the bin.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Hi all, another bag of garden waste into the green bin and it is full to the brim ready to be collected on Tuesday. I had a quick look in lovely neighbour's bin and there is room for about half a bag so I will top that up tomorrow but as I had a full bag I loaded up the car with the rest of lovely neighbour's broken plastic storage container and took it to the tip with the garden waste. Still working on using up some stores and today I made a baked orzo dish with chickpeas and tomatoes so 2 more tins gone
, there is enough lo for lunch tomorrow and we had the lo rhubarb crumble for pud. Sorting through the banana boxes I have a few table cloths and cloth place mats and I have made a space for them in the airing cupboard. They're not in there yet, job for tomorrow. Quick trip to the sm for milk today and there seems to be a shortage of skimmed milk, I had to go to 3 shops to get it, lots of other milk but not skim, is anyone else seeing this?
Take care everyone5 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedBack again as I am determined to catch up on the cheerleading 😉
I think we were both relieved QueenJess 😅 Especially as the rucksack contained many of his special logo motorcycle T-shirts 😥 Sorry to hear that work is busy & ‘unenjoyable’ ☹️ Please try not to get too stressed about the decluttering 🙏 if you can set aside 15 minutes on workdays to keep things tidy then you should feel very proud of yourself 👏
What a lovely welcome back TC77 🙂 Sounds like a marvellous trip & now you have the photos you want - next task is to scan them 😉 Excellent work moving frogs along 👏
Great work short_bird 👏
Thanks for the rhubarb information florianatwobob - “benign neglect” 😂
So exciting EnergyShifter 😄 & just the impetus to start a new round of decluttering 😉 You have already made an excellent start 👏
oceanspirit, pleased to hear that you will moving back into your home quite soon. I am keeping everything crossed that the weather is kind so that you can clean/wash/dry as much as possible outdoors🤞 Is there anyone who can help you out for a while?
TripleH, shame about the shelving unit but at least you have something else that can be done👏😉
Great work teachergirl (even though you are suffering from lack of sleep) 👏 It is never too late to start counting - just need to decide on a figure 🙂 I must say that the numbering gives me the opportunity to make awards 😉
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 At least if it is just hand luggage there is less chance of losing it 😁
That is such good news EnergyShifter 🙂 Always a pleasure having work done by professional & courteous, respectful workmen 👏 The windows sound amazing 🤩 Excellent decluttering 👏
There must have been a lot of items in that chest of drawers, mhagster 😉 Very MSE using up lo paint 👏
Sunday’s dinner was cottage pie & fresh broccoli. Wudupa.
Monday started bright, sunny & warm but has quickly clouded over. Today is my last day of bone idleness 😉
894 - 895 Kitchen recycling & detritus
Good luck with the wardrobe decluttering & plans for the kitchen extension, 2Scratters 🍀 Exciting times ahead 🙂
Keep up the good work on dealing with frogs, TC77 👏
Well done on getting to the Tip with a full car Liverpool_Anne 👏 Helping a neighbour is far more important than doing anything off a list 😉😇 Hope all the washing dries🤞 Good luck with finding storage for the cake decorating stuff 🍀
weenancy, hopefully now you have caught up with the emails it should be easier to deal with on a monthly basis 🤞Was it the husky lending a hand with the decluttering?😉 No snow in L.A. ☹️ mind you we rarely see snow on the Isle of Dogs ☹️ Pleased to hear that you are finding time to continue working on various genealogy projects 👏 Hope the foot is better 🤞
Excellent decluttering mhagster 👏 You have been very busy 👏
Excellent work teachergirl 👏 You are really getting into the swing of decluttering & your 30 minute sessions are working well 🙂 End of an era re your mil’s house no wonder you have mixed emotions ☹️🙂
Great work 2Scratters 👏 & pleased to hear that the decluttering bug is finally infecting your DH 😉
Great work short_bird 👏 Everything crossed that the meter readings do reduce the DD amount 🤞
Very MSE Floss 👏 & looks great 😌
So pleased you enjoyed the holiday tales & photos Fizz2015 🙂 However very sorry to learn that work is impinging on all aspects of your life ☹️ The date day with OH sounds lovely 😊 Glad to hear that, although expensive, the visits to the chiropractor are making a difference 🙂
Great work EnergyShifter 👏
You are very welcome DuranGirl 🙂 Just sorry I am being a bit slow in catching up with the cheerleading 😉 What a good result with your mum - one medal 🏅 for her & one medal 🏅 for you 👏
Siebrie, the medical insurance in Belgium does sound very complicated 😬 You might not have found the log in details but at least you got to do some decluttering 😉 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for dealing with so many frogs 👏 As to the new washing machine - 4 months old & needing repair 😖 I am with you Siebrie - paper records are far more preferable to digital records. A good old fashioned paperwork binder that you can flick through & find what you want is so much less stressful than trawling through digital records 🙂
Ashamed to say that I am a bit jealous that you can cope with both physical & digital paperwork, DuranGirl 😔 you sound like my DH who is quite well organised with both 😉
Great work sorting your herbs, spices & cake stuff Liverpool_Anne 👏 Thanks for the information re washing machines - useful but annoying that problems are being inbuilt by the manufacturers 😖
Floss, seems like being a PA is a useful profession when it comes to being organised 😉
Sorry to hear about your friend’s son getting Covid, oceanspirit ☹️ Hopefully it will be a mild case 🤞
EnergyShifter, Great news that the windows are finished 👏 & that the workmen helped you move the scrap metal to the front garden 🙂 Hopefully Steptoe & son will collect quickly 🤞 Please take it easy with the cleaning & returning everything to its rightful place especially as you are so tired 🙏
Siebrie, another PA - no wonder you are so well organised 👏🙂 Not too sure I would be quite so sanguine about the paperwork & filing situation if it was my husband 😉 🙃
I am slowly catching up with the cheerleading but am going to take a break for a while 😉 See you all later 👋

Will need to concentrate on sorting access to the cupboard at the top of the stairs and all sockets and switches for some unspecified day next week for the 5 yearly electrics check. Given I live in an attic, all the sockets are in the eaves (less than a metre/yard high) so electrician will need space in front of the sockets to access them. going to be interesting...!‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

@QueenJess great tip for recycling Jewellery. Do you happen to know if it includes costume jewellery as well? Plus I used to collect stamps for a different charity but they have stopped taking them so it looks like I have somewhere to send them again.
Shredded some old utility bills this morning as I needed to take in a proof of address to the solicitor. Realised that having bills 15 years old is a bit much. Couldn’t find my passport for photo ID so assumed my driving licence was my purse where it normally is…it wasn’t🤷🏼♀️. Managed to use my railcard on my phone for identity. So when I got back my friend who was coming over was late due to traffic so a whole drawer cleared looking for passport and driving licence. Found my passport but my driving licence remains in my “safe place” where I hid it prior to going on holiday🤦♀️. Will look again tomorrowEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D8 -

4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedBack again 😉 DH has filled the bird & squirrel feeders & has put ground cinnamon in the wormery to hopefully get rid of the ants nest 🤞
Keep up the good work TC77 🙂 Seems to take forever to arrange anything nowadays 😔
Kind of you to say so vulpix 🙂 Sounds like you need a techie to get you back into your emails 😉 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for having used up all your wool 👏 I love the idea of ‘recklessly throwing things away’ 😂 Sorry that the work is taking so long & that there is so much to do ☹️ before you can get to the gardening that you love to do
You are welcome marrob 🙂 Gold stars are just the bonus for successful decluttering & clear spaces 👏 I am loving the paper v digital debate 😉 - not sure if it is an age thing or just having something tangible to hold but I come down heavily in favour of paper 😅 Excellent decluttering 👏 + fingers crossed that your DH keeps up the good work with digital decluttering 🤞& that it translates into garage/workshop decluttering - one can but hope 😉
vulpix, I think making the effort to look at situations positively can be so much more uplifting & is a great way to keep stress manageable 🙂 and the more you practice turning negatives into positives the easier it becomes for your first thought to be positive 🤞🙂 What a wonderful gift - a hand made wooden platter beautiful 🤩
weenancy, very pleased to hear that your blood test results were so positive 🙂 but sorry to hear that you have been in the wars - finger, foot, toe & calf 😣 Sorry to hear that Covid is making a comeback & fingers crossed that your enforced restriction to home means that you can stay negative 🤞 I am constantly amazed at how you turn what could be a negative (not being able to move around much) into a positive (doing lots of research & paperwork) 🤩
Good job I was sitting down Deni_debt-free_dreamer or I might have fallen over reading about taking your CS bags for nice drives 🤣 Well done on finally delivering the bags to the CS 👏
teachergirl hopefully you saw the post (wudupa = wash up, dry up, put away) That certainly was a productive early morning - well done 👏
QueenJess, hope the work will be suitably financially rewarded 🤞 I have to disagree with you - the amount of decluttering you fitted in 👏I am surprised you didn’t meet yourself coming back 😉
Excellent work getting all the washing done & line dried Liverpool_Anne 👏 Shame about having to cancel your trip to London but two five hour coach journeys + the expense of a room doesn’t leave much time to relax/sightsee or even enjoy yourself ☹️ Hope you still have some rhubarb crumble left - I will be around later with some Cornish ice cream 😉
Floss, I agree with TC77 - you are very good with recommendations 👏
TC77, you are setting yourself up for lots of work - a major overhaul of digital records & your life 😬Perhaps a visit to the TLC Carriage would be more welcome 🙂 I would join you but I need to finish the cheerleading 😉😉 Excellent decluttering & dealing with frogs 👏
Sounds like hard work QueenJess 😔
You are so talented vulpix 🙂 Good luck with your quilting 🍀 Growing kiwis 🤩
Major building project & once completed you will have a wonderful investment 👏
I laughed out loud at “orchid killer years” florianatwobob 🤣 but I see you have moved on to “orchid nurturer” 🙂 What a lovely picture of a beautiful orchid ☺️
Thanks weenancy - when I was feeding our local ducks, coots etc I used to feed them bird seed & ys lettuce.
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Re make up, I got rid of all mine a few years ago then treated myself to some new make up for my 60th. Now ask me how often I have worn any makeup since November 2019 😉😉😉😉 You got it - just the once 😂 It least it shouldn’t have gone off having only been open for a short amount of time 🤞
What a good result Liverpool_Anne 👏
So benign neglect works for orchids as well as rhubarb. My sort of gardening florianatwobob 🙂Thanks for the gardening tutorial 👏, I might be tempted to give orchids a try in the not too distant future once I have sorted everything else out 😉
TC77, that’s the trouble with paperwork - you spend ages sorting it all out & promising yourself that you will keep on top of it then RL gets in the way 😔
However you are doing a grand job so far 👏
otb66, I hope your hubby buys canned food that you like 😉 Any chance of using/hiding it in his food 🙃
Very MSE TC77 👏
Doubt you will swap out MrV, vulpix after all it has taken years to train him 😂 Sadly there is never enough big & obvious stuff to move on/out 😔 & it is always the smaller items that trip us up/take so much time to sort out. Good luck with the car boot 🍀 Very impressed that you are using up the last of your fabric stash having used up your wool stash 👏
As I post this I have 18 posts left to cheerlead 🤞

It’s fab. You can wait for them to send you a free post Jiffy bag, but I just use one of the million I have to hand and post it to them using the address on that page.
Stamps I had a page for somewhere as I have been saving them… will post if I find it. Old bras you can send to breast cancer research as well. Basically you can find somewhere for almost anything if you look hard enough!

Yes benign neglect is completely my gardening style. Plants have two choices in my house and garden Mrs SD…live or die. 😉 That said I try not to put them in impossible situations where they’ll struggle with the conditions but that’s pretty much the level of pandering to they get, beyond watering if it hasn’t rained for ages and a dose of plant food when I remember. 😉
Plumber came and did his jobs. Had a lovely natter too catching up on stuff and then looked at what can be done to upgrade ‘the worlds smallest toilet’.The bath panel is still a work in progress….but progressing.Messaged the floor fitter and asked him to pop round next time he’s in my neck of the woods to look at the flooring in ‘the worlds smallest toilet’.May message the plasterer in the next couple of days if I’m feeling reckless! Evening
Today i delivered my final bag to the CS - this was the last bag following my big declutter of my bedroom (which is still a haven of peace and tranquility
Mrs S_D - i only took this bag on one drive to my work town - took it to the CS at lunch, drove home CS bagless
Yesterday i finally met a friend and gave her birthday present to her - so that has gone from my dining table where it has been for 11 weeks (so i didn't forget to take it of course!)
