Hello all, brrr it was sooo cold today 🥶 I hope everyone is able to keep warm in this spring winter weather ⛄. Warm virtual hugs to each and everyone today 🤗 I shall send healing vibes to all the poorly ones too.
Our builder returned this morning and I was hoping he would finish everything off today and take all his tools away but being Mr Perfection he needed to get a flawless surface on the new wall and it took him ages 😟 Seems now he will have to come back again next week to throw some stones at it ! 😂 It will be a shame to spoil it really !
Today I started to work my way through a never ending " jobs to do " list which started with "clean the kitchen". I got a bit carried away and gave it 3/4 of a spring clean, the cooker got a thorough clean and even the window sill was cleared and washed. I also sorted through my spice rack and out went a (part used, don't remember when,) bottle of tamarind sauce, the 2nd one that had been opened 😠 and 3 jars of spices 2008/2012 😯 I also made some jelly/jam with the LO juice from cooking my hg blackberries, frozen from last year, and some wrinkly dessert apples which were languishing in the fruit bowl. The fruit will be topped with a crumble mix and the jelly will be enjoyed by little old me as DH prefers marmalade, his loss then 🤤
All the posts about decluttering paperwork motivated me to go through our pension stuff, lots now in the shredding pile, joining my late MIL's paperwork. I put lots of annual pension leaflets in the recycling box along with a finished puzzle book. Finally the heavy cs bag has been collected today, whoo hoo !!
Take care all

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently7 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedFriday has been oh so very cold & it even tried to snow 😱 I sorted a bit of paperwork & cleared down a few more programmes from the TV planner. Cooked sausages, mash & beans for DSis. DH heated up the lo rice & added peas & a beaten egg, dished up & added chilli con carne & sour cream & had a few tortilla chips 🤤 Wudupa.
DH has developed a rash on the lower part of his left arm so contacted the medical help line but did not get a call back 😟
539 - 540 Kitchen recycling & detritusvulpix, I quite agree that there should be a nationwide standard for recycling 👏 Our council takes cardboard, paper, cans, plastic & glass bottles & jars & newspapers all put in one bin or bag - no sorting required. That is a lot of work vulpix - renovating the whole house 😥 Good luck with the diet 🍀 Btw excellent decluttering 👏
Great work GrannyKate 👏 I imagine the small people will have you running around which will be a help in upping your step count 😉bit_by_bit, your description of a ‘tired over-eater’ rather appeals to me 😉😉 Sorry to hear that your DS2’s housemates are addicts ☹️ Hopefully when the old house is renovated DS2 can get away from the addicts 🤞Excellent decluttering marrob especially the two frogs 👏
Hope your friend gets well soon, EnergyShifter. Sounds like your morning of pottering was just the tonic 👏Wow Deni_debt-free_dreamer - 2,000 emails deleted 👏nannywindow, I suppose a perfectionist builder is better than a shoddy builder 😉 but they do take their time 😉 Excellent work on your To Do list especially the kitchen & paperwork 👏MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

Can I join in the challenge? The clutter and general untidyness of our house is really starting to get to me now, so I really need to do something about it. I have two young children and work nearly full time so after looking after them and working I run out of energy and motivation to declutter. Hopefully setting some targets will help. My plan for the rest of 2022 will be to:
1) list at least 5 items a month on Facebook/vinted or eBay2) give a bag of old clothes/toys to charity each month3) do 4 tip runs to the recycling centre4) do 15 minutes decluttering of paperwork/sorting clothes or toys each weekend5) do a weekly declutter of my email inbox
Hopefully that will be achievableI'll report back at the end of the weekend!

Morning Peeps,
I've been hiding at the back of the TLC carriage complete with bag on head as Covid has located me.Sleep fortunately for me has been the best remedy. Keeping my legs raised has rid me (for now!) my old biddies puffy ankle has reduced to previous normal. I contracted cellulitis in it many moons ago and so it likes to swell. The extra weight wont help either but will keep trying. I have a very sweet tooth as my achilies heel but currently I can't manage that.
I would love to keep this bit if that's ok as I could drop my weight even quicker and be healthier too, pros and cons
I haven't posted for a while either but have been keeping up to date with you all needless to say not too much decluttering done yet DAH DAH!! last weekend before I got floored I managed to get some items into the bay pages and have got some items looking to be going out. So have been finding packaging ready instead of waiting till the last minute and less stress
So that is one frog in action just need to do some more. Paperwork has been kept on top of and will be looking forward to more shredding from DH business he retired from last year. This will take 7 years for it to all go for tax purposes.
To think our fuel costs have already risen 115% since out of contract it is a steep hill to climb. That's what our supplier suggested, needless to say that isn't happening. I am currently happy with how the legged company runs and is very forward of people running their accounts.
Need to see about about my 250 steps per hour can be done today. I'll with bringing in some wood
Have a good weekend Peeps
Stay warm & safe

Thankyou @EnergyShifter and Mrs SD. He seems to be settling in nicely. He won't probably be going back to the old house and I think he feel happier now that he is sorted and his room is tidy. He says a great weight has been lifted off his shoulders.
V tired today so only the CS. It feels like a wasted morning sadly but no worry. Got to listen to the old bod.
I did a bit of a wants and needs audit the other day. The wants are all about the fantasy me: slimmer, writing a novel whilst playing the guitar in a perfectly tidy and decluttered house. The fantasy me goes on long country walks and climbs hills, goes off at the drop of a hat with my campervan. The reality is not even close.
The barrier is not the clutter in itself, just the demotivating and energy sucking way it is there and is such quantity. It is the length of time it takes for me to do anything, addressing letting go of stuff with my hoarding tendencies. It is the sadness that it is this bad and its all my own work never mind the money I spent.
What I realised was that I really don't need anything else to make any of the fantasy me happen. I have all the tools. What I am not doing is letting myself really start on the fantasy me when I have so much to do. Its nuts really. Anyway, just some mulling over going on but I know its all doable, bit by bitSorry to sound miserable. I am not really.
I have done a few boxes in the last day or so and upstairs is looking a little better.
Downstairs is done mostly which is great so an achievement. A pleasure in fact when it comes to a quick cleanup.

2scratters give yourself time to recover. X
bit by bit. Cut yourself some slack. It is only a year since you retired and you have come a very long way in that year. I admire your discipline, you support so many people, I can’t keep up. You are amazing. Apply some of your discipline to nurturing fantasy you. Xxxx
I /we have a lot to do today. Try to to empty our bedroom as much as possible. Mr V working tonight doing a 70’s night. Tomorrow I am dropping Mr V off at work then going to a jewellery making course which was a Christmas gift. He is working the night too. Plasterer coming Monday morning. I think I need a rest from people in the house for a while.I have identified a few things that are on borrowed time in the past couple of days. We have only lived here 6 months. I am on a no buy stuff this year, but I brought stuff with us that we have never used and probably never will. When I put stuff back in our room I will be ruthless. … but I do LOVE clothes.:8 -
This has been a busy week - Youngest roommate made it to visit her sister in Missouri. I was able to clear two stacks of dishes and a bag of cans and bottles out of her room. The big husky has been enjoying squashing the bottles. Roommate that brought in husky borrowed money from his mother and signed the husky up for lessons - begin in about three weeks. The expensive one dog at a time kind of lessons - hope it works.
Getting ready for the big book sale later this. Sorted books at the library - but more important took three boxes of books to the used bookstore, and took five full boxes of books in for the book sale! Probably have about ten more to go.
At least we are getting rid of the "normal" trash now on a regular basis. But I admire people who can clean their windows - I can't even get to most of mine.8 -
We had a quiet day (long covid exhaustion?) yesterday. Its a bit frustrating as we've not actually achieved a lot but have organised quite a bit that will lead to future progress.Have hopefully found some shelves to go in our lounge (now need to wait for them) but once they're in, it should mean we can clear out half the boxes in our hall.Have sourced a chainsaw from FIL so can tidy the garden and sort out the raised bed (but again have a couple of weeks before we'll collect it).I have sold a few bits online and have printed off the photos I'm putting on my wall so still progressing.Good luck for the week ahead and stay safe and well everyone.May you find your sister soon Helli.
Sleep well.7 -
Thanks @vulpix for your kind words. I felt better after writing them. I think I just get frustrated with the ever changing energy levels which are longstanding and won't improve any time soon. Anyway the misery moment has passed and I am feeling ok again.
No decluttering today but some tidying up. Still full after a belated Mothers Day afternoon tea organised by DD.
Managed to list apiece of furniture online. That will give us a bit of space when it has gone.
I hope everyone is having a good day; hugs going to all who need them
