1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedTry again 🤞Back to Saturday - Dinner was chicken in breadcrumbs, mash, sweetcorn & carrots. Wudupa. DSis & I binge watched the last three episodes of Holby - prolific use of tissues as we sobbed our hearts out 😉 Both of us feel they cancelled the wrong series 😞
Sunday is a bright sunny day but rather chilly. I have plenty to do but am just lazing around ☹️579 - 586 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, glass jar, newspaper, 4 plastic takeaway boxes & lids - recycled587 - 588 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - binned
Sounds like you had a lovely afternoon EnergyShifter 😊 When DH & I + a couple of friends went on the cable car we visited the museum on the Greenwich Peninsula - at the time it was a technology museum & very interesting 🙂 You are correct though that it is a dull walk to Canary Wharf 😉
Very amusing vulpix 🤭 Teachers are probably not allowed to write anything like that nowadays 😉 Sorry to hear about Mil ☹️ Enjoy your trip down South 🙂
Wow you have been busy mothernerd 🤩 batch cooking, washing, gardening, embroidery. You have done more in two days than I do in two weeks (or should that be months 😉😉)
So much in fact that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️
What a lovely supportive post TC77 👏 Perhaps DD1 can help you declutter 😉weenancyinAmerica, 106 degrees is rather too hot 🥵 I am in awe of your work ethic - I would be lying in a puddle of sweat 😉 Very impressed at how hard you have worked clearing your roommates room 👏 - hopefully she will be appreciative & be able to keep it clean & clutter free when she is back. One Gold Star ⭐️ winging its way to America 🙂Sounds like the book sale will be a roaring success 🥳
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 especially as you are exhausted 👏 Very pleased to hear that you have a couple of nice events to look forward to as well 🙂SanguineGina, I agree that slow & sober is the way to go with shredding 🙂 Although sometimes I just want to get on with it 😉 Keep up the good work 👏MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

reporting in to try and keep some motivation - done very little today, abit of gardening, very short sanding session,552
Going to write a list for the week. Wanted to take some paint back, had receipt for ages and now can't find it - definitely in a muddle... hope people are recuperating, and some relaxation and moving in the right direction, even if slowly.10 -
Five more bags of trash out of roommate's room of doom. Two more bags of cans and bottles also. Her father is going to do the two sink loads of dishes I found today - including 12 more forks! But the trash is almost out - I figure about three or four hours of work will do it. It will takes several days as I can only lean over for 15 minutes at a time, then have to rest. Will be spending most of the next five days at the library getting ready for our big book sale of the year - the rest of the sales are easy by comparison.
My grandniece and grandnephew finally got their Christmas presents. Their Dad brought them to visit grandparents finally. My other sister and I had taken them up at Christmas time, but that part of the family didn't make it. Their mother has not been on speaking terms with my sister.
On a lighter note- I have been trying to find a picture of me for someone I work for who wanted to put it on his website. The last time I had a "real picture" taken was about 20 years ago!. Have snapshots from my sisters and from our annual picture for the Friends of the Library, but no picture of just me. Going to have a friend take a picture on her phone while we are at the library and send it to him. Will need to take a good top with me to change into as working on the sale is dirty work. Hope I don't break their phone.9 -

4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedSunday stayed dry & mainly sunny. DH watched the MotoGP races, DSis watched TV in her room & I cleared down more programmes from planner. Finished writing cards, wrapping Easter eggs & filling in customs forms. All bagged & ready to be posted. Dinner was cottage pie & peas 😋 Wudupa.

TC77, I think our decluttering mojo has gone on its spring holidays probably somewhere balmy 😉 However as long as we can do one thing each day we will get there 🙂
weenancyinAmerica I don’t know how you do it - the amount of trash plus cans & bottles you have removed is phenomenal. With all the crockery & cutlery I wonder how your roommate had space for herself 🤔 Pleased to hear that her father is doing all the washing up. I did have to smile at the lack of a recent picture 🙂 sounds like you are camera shy 😉 Shame about the family rift - fingers crossed that either mum or sister makes the first move 🤞 as life is too short for family to stay cross with each other 😔MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

Back again.
12 bits of old linens to CS
8 books to CS
1 broken watering can rose to bin
1 tatty pair of pants to rags
1 small pile of rubbish from desk collected as I put of an awkward letter, aka frog. I had it to write and three Easter cards to send , so I just did the frog one first and then really enjoyed writing the cards.
The CS was very pleased with the donation of old linens some weeks ago that I was encouraged to take more to them. I think I will donate rather than hoard for a brocante that may never happen. There is not much feel good factor in getting to one for 5 in the morning and spending all day for 50 euros or so , when I can enjoy the lovely feeling of helping . My CS is for abused women and they wed the money more than I do. Interesting , well no, more horrific, is that as soon as I typed abused the phone suggested woman!
Just remembered
4 bottles of ood hand sanitizer, bought to stock up but it made my hands itch
3 cartons of tomato purée, ood, again from Covid early days and got lost at the back of cupboard.
Total- 30and 148 is 178/365.
Big hugs to all of you, especially those of us with turmoil and worry , keep plodding- Floriana-that is now my motto . Thank you all for your company and compassion, especially you, Mrs SD.
See you all soon and keep safe everyone.7 -
Hello everyone! I’m Hobbit, and it seems like I’m always trying to declutter!
I’ve had 3 Big Ones in my life - when I moved countries 11 years ago, when I moved out of my marital house 6 years ago, and then again when my partner and I moved into our current home 1 year ago.
I often think quite a lot about the motivations and psychology behind decluttering, and had a few musings, if anyone was feeling reflective and wanted to join in.
What do you define as ‘clutter’, in order to ‘declutter’? Is it stuff you’ve not looked at or touched for x-amount of time? Is it anything on a surface instead of being ‘tidied away’? Is it anything you don’t use every day? Is it things you don’t like anymore, or stuff that is broken or purposeless?
What are your motivations for decluttering? Do you want a home full of bare walls and surfaces - ‘minimalism’? Less Stuff to put away, or to dust? Just to know exactly what things you own? Maybe you’re downsizing, or like the idea of simple/tiny-living, even in a regular home?
Is your decluttering journey ever hindered by ‘I might need that one day’? I had thought that, historically, humans were resource gatherers/guarders, and so we’re predisposed to want to hold onto Stuff? How do you think decluttering is/isn’t a reflection of privilege - if you declutter or get rid of things, would it be easy for you financially to replace them if you needed them later? Or maybe your home is large enough to store and keep a lot more than someone with a smaller home, or with less storage space (loft, cupboards, garage, shed)?
Obviously no right or wrong answers, but it seems like the want, act, and then upkeep of decluttering is often so much more than just getting rid of things - there’s so many motivations, ideals, and desires tied up in it.10 -

Motivation is being realistic about what hobbies / pastimes I now have, what I will actually use & the space I live in (moved from a 3 storey 4 bed house with space to entertain up to a dozen to a 2 bed town house 50 miles away, via a bedsit for 4 months).
I consider whether I will ever need a thing again before getting rid - 9 times out of 10 the answer is "no" and the other 10% I can borrow from family if that thing is needed as I am single with limited disposable income. The money has already been spent on my (now low levels of) clutter & I don't dwell on how low my debts might be if I hadn't wasted money in a previously unhappy life. Storage is also an issue as I do not intend filling my loft with stuff for my kids to throw away in the future and my home has to work hard to accommodate everything I keep.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Mrs. S-D - she didn't! She took the bed out and was slipping on a large dog bed on top of the trash! That is why she is currently at her sister's house - until we can get the room back to "normal". She has autism, so I am going to ask for help to get her a little more organized. I have taken out another bag of trash this morning and found another fork. I'm off to the library in a few minutes.9

I have a similar outlook to you floss about clutter. I am on maintenance level now.I just haven’t got enough hours in the day atm. I am working extra at work due to sickness. As so many of you know what it is all about, I am on the hospital/ care merry go round with MIL. So many calls,so much guilt.☹️I am just about keeping on top of the tidiness in the house. I am chipping away at putting everything away in our bedroom after emptying it out to move the furniture when the plasterer came. I can’t be bothered just now to sort out some things that I know could go. Just not got the brain space presently. It’s nice to come here for a bit of a change.Vx:10
