2022 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD

Hi all, for some reason I haven't been able to log in for a couple of days
so I will probably forget something but here goes. The plastic tubs and lids were sorted and 11 random kids into the bin, a couple of random lidless tubs
put to one side to be used to ping beans so they don't all turn orange and the rest are paired up and stored properly. The green waste bins were emptied yesterday so I will be back in the garden today. I have a bstd bramble that I have been battleing with for over 2 years now, cutting and digging, and it just pops up again. It was seeded by a passing bird visiting the bird table but I didn't notice it for a while as it was under a very big buddleia covered in my climbing rose and it wasn't until it appeared through the top I realised what it was. This year it has made a bid for world domination and I am finding it all over the place. I quite like a bit of a wild garden as I do get lots of birds and butterflies but I am going to have to be ruthless to get this sorted. I have started another pile of stuff to go to the tip including a dead bird feeder that had done sterling work for about 20 years but has snapped in half.
The tablecloths were sorted through and a few put through the wash to freshen them up and the rest put away. I do have some more somewhere but where exactly escapes me at the moment
I found a moth in my sock draw, a couple of years ago I had a moth attack in my wardrobe and as I don't want that devastation again I will be ordering some more moth stuff from the land of lake today grrr.
Swimming continues and we are going twice a week now so I need to get the kit on the line today ready for tomorrow. I don't know if I am losing weight but I managed 30 lengths last night so I must be getting a bit fitter
@Mrs SD, Al*I have rhubarb in their super 6 this week so I have some more ready to be turned into crumble today, pop around anytimeI will be doing lots as we love it.
@weenancyinAmerica, I really feel for you with your housemates, I think I would have cracked a long time ago, you do so much for everyone else it is definitely time to look after yourself first.
Take care everyone7 -

Round to mums first thing ( without being waylaid chattering as I was yesterday, though of course it’s always good to talk!)
last nights bags of stuff taken out to my car and down to tip. Although I should have made an appointment before I did as they only had late morning left and tip is nearer mums than mine so would mean doubling back again.Anyway chanced my luck going an hour early and they let me in.Two bags to textile recycling
3 bags of paper
5 bags of rubbish
a bit of hard plastic
And 10 more books dropped off at supermarket…still hundreds to go but I feel 10 at a time is more mentally manageable!Quick chat with her next door neighbour, she sent DD2 and I a lovely card each saying in mine how we’d always had a close bond. And very kindly gave me garden centre vouchers. I’ll miss her. Mum would always say what were you and N talking about…oh nothing much, just blethering.Back round later …7 -
Evening Peeps,
I am in here quite a bit lately as I am on leave and trying to make the most of it. As the better weather is with us it helps DH in his physical wellbeing. He is on trying to get stuff sorted in his workshop/shed. The shelving is up and in place now but he had to paint before installing them. We spend a good hour trying to workout how the scarifier folded enough to be hung on its supplied hanger. Rang the company that supplies them nationally and they couldn't answer it either, anyway its up - time we'll not get back. Had to push DH in putting stuff onto the damn shelves which helped tidy things up. He wanted to make a decision about what went on them, typical Leo striving for perfection. Good enough is good enoughhe can do that later at his leisure (which probably won't get done)
Items from the loft are still coming down swopping round is not in balance though. That could be tipped at the weekend if I get to do a car boot weather pending also the threat of the motorways blockades may affect it. Needs must on both sides
The van is booked in for a tip run on sunday morning. Need to find some more detritus to go in it to make it more worth the special journey.
Did some frog stuff last night checking ahead on my car insurance and there is to be a £40 reduction with a new company. I'll take that thankyou
@Mrs S_D thankyou for the medals for DH & I and my gold star.
Hugs to those in need
I'm looking forward to sitting in the back "fresh air" carriage going backwards watching the landscape move slowly.
2 Scratters xx

Hi all, green waste bin nearly full again but it will drop and lovely neighbour has said I can put some in her's. I made more rhubarb crumble for pud and still loads left, I might have to put some in the freezer if only to stop us undoing all the good work swimming
I finished the baby blanket, still needs backing attaching, but I have put it away for now to ponder a little longer. OH is of the opinion I should hang on to it for a while as the mum to be had not seen it.
Swim kits washed and dried ready for tomorrow
Take care everyone6 -

@Liverpool-Anne - I do like this from your recent post 'and 11 random kids into the bin' - a splendid idea.
Not much done since yesterday but I did enjoy a lovely countryside walk once I'd found the parking area. Not too sunny but very humid and lots of bugs about. Quiz this morning then meeting this afternoon. Tomorrow looks quieter but I have the school runs to do.

Well I said I’d be on here daily, but as usual, as soon as I make a tiny plan, real life cuts in and messes it all up. DS had been ill and as I was on my own I spent all night running between DD with her usual nightly milk requests and a sick DS. I really hope he gets better today 🤞
So I am getting further and further behind with work and house stuff, although it couldn’t be helped. I wonder if I’ll ever catch up with myself?
