Today commenced far earlier than I had planned after a beer festival yesterday but hey ho!
The two main food cupboards got hulked out, audited and repacked. A tinned goods order is on the cards as I’m down to one tin of chopped toms, which in my kitchen is unthinkable!
Hoping everyone has had a good weekend

Been reading along but doing little. @bit_by_bit agree about cutting yourself some slack but I do know how you feel. been away for a night at friends who hosted 4 of us ( I was going to do it but couldn't manage), it was so relaxing and uncluttered, and I come home and just don't know where to start. I want to say its DDs but it isn't it's me, and I struggle to know what to do or where is best to put things, as over 3 floors and everything is abit random. I spend ages looking, moving things backwards and forwards. Tonight going to focus on helping with DD1 form for her accident claim and did manage to clear my desk abit , also went for a walk with friend after coming home, and remembered to give her 2 essential oils I bought to get rid of pests but finally had other solution (been meaning to pass on for a very long time). Do need to finish painting room (or start as only did shelves) need to do some filling and bought sealant gun but couldn't get security tag, took it back but they weren't allowed to help cut it off so returned and need to get another! Hassle but v minor in the scheme of things.
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks 2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays. 3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉 4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday was another mixed day - cold & dampish but no sleet 😉 DH finally got a call from a doctor this morning - probably shingles but referred him to The Royal London walk-in clinic. DH left home about 2:30 p.m. went to the hospital by bus & shanks’s pony, checked in & was seen 3 hours later 😱 - the waiting room was full with a queue of people checking in as well. Diagnosis confirmed as shingles, so DH given a prescription for antiviral tablets. Finally got home 7:15 p.m. DSis had a bath. I spent time in the kitchen - used los to start a soup, then roasted bendy purple carrots, old swede & onions to add to soup base. Whilst oven was on I also cooked some apples & hg rhubarb using pre-made crumble mix from freezer I baked a crumble. Soup will be thickened tomorrow & we will have for lunch. Swept kitchen floor, then spent the afternoon transposing recipes from scrap paper to fancy notebook whilst watching Midsomer Murders. Added April’s 1p Savings Challenge monies to Terramundi pot. Dinner was spaghetti Bolognese using a bag of pre-cooked mince, carrots, onion & garlic from freezer. Wudupa.
541 - 544 Kitchen recycling, large cardboard box, small glass jar (emptied of ood powdered nutmeg), scrap paper - recycled 545 - 546 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - binned
Welcome aboard the EDT becky170 👋 We love seeing new faces 🙂 Sounds like you have your hands full but your list of extras sounds eminently doable 🙂 and we are all here to encourage you & celebrate your successes 👏
Sorry to hear that Covid has caught you 2Scratters ☹️ Take all the time you need in the TLC Carriage - sounds like rest & relaxation is doing you the world of good 🙂 Great work on selling items & finding the packaging ready for despatch 👏 Also well done on keeping on top of dealing with your paperwork 👏 Sending get well soon wishes & virtual hugs.
Excellent news about DS2, bit_by_bit 🙂 You don’t sound miserable at all, bit_by_bit just a bit perplexed as to why you are not ‘fantasy you’ already 🤔 I confess that I am in the same state as you - my fantasy self has a clean, tidy, nicely decorated & clutter free home, weighs 4 stone less than I do now, doesn’t smoke, goes for long walks, swims (rather than floats) several times a week, bakes weekly, deals with frogs immediately & has a proper dress style (rather than scruffy but comfortable 😉) 😔 Perhaps we can cheer each other along 😉 One Gold Star ⭐️ is coming your way for reaching 25/100 bags 👏 Great work on the downstairs 👏
Well said vulpix 👏 you are right that bit_by_bit is amazing 🙂 Excellent work 👏 I hope you enjoy your jewellery making course 🙂 and good luck with the disposal of those items identified as superfluous to requirements 🍀
Excellent work weenancyinAmerica 👏 Did you get help from your roommate’s dad to clear her room? 🤞 Good luck with the book sale 🍀 - sounds like you are providing most of the books 😉 Hopefully the training for the husky will be successful 🤞
Excellent organising TripleH 👏 Fingers crossed that you will start to get a bit more energy & with everything in place you can get several frogs sorted 🤞 Well done on selling a few bits & earning a little extra 🙂
The belated Mothers Day tea sounds delicious, bit_by_bit 🙂 Fingers crossed that the furniture sells & is collected quickly 🤞
Hope you enjoyed the beer festival florianatwobob 😉 Excellent work on sorting out the 2 food cupboards 👏 Eek, how could you let your tinned tomato supply get so low 😉😉😂
Yippee Baxtersmum 🥳 Party time - over halfway to your target in only 3 months 👏
TC77, I feel your pain/frustration ☹️ My To Do list gets ever longer & my GUAG gets less - not a useful combination 😉 However as long as we each do something/anything each day I know we will get back on track 🙂 We just need to remember to celebrate our successes 😉 So very well done on passing on the essential oils 👏
Great work short_bird 👏 Enjoy Peaky ☺️

Spent the day moving between the yard dealing with the husky and putting water in the pool, cleaning up as much as I can stand for one day in young roommate's room (2 bags of trash and 3 bags of cans and bottles removed today alone), and working on the computer. Doing a "book" I had previously done on PowerPoint which is helping me re-do the book, and working on my Swedish genealogy. I work for about 20 minutes on each and then rotate. I think I will be removing over 1000 items in trash from roommate's room alone. We also are getting more boxes of books to go to the library for sale. Since I alone have over 7000 books combined with roommate 1's collection, what we have taken out so far doesn't look like it made a dent. When there were floods in Missouri about twenty years ago, a club I belonged to collected books to help rebuild their libraries. I sent twenty boxes and couldn't even tell. Lots of craft, history, mystery, cookbooks. I do background research for other authors also, so had to have a very extensive collection in some areas (US Civil War history being one). Now I am passing these along.
Thank you for the warm welcome MrsSD! Over the weekend I managed to tackle sorting out my DD clothes drawers removing anything which was too small and finding out her summer clothes (we have luckily been gifted lots of clothes from her cousin). I also sorted a pile of paperwork in the living room and instead of just leaving the stuff to be filed on one side I actually filed it! I also bagged up 3 bin bags full of clothes recycling and took them to the tip along with a broken chair. So all in all a successful weekend
Oh I nearly forgot that whilst sorting out my DD clothes I listed three items on Vinted and two sold straight away and have now been posted.
Well RL has been difficult and I have a lodger (DS2) who has 50/50 care of children. Decluttering may be more of a challenge going forward but they are used to being here lots anyway. Spare double room was already free of clutter etc and he can use virtually empty cabin outside. This will incentivise me to go through the 10 boxes out there of 'like with like' papers and photos. I will bring in 2 boxes today to start on I had nice few days away with DGCs with strange weather - blue skies on the beach whilst it snowed! Nice hotel but too much eaten although I did get my steps up to 12619 on Saturday. Went to pub and had a couple of glasses of wine with DS2 but mustn't make a habit of it.
I have some stuff for tip today so will bag it up and count later. Got holiday washing done yesterday and mostly dry which is good as its tipping down here this morning.
Oh granny Kate, things will get better. Hang onto that thought. Xxxxx
woohoo the plasterer is here. The son of a friend. Easy on the eye. Oooo young man! He tells me the ceiling has already been boarded so he only needs to skim it. Fab. Cheaper too. The contents of our room are chucked in the spare room and bathroom. It will take a looong time to put everything back tidy.
Poor Mr SD. Get well soon xxx Loving the fantasy you Mrs SD. My fantasy me is slimmer, taller, nicer teeth and hair and no arthritis.
I loved the jewellery course. I did lack strength in my hands because of arthritis. It is more physical than expected. I made a bangle for Mr V.
102. Cheese I bought and never fancied.
103. Pop socket. Unwanted gift
105. 2 pairs of socks
107. Chilli jam made and given away
108. Inch of paper work culled from the office
I do enjoy hearing everyone’s achievements. It spurts me on.
