Today was a very busy day - I was up at five, cleaned up the back yard including the insides of a pillow the dog had torn up, fished toys out of the pool, fed the 2 dogs and 4 cats, did my class work for one of my classes, took one roommate to an appointment and outlined a book while waiting, then took him to a doctor's appointment, home, did the rest of my school work, got two roommates up and went to the library, spent two hours getting books ready for sale, officiated at our Board meeting, took a get well card to person at library, took one of the board members home, took roommate who is leaving for Missouri tomorrow to pick up her medications, went to eye doctor to get another roommate's glasses fixed, to the bank to cash a check, to another store to get prescriptions for two roommates, grocery shopping, home in the rain, unloaded the car and put things away, and then took the trash out after dark. I am no here to for rest and relaxation. Tomorrow I have to get the youngest roommate to the airport.9

I've been right out of it the last while with covid. Still not right, I can do one thing per day which Is usually walk the dog, but otherwise I'm spending most days sitting looking at the house descend into chaos around me. Off sick from work this week which sort f helps.Magnolia Stellata9

Re paperwork I am quite ruthless 🚮 I have gone paperless with almost everything. I keep paperwork for pension as ,I don’t receive it for another 10 years,! 1 years council tax bill,
and insurance (current only) . I keep P60 but wage slips are online. In fact I could do with going through paperwork as it’s the new financial year starting.
I have never had a business so don’t know what needs to be kept re that.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.8 -
I’m quite ruthless with paperwork too. Payslips, P60s and bank statements are online. So are the insurance documents. Household manuals are mainly downloaded.Pension stuff is still hard copies. My pension arrangements are complex, partly as I used to work for a pension company. With that one I’m
trying to make life easier for anyone coming behind me if I pop my clogs before I start claiming (not that im
planning on popping my clogs anytime soon).✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

29th March
Hello lovely EDT declutterers,
I can’t quite believe it’s been almost a month since I last posted, but I’ve been keeping up with you all on an almost daily basis! Love to all in need of it!
Thank you so much for my medal 🏅, Mrs SD, very much appreciated.
Work has continued to be manic as I approach the end of my contract, thought my last day would be either 1st or 5th but found out today, as I’m about to head off to York (6+ hours away) for 3 days, that my last day is 31st March. Bit of stress as I’ve now almost no time to properly transfer all my files and hand everything over as I’m not back until Thursday afternoon!
On a positive note, tiles re-cluttered onto roof so house is watertight again, and finally the scaffolding has been decluttered, as well as £500 from the bank, ouch!
Items decluttered out of the house – 5 pieces of asbestos (possibly) from old shed refurbishment bagged and taken to special part of tip, old mattress and 11 other assorted items to tip, 2 x bags soft plastics and 8 cardboard boxes. 2 large bags bottles from DS’s 18th birthday party! 9 boxes of toys that were in the storage unit now decluttered to the CS, not opened them to count everything but am going to count as 20 items each!
Tidyingwise, have bought a desk for DD2 and changed her double bed for a single, and her room was looking almost completely clean and tidy when we'd finished (doesn’t any more though but is easier to tidy and clean now she has more space in there!). She “tidied” 3 boxes of stuff out of her room, that I then had to sort. I converted this into 2 bags for the CS (not gone yet), a few things she took back once she saw what was in the boxes, and a few bits of stationary that I have put away waiting for me to properly go through the stationary cupboard. She has since been through her wardrobe and drawers and sorted out a lot of clothes and more stationary that she no longer wants, in exchange for being allowed to spend her pocket money and some savings on a new pencil case and backpack. So I’ve now got that all to sort on my return from York!
44 various jobs decluttered from my list of things to do on my phone (also have paper list on my desk but not sure what’s on there so will count those next time). Plus decluttered 3 months’ worth of hair (I keep it really short but it was almost long enough to put into a short ponytail!).
So my total was 814, add 255 = total 1,069 / 5000. Day 88 target is 1,232 at 14 per day, so further behind. But hoping to tackle decluttering and to eat lots of frogs from next week as I won’t be working! Half looking forward to no work and half dreading it as I do enjoy what I do – I’m keeping my fingers crossed that more work will come up, but not for a while!
Not yet finished the half a book I had in progress as I read another in the meantime, Watermelon by Marian Keyes, and am now reading the next book in the series, Rachel’s Holiday, as have book group next Sunday. Total 7/52.
Mending – mended two picture frames which got damaged moving furniture out from DD2s room, plus the mended Christmas decorations have now been tidied away – Total 23/52.
No toiletries finished up from the stash this month, only the refillable shampoo and conditioner.Started eating that BIG FROG for me – diet started and have decluttered 5.8kg / 12lbs, so pleased with that, although my ambitious target in January was 4kg per month!
Love H x
I have a star ⭐ and a medal 🏅 🙂!!!

Hello all, everybody seems to be doing so well, please keep up the good work but don't beat yourselves up if it's not going as quickly as you would like. l know full well the feeling of decluttering failure and sometimes the only stuff leaving the house is the daily detritus 😟 but we must keep on going slowly 🐢. I've realised that the older I become the less tolerance I have in clutter, chaos and mess 😱
MrsSD you spoke too soon as we seem to have decluttered our builder this week because the weather here is back to winter 🥶 and he can't do rendering in the rain apparently, although I did offer to lend him an umbrella ☔😁
On Sunday I decluttered 2 Easter eggs to the DGC along with 2 Easter cards containing money as they will be on hols come Easter time. Out today 2 bins full of green waste 👏 although there's enough piled up at the side of the house ready to fill them up again ! I had a cs bag through the letterbox this morning so as I had 2 almost ready to go out I managed to get the 2 into one, somehow, think tetris. Trouble is that it's so heavy I shall have to get DH to carry it roadside and hope they take it.
Also today I have recycled an empty liquid soap container and I used up some sprouting potatoes in mash. Half we had today in a potato and cheese pie with gammon steaks and beans, the other half now tops a nearly OOD tin of mince beef, usually only kept for Justin and found in my stores inventory today, oops must have missed that one. The cottage pie has been put into the freezer, thus satisfying my waste not, want not thinking 😇
sumb7170 well done on the weight loss, I'm finding it really difficult this time just to lose a few lbs 😟
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need

Evening everyone
I haven't achieved much decluttering, my work life has been very busy. I have taken lots of soft plastics to the SM to recycle and been decluttering emails every day. I have been decluttering food from my freezer so i can defrost it!
Will do better next month - work is less busy and i have some leave

Not sure I'm managing to distract myself from RL but cracking on with some jobs. I have reasoned that circumstances mean stuff will be coming here so I have made sure outside Cabin (was late DH's office) is empty - want to avoid stuff arriving in main bungalow if possible. Took the opportunity to go through girl's toys - mostly much too babyish for two youngest DGDs now.

417 - 419 Pencil box, toy cat and purse to CS bag
420 - 422 Hats x 3 to CS bag
423 - 424 Backpacks x 2 to CS bag
425 - 444 Gloves and scarves from dressing up box to CS bag
445 - 446 Peppa Pig blanket, Face mask and wooden clock to CS bag
447 - Vet's play set and accessories to CS bag
448 - 450 Toddler puzzles x 3 to CS bag
451 Plastic toy baskets to CS bag
452 - 503 Toddler books to CS bag x 52
Several bags in hall now to take to CS tomorrow. Cracking on with diet - day 2. I went swimming this. morning but a bit strange going on my own. I thought I could go in Jacuzzi (which I can't with small ones) but it was out of order. I managed over my minimum of 4000 steps as well. Porridge for breakfast, soup and bag of crisps at lunch time and some batch cooked mince with green veg for tea.
Early start for school run tomorrow but nothing much else going on.

Well, what a busy couple of days.Monday saw the smart meter installs, sadly the gas meter is refusing to pair due to some IT issues so we have another appointment booked for that to be sorted. The gas meter however has moved along the wall and behind the front door so is far less of an eyesore! It may be allowed to stay in the house rather than moved outside eventually.During the install of the electric meter we made the ‘interesting* discovery that the mains cable into the house isn’t properly earthed. UK Power were called to sort the issue and after some talk around 6pm about sorting it there and then and maybe putting us on a generator overnight we negotiated to one more night not making any difference as the problem has been a problem for around 50 years +.Today started with the boiler service (8am) where the boiler man decluttered the old electrodes as they were getting old and worn and replaced them. Then UK power turned up to resolve my earthing problem. I think we got the mature engineers as they knew the ‘old ways’….. They were very pleased with themselves and explained to me what they’d done. I was joining them on the floor so they could tell me what was what.As a result I now know more about electrics and boilers than I did when I woke up this morning! Does that count as decluttering some lack of knowledge? Also decluttered £10 to the window cleaners who also turned up today. Is it only Tuesday? It’s been an eventful week!! I may need a lie down.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
