Felt totally overwhelmed by clutter last night, send pics to my cousin in despair, this morning realise clutter more overwhelming when many other RL issues pressing. Popped out for early lunch and took bag of things to CS that I had been hoping to get pennies for. Decided as not volunteering time the least I can do is donate new items (like CS rather than freesites for these as CS gets £ and someone a bargain. Told decorator last night can't have him next week as in too much of a muddle. Hoping with a v v good wind I might clear things enough to be able to ask him to make a start.

Sounds like work is progressing well @vulpix. I have half expected to find air raid shelter foundations in my garden over the years but so far only horse shoes (former farm land). My house was built 1929/1930 and the air raid siren was, until the late 1990s, at the corner of my road. It was tested annually during the school summer holidays. The only thing I can think is that the WWII residents of my house were sharing a shelter with one of the neighbours. My house, my neighbour’s house and their neighbour’s house on the other side were all occupied by siblings (the houses were new build social housing for ‘respectable families’ from our town ‘slum’ area). There was a lot of mass movement to the area and even when I was little there were a lot of people still related, much like a small village.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

MrsSD Thanks for the welcome back, sadly it was health issues that put me in the TLC carriage again. Anyway I'm on the mend now but can't do as much I want to, Hey-ho c'est la vie. Yes the repairers were waiting for bodywork parts and a new wheel to arrive but even then it took them about 3 weeks to finish 🙄 but fair play they did a great job 👍. The shorts weren't his fave but now he needs some new ones, and I'll have to nag him until he gets some !
I found the leftovers of the decorating stuff from finishing the last frog, in a bag, in the office ( ROD ) so that will be put in the shed later as it's far too hot at the moment to leave the house, I love the sun 😎 but not the heat. The car stuff which was upstairs will go into the car this evening too ( I'm determined ) as it's now cluttering up the dining room, well I almost got it out of the house yesterday 😂
Take care all

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently6 -
Dropped off about 8 big boxes of stuff to charity shop in town and forms handed in to the solicitor.Brought some things that I’m keeping round but plonked in the garage for now. Then DD2 decided to tidy the shoe cupboard and had everything out on the floor, the dog stood on me and I decided to remove myself from the situation! Just felt very overwhelmed with the chaos ( which I know will sort ) and came up to the quiet of my room. Have work in an hour or so , so just needed some quiet me time.6

Just catching up with everyones news. Was cross on Wednesday because I checked our councils website and they said they took mobile phones and small electricals in our green box. So I put my mobile phone hoard in the green box and found an old radio to put in as well. The bin men just tipped them out and left them on my lawn😡
Oh well I will have to sort them next week. Drove to my MIL old house in Dorset Thursday. There is a cupboard under the eaves which my sister said had mould. Emptied everything out...could not believe how much tut was in there , as I thought we had cleared so much when we first inherited the house.(to be fair there was some rooms full of black bags!) Well there was a fold up bed that I had kept in case we ever needed it. Realised that a couple of slats were broken, I know I would never mend it so I freecycled it and it was picked up an hour ago. Bags of curtains were taken to recycling and an old pouffe. They don't have a garden collection here so I cut the hedge and the lawn and added that to all the stuff I took to the dump. The car was full. So probably no more decluttering for a few days as my daughter and her husband are joining me for a few days tomorrow and we are hoping to go to the beach.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D7 -
DS is finally getting better now, but I’m seriously behind on everything… real work and home stuff 😬. Emails are out of control! I tried to catch up today by doing little bits of work intermixed with home stuff. Only just finished really and I’m still a bit behind (although I wasn’t anxious to go to bed as it’s too hot).
The patio has not been cleared for tomorrow. I have ceased to care about that.. DH’s parents can walk round the mess. I’ve continued working on my bedroom and also did 3 loads of washing (and hung out) as well as tons of tidying and changing all the beds today. I have dusted the bedroom and it is a million times better. Just a bit more tidying to go there. I also need to reinstate my longer to do list for trades as I have lots of little bits and pieces to sort out and I may as well get them done together.

Had our monthly book sale today. Made over $280, which means we sold at least 1100 books but more like 2000 plus since we sell them for $1.50 for a plastic store bag or $2.00 for a bigger paper one - so a lot more going out. Love passing the books along to people who are excited to get them. Monday will be our straightening up the books-getting ready for the next sale day. People were bringing in more donations while we were selling the books, tried to put them out right away but more than we could get out so we have more than enough for next month. Probably have about 10,000 books for sale (it takes up a pretty large space when we get all of the carts out). We get a lot of new teachers buying books for room libraries which is always fun - helping them find what they need. Since we spend the entire week before the sale getting ready, not much else gets done. But try to keep on top of the basics - sorting emails, handling mail, doing basic housework, feeding the pets, playing with the dog, coming on here to get rejuvenated, and doing volunteer work at the local Family History Center. Cleared five items off my major frog list too this week. Ignoring roommates as much as possible.7

Hi all, well 4 loads of washing done and line dried today, some stuff was dry before the next load was ready to go out as the sun was beating down but we also had a breeze, perfect drying day
I managed another big bag of garden waste into the bin and I think I am nearly there as far as the above ground bramble is concerned. I had to stop after the 1 bag as it was too hot and I was dripping. It is such a pain as it is mixed in with a large climbing rose and a big buddleia . Today I almost trapped myself under it all as I had worked my way to the back fence and ended up on my knees to get to the base of a shoot and then couldn't stand up. My right knee is a bit wobbly at times after a cartilage op a few years ago and there was nothing I could hold on to to help me upin the end I had to reverse crawl out while trying to avoid the rose thorns until I could reach a hand hold. Some of the rose came out then as there is a bit more bramble in there and I am not doing that again. Lots of the rose will have to come out later as I can't get in with the garden fork to get to the roots otherwise but I want to get all the top growth bramble out first so it doesn't set fruit and then the birds will just spread it further. While I was sitting having a cold drink I watched 3 types of bees feeding on my campanular which made me smile.
After I had changed out of my thick hoodie and trousers into my t shirt and shorts I jusr sat under the brolley in the breeze to cool down, I was exhausted. They have forecast rain for tomorrow so hopefully I can get something done in the house, the ironing mountain is threatening to take over the conservatory, I'm not promising though as I absolutely hate ironing
Don't you just love getting into a bed with clean sheets
@oceanspirit, so glad you are back home, things always seem better when you get back to your own bed, hope the problem is sorted
Take care everyone8 -
