MotherNerd, well done on all your removals - are you sharing your home, or have your son & his beloved moved out?
I'd still have the rent from this house but DS3 and Beloved would take over all the bills (I've told DS3 he has to have 3 layers of clothing on before he puts the heating on). We'd each have a separate space but they are on hand if I need help (and I get double the garden space as they rarely venture outside). I need a new kitchen here (so that is is a fixed cost), I need a stair lift and at some point I'm going to need a more suitable bathroom (shower with a seat or an adapted bath). Could have what I want next door (while it's still empty) and just get a basic kitchen for those two, here.
Still thinking about it and need to wait until I have some money that I'm allowed to spend. Don't want to over extend myself and end up struggling. Being in the town centre is very convenient in many ways - so much is 5 minutes away (or the bus to get there is). DS2 was talking about me getting a smaller bungalow than mum's (he and his gf did suggest they might be able to buy out my brother's share of the bungalow but that would be too much) but a lot of the bungalows are on the outskirts of town - I need to think in terms of getting to the nearest bus stop or SM, where the doctor's is etc (had to go to pick up a repeat 'fit note' from the other doctor's surgery and though I used the bus and all the shortcuts it was difficult). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage12 -
bitbybit - thank you. Your DS housing situation sounds scary
Grannykate - that's so kind of you to house your DS and his children; i don't think my parents would do that
I have done some tidying in the smallest bedroom (got guests in a few days!) and have thrown away some random old pairs of tights and odd holey socks - loads more to do but i'm off next week and there'll be no stopping me

@mothernerd good to see you back here, and hugs and admiration for all you're managing, and hope you are being kind to yourself
@bit_by_bit so good of your DS to call the HA. I think it's so hard for young people in shared housing, and esp when social housing. DD1 was in supported housing and due to get her own flat but couldn't cope with feeling unsafe with what was going on, and in shared housing in the private sector again felt unsafe. Thank you for your kind words
Trying to go to bed so not commenting on all the great work. Hope Mr SD is recovering well.
My lovely DIY person worked magic in a few hours, and of course, as they were doing things we noticed other things - frame of old trunk (my mum's from 1930s) coming apart, and they got the original nail back in, bits that I was trying to fill on a door, taken off and renailed to fit closely, new blind (I've had a year) put up and old blind out (main reason) , carpet on a couple of treads coming away on stairs removed along with all the nails and tacks underneath, crack in door glued etc. Can only count the blind and carpet today. Also frog -really didn't want to settle down to progressing it but then focused for 1.5 hours, and also number of emails deleted and another email sent.
Also low gutter cleared, so 550.
This thread really does help me chip away and know that even one or two things done is all in the right direction. Welcome to newbies to Mrs SD and all on the EDT x11 -
Deni. Family is complicated and both sides here have MH issues so I need to take great care whilst trying not to interfere. In the long run DS2 needs his own place probably near me to support childcare but money needs sorting out first. Having slight nightmares about my electric bill!
Out today to collect my glass figures which I sent for repair and then possibly swimming. I am keeping up the steps to over 4000 per day. Some frogs to do then I might well tackle another one of those boxes sitting in dining room.2025 Decluttering Campaign 733/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hello, a couple days off and I'm starting to feel like myself, still tired and in bed by 9:30pm every night.
Decluttered plenty of money on tester pots for our hallway, euros for OH for holiday with the stepchildren and new bras as I've gained 2 cups sizes. (Despite losing 8 &1/2 lbs since January, not sure how that happened).
Today I will declutter the ironing pile and start the task of packing for the spain holiday and myself and youngest DD are going to my mums.
I did start sorting paperwork and filled the shredder yesterday. This will continue today alongside the ironing and going swimming before wine night at a friend's house.
Hugs to those that need them x10 -

The story so far. I've now been an orphan for over 3 months (mum died on January 3rd) and it's been a roller coaster ride. I still feel numb, the possibility of mum dying was always there (old, vulnerable, several 'conditions' including one whose medicine killed her immune system) but the speed and the rapid changes of circumstances (minor illness on the 23rd December, admitted to hospital on the 30th, died there on the 3rd January) have left me reeling.10 -
Two people in my family died over the past couple of months. I wasn't close to either of them. I was planning on going to the funeral of the most recent one but now we have had the sudden news that we are completing on our new house in 3 weeks I think I won't have the time as we have so much to do before then!
I have been clearing my kitchen. One shelf is completely empty now. I'm going to go through the under sink cupboard today and move some of my cleaning supplies out the garden box and only keep the things that I will use in the next few weeks. I will probably chuck some stuff away. I went through the medicine box yesterday and got rid of some things too.2025 GOALS

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedOops 😬 the lazy bug has been rampant in my house - I haven’t posted in a couple of days 😔 Wednesday was a mixed bag - overcast, dry, thunder & lightning, heavy rain & some brilliant sunshine & back to being cold. DSis managed to avoid the rain when picking up her prescription meds which were all present & correct for the 1st time in 2 years 🥳 & then doing a bit of sm shopping. DH is on the mend (the rash is turning purple) but still sleeping for England. I am still clearing down programmes from the TV planner. Dinner was roast shoulder of pork, roast potatoes, lo sweetcorn, carrots & spring greens 😋 Wudupa.
Thursday was a far nicer day - stayed dry all day with some sunshine but a very strong wind. DH managed to have a bath as the pain from arm/shoulder has cleared up. I had a successful day clearing several frogs by actually going out 😉 Bus to P.O. - posted letters & bought top up stamps for postage to Europe - the price went up 15p 😠 Walked down to next bus stop & caught bus to the dry cleaners where I dropped off DH’s funeral trousers 🙂 then walked to sm where I managed to buy the Easter Eggs for posting to France & Germany, a bit of shopping & the birthday cards for the second six months of the year - only 2 more needed - age 15 cards are impossible to find 🤔 Finally home after a couple of hours. Sorted the cards into date order & will write & address over the next week or so. I have sourced 3 cardboard boxes (from my small supply of Justins 😉) but still need 1 more & will be wrapping etc over the weekend to post Monday. Dinner was Chinese takeaway - DH & DSis have enough for Friday’s dinner. I get the starter box which contains mini spring rolls, 2 spare ribs, 2 quarters of sesame prawn toast, seaweed & 2 chicken kebabs with a satay sauce which is only enough for one meal.Friday is warmer with some sunshine but the storm clouds are gathering 😔

However, I am continually amazed at how well you take everything in your stride 👏 Now I want you to take some time solely for yourself 😉 - I know it will be difficult but please try 🙏 Sending virtual hugs 🤗What a lovely comment EnergyShifter 😊Lovely post nannywindow 🙂 What a shocking thing to happen but so pleased that it was just the car 😔 Putting jokey/relief hat on - at least you got to declutter the contents of the car 😉 Fingers crossed that you get your car back quickly 🤞Nice to see you Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👋 Great decluttering 👏Lovely supportive post TC77 & thank you for sharing 👏 Keep up the good work 🙂 Re passports, always nice to have them with you so you can make a quick getaway 😉
No need to apologise mothernerd - sounds like life has gotten in the way 😔 So sorry about your dear mum passing 😢 I am copying & pasting florianatwobob’s post here as she has captured what I feel so much better than I could “Sending you hugs @mothernerd. The crash after a period of adrenaline is exhausting and deflating (I remember it when my mum died within 6 weeks of diagnosis). Plodding on is good. Plodding on is still alive. Plodding on is something to build from”.nannywindow, very pleased to hear that you will be getting your car back 🙂 Nice post to mothernerd 👏
A compassionate & caring post florianatwobob 👏 I hope you don’t mind that I copied it 🙏 without permission 😔
