Mothernerd Wow!! You have achieved such a lot. I'm glad you are posting again because I wondered where/how you were when you disappeared. Hugs 🧡
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Sending you hugs @mothernerd. The crash after a period of adrenaline is exhausting and deflating (I remember it when my mum died within 6 weeks of diagnosis). Plodding on is good. Plodding on is still alive. Plodding on is something to build from.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Life remains a bit chaotic with DS2 here now and children much of the time. It meant I had to move my 10 'like with like' boxes out of cabin and back into house. This is probably a good thing as it means I have to sort them out and make some decisions rather than put it off for ever. The contents of 1 box halved and lots of paper into recycling. Complete box of mil's stuff emptied and just a few items kept.

My parents (86 and 80) have 5 types of cancer between them, but it's all treatable and bearable. They are Swedish Death Cleaning their house, they have their wills and funeral services all complete and easily accessible; I think they are holding on and doing well, just because they don't want to overload me!

@mothernerd if you took the logic of my late father and late uncle, all 8 week old babies need a 2nd hand scalextric set for their first Christmas. My nephew still has his dad's first Christmas present 40 odd years later 😉May you find your sister soon Helli.

Congrats @Baxtersmum on your breakthough. What an achievement
Big hugs @TC77. This clutter/hoarding habit wasn't started yesterday and neither were the reasons for it just suddenly there. It takes years, and like with my frustration, things will change with time and as you (and I) continue to address our issues. I do what I always do when I get fed up - do one thing: be it a frog or take ut the trash or just clear a draw or surface.
You made me laugh @Mrs_Salad_DodgerThankyou for the cheeriness and the star. It is much appreciated. I hope MrSD is feeling better.
Welcome @SanguineGina. This is a great place to start and get support when it doesn't pan out like you thought it might.
Hugs to you @EnergyShifter Well done for seeking help. Recognising that you are struggling is a great start, even better doing something quick about it.I also echo all the othe comments which are right on the button.
Hugs also to @Fizz2015 Fab you have a good team.
Congratulations or your permanenect contract @florianatwobob
@weenancyinAmerica I am in awe of your energy and kindness. Please take some time out to care for yourself occasionally. Once that room is done you may find it easier to manage the residents behaviours. Great idea to seek help though.Glad you wre not in that car when it got hit. Please remeber every little bit helps be it a weet wrapper or a plate sorted out. If you had a penny for each item you had chucked out you would be a millionaire by now
Well done on teh decluttering @Deni_debt-free@Deni_debt-free_dreamer

So I haven't been in for a few days as I have been cleaning my front bedroom. Getting thaose negative thoughts off my chest really made the difference. It has been raining so I no reason to go out. I have been into every box and bag, turfed it out, sorted and cleared. I moved round the children's bed as it wasn't ok where it was.
Out have gone 2 more bags to the charity shop, two binliners of rubbish, two bags of recycling and a bag of paper to the lady over the road for the scouts.
Just got the windows to clean and a box to go to DS2. Even better are the empty boxes under the bed
I also decluttered a dentist appointment, I have a bit of a phobia so its aways a stress.
DS2 has settled in as much as he can do. It turns out there is only one original occupant (OO) of the new house and the other guy was a visitor. Fears re drug use are confirmed with DS2 finding OO friends in the house, one shooting up even though the OO is in hospital. He and his old housemate have called the housing association and asked these people to leave. The HA are changing the locks.
Right. Off to do some window cleaning.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor.
