That is something I am fighting myself about happy-kitties, empty candle jars! Seems silly now I have written it down.Taff, much of my stuff is in boxes too. When I have a new kitchen I hope it will then have a home. I intend to put a few choice things in the loft now the roof is done. At the moment the pantry has elastic sides with so many faithful banana boxes.I feel like I am getting somewhere. Plasterer coming on Monday to do our bedroom ceiling. Such a lot to do before then. All but empty the room. (Groan) I have nowhere to move stuff to. I will have to move all our clothes onto the spare bed so the extremely heavy furniture can be moved round the room.I have spent the day taking cats separately to the vets. £365 thank you. Fluffy cat drew blood from the vet. Fomo behaved unexpectedly well. I have mended something of MIL’s and finished a couple of charity knitting things.I took some stuff to the chazzer yesterday. I will update numbers later.
Where do you all keep the stuff waiting to be recycled? Plastic for the supermarket, tablet blister packs etc. my house is so small every space is already filled.Vx:9 -
@vulpix re the recycling I have two lidded crates outside my back door. One for recycling that the council takes away (it gets emptied into the recycling bin every couple of days) the other is for supermarket soft plastics and stuff for terracycling etc. The terracycling stuff has jars in the crate so they don’t get mixed in with the plastics. Dead batteries have a small cardboard box under the kitchen sink.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

My recycling is kept in 2 places:
Inside I have a small bin for blue bin stuff (glass, cans, paper, card) behind my waste bin, soft plastic is in an ongoing bag on the worktop with small plastic trays beside. When they are full / too intrusive they go into the box / bag in my bin cupboard outside. Blue & black bins are both collected weekly, soft plastic goes to a supermarket & plastic trays etc go to the tip when I'm passing.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I have black and green bins outside, and keep my recycling in a white I*ea bin which I empty into the green one every couple of days. Green bin emptied weekly and black one fortnightly.
@-taff thank you for explaining your situation. My clutter about 12 years can be linked to extending house and going into the loft so buying more furniture , filling it up, DD1 being v ill and my mum dying, and I just acquired more things... mainly CS bargains!
2 x CS bags taken to Blackheath posher CS and added another 10 vintage glassware.535
Also made crumble with market plums and veggie casserole as DD2 on own as I see friends this weekend and better use of oven than a few veggie sausaged - agree Mrs SD that seeing friends is important. They were all going to stay with me but I felt too much for me at the moment so going to north london. Hopefully next year I can host
No more decorating but have bought the filler for cracks only to find didn't have applicator gun so another trip (shortish walk),.
Packaging to drop LFT to DD1 (B/F has covid) and used up food 537. 2 bottles of wine packed for friends 539 and chocs but don't count as specially bought.
Electrician didn't show up so hoping DIY person may be able to help with one of these (note to ask them)
Will do my meter readings after this. Washed curtains. Put off decorators for the hall again and hope I will finish the room I'm doing so can more furniture.
Hoping those on the EDT are staying safe and well or on the road to recovery x

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedAlthough the sun came out it was very cold with a very chilly wind. Did write a menu plan & sent DH off with the shopping list. DH slept for most of the afternoon & early evening & went to bed before midnight as he is not feeling at all well. I will get him to take an LFT tomorrow. Dinner was risotto cakes & rocket for DSis whilst DH & I had chilli con carne with boiled rice, sour cream & grated mozzarella with a few tortilla chips 🤤🤤 Wudupa.
Have just bagged up the prepared risotto cakes (which I open froze) into 2 bags + 3 bags of chilli con carne. Now nestled in the garage freezer. Also have enough chilli left for Friday night’s dinner.

Baxtersmum, well done on being so ruthless with your paperwork 👏 Keep up the excellent work 🙂
Exciting times ahead, -taff 🙂 Shame about all the disruption but it will be great when all the work is done 👏 Excellent work on reducing your fabric stash - a huge achievement 👏
Great work bit_by_bit 👏 The new house that DS2 is living in sounds rather nice & good that one of his previous house mates is also with him 🙂
EnergyShifter, talking to people is quite stressful especially if it is your job & you are doing it all day. No wonder you are tired. Excellent work making your bedroom a more restful place 👏
Great work Happy_Kitties 👏
Not silly at all vulpix 😉 you have been keeping them for either Justin or Ron 🙂 Is your kitchen being done soon? As to the bedroom ceiling being plastered I don’t envy you having to move heavy furniture around 😬 but it will look lovely when done 🙂 Big ouch re the vet bill 😣
Thanks for recycling storage solutions florianatwobob & Floss & TC77 👏

I can’t believe I am asking advice about recycling. Thank you for your replies. I never thought to keep it outside 🤦♀️ I visit our recycling bin several times a day but I don’t mind as it adds to my steps. Luckily it takes a lot of different types of stuff. It is odd how different authorities have different criteria. It would make sense to me to have a national policy. Where my daughter used to live in a different authority was very poor on the recycling front. I was very surprised as it claims to be a green city.I am not having a new kitchen imminently. I am trying to renovate the house top to bottom. After the bedroom ceiling will be a bathroom. Big job as the only way I can envision a sensible layout is to move a window.Today starts the serious diet. I have put half a stone on since Christmas. I am an emotional eater. My DIL had an ectopic pregnancy at New Year. They were distraught and I was so upset as there was nothing I could do. Stuffing my face won’t help anyone!

@vulpix - I am a 'bored' over eater - reach for the fridge when nothing else to do. I am going to be serious this time and up my steps to ensure minimum 4000 per day. Doing ok in week one despite stressful real life. Taking small people away to coast for two nights - it could be very bracing!
509 Utilities paper folder sorted and lots recycled
510 Various receipts and instructions binned for things I no longer have
511-513 Random items binned

vulpix, I am a tired overeater. I realise I am tired when I shovel the fifth biscuit. Sadly I am often tired so I remain fat.
Been to DS2 today to sort all his clothes out. I came away with 8 bin liners of clothes to sort out. Many will be ok if washed for rags or the CS. His room is sorted into a kitchen, longe and bedroom area now and the 'kitchen' has empty draws. i wouldn't let his start ramming clothes in there.
He needs some bits and bobs which I will sort out for him next week but otherwise he is very happy now he is sorted. The chap downstairs and his mate are crack and heroin addicts. DS2 has his issues but doesn't want to goet inolved. I hope he doesn't.
I also dopped off a pallets worth of plants to Sister's partner but he has covid so no gardening for him today. Going to have a rest then do some work upstairs.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor.
