2022 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD

It continues to be interesting here. Am trying to declutter the backyard due to Husky pup opening up a pillow and spreading it all over the yard. Decluttered a dozen plastic bowls and another dozen plastic planters the dog had chewed. At least they are plastic and can go in the recycling bin. Tried to get youngest roommate to clean room and bring out the dishes she is hoarding, but had to take her to the dentist instead this morning. They started a root canal and will help take her braces out. Even getting another roommate to throw out empty tea bottles is getting difficult. I spend a lot of my day sitting in the car while she was at the dentist's office composing letters which I need to write down - have about twelve frogs I need to take care of soon all involving contacting someone official.10

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedSaturday has been a lovely sunny day with a slight breeze although not particularly warm 🥶 DH’s plumbing fix did stand the wm test. Most of the bedding washed & mainly dried on the whirligig - just finished off in the td. Also one load of clothes washed & td. Phoned my bank & paid cc bill + sorted out financial paperwork & mail. Made guacamole. DH fixed the radiator cover to the wall but will sort out the door tomorrow 🤞DH received a new toy today - a compost aerator 😂 The arrangements for DH’s sister-in-law have been made - the funeral is on the 10th & the celebration of her life is on the 13th. Dinner was veal stroganoff with fettuccine. DSis was undecided, DH thought it was OK & I thoroughly enjoyed it 😋 I used the last of the ‘disappointing’ veal from the freezer. Usually the veal from my butcher is wonderful but this last batch was very tough - whatever I tried 😔 Wudupa.
303 - 311 Kitchen recycling, 2 cardboard boxes, 2 booklets, 0.5” paperwork, paper packaging, glass jar & metal lid, a plastic lime - recycled
312 - 314 Kitchen detritus, broken peg, 0.5” shredding - binnedI thought I saw you in The TLC Carriage, GrannyKate 😉 but you kept disappearing to declutter 👏What a nice surprise Vascodakarma. Well done on making the most of the weather when you weren’t being interviewed by the police 🙃🥲 Only joking - I was going to say ‘helping the police with their enquiries’ 🤭 You have probably been dragged in because each of the warring parties thinks you will side with them 😔wort, what a great idea to only have white plates 👏Very practical & MSE, TripleH 👏 Sounds like are the Jay Blades of the decluttering thread 😉 That will teach you to give your friends a video tour 😉😉
Great work TC77 👏 Shame about the washing up bowl being too large but very generous deciding to donate rather than return 😇Excellent work in your allotment bit_by_bit 👏 The cherry wood sounds very useful - fencing, firewood & wood carving 🤩 Being nosy, what type of things does your friend carve? Are the rental agency having a giraffe 😖 Where the h… is the common sense 😔Sounds like you all (except SiL ☹️) had a wonderful time nannywindow 🙂👏 Swans are very scary & big when they fixate on you - no wonder SiL was upset. However I love the description of your DD as a swan whisperer 😊 No such thing as falling off the EDT - you were merely stocking up on books for when you pop into the TLC Carriage & want a bit of you time 😉 Well done on clearing the laundry mountain 👏
florianatwobob, well done on resisting temptation 👏 Hope your body cooperates & you enjoy your gardening 🙂
vulpix, thank you - I am really looking forward to the whole room being just so 😌 At the moment I am persuading DH to finish each task completely before moving on to the next 😉marrob, well done on the professional upholstery 👏 Great work on clearing some of the electronic clutter 👏Good work short_bird 👏 Hope you have a lovely time reliving your youth 🙂Good work EnergyShifter 👏Great work after such a poor start to the day, Guineapigsqueaks 👏 That is the problem with new cars - too many electronic bits to go wrong 😑 At least with the old mechanical petrol guzzling cars you had a chance of being able to fix it yourself 😉 or at least that is how I remember it 🤣MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

@short_bird hope echo and the bunny men were good. Remember seeing them at the Hammersmith Odeon I think and poss the Lyceum - yep must be over 35 years ago!
Met 3 friends at the cinema yesterday, first visit for over 2 years only to find mechanical issue with the projector so sat in the bar (quiet as most people in other films) and had lovely chat and catch up. I think back to my plans for the quarter of this year (the decorating which was planned for last year - and then will need carpet) etc but for good reasons for some of the delay but realise if I am not going to have constant battle with stuff need to change tack. Clothes are an issue (the ones in wardrobe and unworn less of an issue as have space) but the almost gardening ones I have and wear for work (when no meetings I need my camera on for) or keep for warmth in the house. Not good enough for charity shop, as jumper may have pulls etc but seem too good for textile recycling so I rotate them and think when I get to do painting will get used up.
Few successes 318 - 326 coffee set and spaghetti jar to CS and didn't buy anything
327 phone calls to move things along
328 garden digging - had someone do the garden and they didn't dig deep enough for major weeds. Thought I'd need to get someone in so pleased that I've done about 1/3 so far.
Have frog to move forward - I count each phase which helps with motivation and recognition that you can't eat them whole often.
Hope to report progress later, inspired by everyone and their journeys @weenancyinAmerica how caring and busy you have been. Mrs SD that's good arrangements for your sister in law have been made. This is the first time I've really had to make arrangements. Next week going down to the New Forest to meet the celebrant and other arrangements, and so grateful for my brother sharing responsibilities. Plan at later date to meet cousins (most can't attend) and celebrate the lives of the older generation (now all gone) and bring photos to share and recollect.13 -
Hello Mrs SD may I join the train, have been in & out the last year. I have managed to declutter several items to CS, sold some making a space though lots to get through in my spare room of doom where I store extra cleaning products and many more of other items
Hugs allround M12 -
25 antique linens out to CS
123+25= 148/365
It was a frosty morning last Thursday and I was getting the CS stuff into bags( already counted) when I just decided that I could get rid off a few bits of the french linen stuff that I have, using the mantra - do I really want to keep this.
Well, as I stood up there on the step ladder in the walk-in dressing I realised that to sell at a brocante I would have to iron them, I caught myself on- NI expression for saw sense, and set a target of 20 items out/ At 20 I then threw in 5 antique- term used loosely- chemises . The charity I support helps abused women - so the ladies of old with their chemises are helping their sisters of today. And I now have a half-empty bag. Win-win
Thanks Mrs SD for your concern about us and the storms. We had no storms; it is just continuing with heavy frost in the morning and sunny warmish afternoons. However we usually get trees down regularly if wind after lots of rain - loosened roots - we are coming into the season now.
All well here and out decluttering weeds in the afternoons,.
My thoughts are with you all with struggles , whatever they are.
Keep safe everyone.

We have been very lucky here - Storm Eunice might have taken a chunk of roof off The O2 but our damage was restricted to one fence panel blown down - undamaged & lying flat in ndn’s garden + a couple of pieces of garden furniture moving about. The only other minor inconvenience was that every time we opened the front door we were attacked by dead leaves 🙂 As it was so windy, no sm trip for DH - motorbikes & blustery gale force winds do Not mix. Dinner was pork steaks, mash & peas. DSis treated us to a chocolate buttons Easter egg 🥳 Will do the wudupa after posting.
259 - 260 Kitchen recycling, magazine - recycled
261 Kitchen detritus binnedSiebrie, what a thoughtful post. The systems you have in place are an excellent way to keep potential clutter moving out of your home 👏Fingers crossed that your post office will accept parcels, donna73 🤞Thank you EnergyShifter.
bargainbetty, I see you found the silver lining to the gales 😉 (🤞 that the wind will change direction & your wheelie bin will find its way home) Excellent work on your admin 👏 Like with like really is a good system 🙂 Nothing wrong with baby steps as they soon turn into giant strides 👏
bit_by_bit, the only trouble with growing spuds in the driver footwell is that it makes getting at the pedals soooo difficult 😉😂 Lovely comments & yes please I would love a medal 🏅👏TripleH what a wonderful attitude, thank you for sharing 👏What an absolutely brilliant photo Vascodakarma 👏 “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home etc” So very sorry to hear that you are strufggling at the moment Vascodakarma - lots of hugs 🤗 & kisses 😽 coming your way.Gem-gem, sorry to hear about your friend, so young ☹️ Good news about your BIL 🙂 So much for the number of positive tests going down 😖 Here’s hoping that your step sister only has a mild case & that everyone else stays Covid free 🤞Great decluttering & well done on saving money by using up stocks of toiletries 👏 One medal 🏅 on its way.Oh accidentalglixch I just want to wrap you up in cotton wool & give you loads of hugs 🤗 🤗 Life really is not being kind to you ☹️ Reading about your old employers it smacks of being constructive dismissal & makes me so angry 😡
So very sorry to hear about your Nan - she sounds like she was very supportive of your gothy/punk style 🙂 Remi sounds like he is being a little minx but keeping you happy if tired 😉 As to the doctors, seems an odd decision to make at this point 🤔I am very happy that you are now back with us & hopefully your new job will help you to get back to feeling more like you 🤞 Great work on the electronic decluttering 👏 & well done on starting a cleaning routine 👏
Guineapigsqueaks, fingers crossed that you can get someone in quickly to look at the roof & carry out any necessary repairs🤞Very lucky that it was just the daffodils that got damaged 🍀 Stay safe.
Good work short_bird 👏 “February's a cruel month at the best of times. And this isn't.” - how very true. I seem to remember that February 2018 was bad with The Beast from the East ☹️ I see I have been a bit remiss - one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for your 666 items decluttered 🙂MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟
Decluttering Target: 261/2022
2022 - 1p Savings Challenge: Running Total £17.92
Thanks Mrs-S-D
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I wasn't fired but I wasn't told if I was going to move teams or if I'd lose my job but every other team member was told they were moving teams. I was uncertain about my future there so I jumped ship, as it were. I start tomorrow which I am nervous but excited about.
Yeah my nan was pretty chilled and not how you'd expect her to be. she was more supportive than my other nan (i don't really get on with but am civil). The Funeral on Thursday was really lovely... I've asked my Auntie for a copy of the service and the little service booklet so I can cherish her life now.
Aha that's true ... but I don't mind so much. Just wasn't in a good mental state to 'put up' with it (i would never hurt him or anything)
Remi's been away from me for a few days as I stayed over my parents for the funeral and felt really down so I wanted to stay for a few extra days which was unplanned but glad I did. Remi has grown up so much in these last few days, more 'dog' than a rampant puppy ☹️ He's not a baby anymore !!
ON WITH DECLUTTERING;
#7 - Hoodie has been binned since Remi ripped it all up ... I was wearing it but it was made of flimsy material which ripped easily when Remi jumped up to play or for cuddles. It was from a charity shop anyway so I don't mind so much!
#8- A bunch of Remi's destroyed toys went in the bin
#9 - Brand new phone purse case had to be thrown out ; My phone got ran over by a car, the teeth of the zipped pocket had been squashed so I had to cut the purse bit to get them out 🤣🤣
I need to tidy the garden & remove all of the waste that the storms/wind has blown...
but I don't have the motivation to do it 🤣🤣

Onto building a life I love x10 -
Afternoon all. I am keeping busy and trying not to watch the news. Putin is terrifyingly insane.
I continue to add tasks to my list as this morning the boiler stopped working! It looks like the pressure in the system, I have read the manual, but it's not entirely clear which levers to pull/ buttons to press to resolve, and I am a bit reluctant to mess with boilers! So, I shall call my plumber tomorrow and see if he can pop around asap. It's due a service anyway, and a few radiators need bleeding also. Just hope it's easily resolved and there isn't a leak somewhere. I have always resisted running shower off boiler, so we still have electric shower, plus gas fire in front lounge if it gets a bit chilly without heating. Or big jumpers, blankets and hot water bottles.
Online food shop arrived and all put away, washed hair, nipped into town to get some cash, took old phone to sell to CeX, they are testing it, but hopefully get about £40 voucher for it, and a bit of clutter gone.
I have some paperwork I could do, but I have decided just to look at it from afar.
The sun is shining and it's lovely out. Daffodils all bobbing in garden, except for the couple that got squashed by the slate that blew off the roof.

Well the plans did continue as planned!
This morning I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed and, despite the best combined efforts of my sadistic Pilates instructor on Friday and dancing last night I wasn’t too kaput.Decluttering today has included:
✏️ 2 plants out of their pots into the ground
✏️One broken beyond salvage garden chair has been dismantled and some is in the general waste bin
✏️ The very full dead garden trug has been emptied. It’s lovey clay-y, soggy earthy contents is now filling a dip behind the shed. The dead trug is now in the bin. (Very pleased to have got rid of that eyesore as it’s been bugging me)
✏️ The spaghetti nest of grape hyacinth leaves have been cut back. They’ve not properly died back for the last two years and were in need of a tidy up as a result. I appear to have got to them just in time as the flowers are just about 2 inches high. I’ve left plenty of leaf still before anyone panics about my unorthodox gardening!✏️ Decluttered last years lolly sticks to become plant markets. It does mean we need to eat more lollies now though….such hardships!✏️ All the soft plastics taken to recycling. The situation in Ukraine 🇺🇦 is very concerning. In efforts to feel more useful i decluttered some money to a charity working with Ukrainian refugees and displaced people yesterday. I hope it makes a difference, no matter how small to someone.
Chicken casserole for tea today and then a well deserved wallow in the bath for me later.

Sounds like fun @nannywindow.
Great use of time @weenancyinAmerica. When my kids were at things and I ahd to wait that is how I kept on top of things.
Thankyou MrsSD. my friend makes love spoons and little birds mostly. She did a great wall hanging of a climbing man a few years back for her son who is a proper advenrurer climber. I am going back to MiL for some more twiggy brances to do a weave at the top of my friends fence and the with the leftovers make some habitat piles. Nothing is wasted
I took all the wood to the allotment as well as some bags of sand to complete a sitting area project. I also did a bit of digging, it didn take long. I am doing a bit each time I go over now as I get the plot ready for planting.
When I go home I helped DH stack the wood he had got from MiL after he had chopped it.
I hope to do some decluttering once the weather starts going downhill but its too good to miss being outside right now.

Hello all. I too am trying not to watch too much news, I feel so sad for the poor innocent people, on all sides 😢 Wish we could send aid to the countries that are taking in refugees though, or do something physical to help.
Anyway today I sorted the dry clothes mountain and put it all away for our next hols, we are determined to get away in our touring caravan this year. Luckily most items don't need ironing, phew !! I put all the empty bags away tidily and didn't leave them jumble sale style as I did yesterday. The sleeping bags have been hung up in the spare room to air. I threw out my old toothbrush and replaced it with a new one, then in the cs bag went a body spray ( I didn't like it ) a pair of never worn very thick bed socks ( I couldn't get my slippers on over the top of them and they didn't have a non slip sole ) In too went a brand new bra, still with the tag on as I seem to have bought the wrong size before lockdown and didn't notice, doh ! In the recycling a plastic milk carton and an empty corne*to box, finished the last of the ice creams last night as we're back on the diets, so had them as a last fling 🍦 !
MrsSD I'll put my new books into the TLC carriage for all to read, don't feel so bad now 😊
Accidentalglixch good luck for tomorrow in your new job.
Guinepigsqueaks hope the boiler fix is a quick easy job and not too expensive
Weenancy sorry you're having to fight with your room mates to get anything sorted, especially the Husky mess 😮 Hugs
Take care all
