I have lost track completely of my decluttering total. Need to backtrack. A few things have come in but also constant stream of things leaving. Constantly have a CS pile on the go as discover things I don't love, don't work for me, fit properly or enjoy.
Have our new TV stand, built and in place. Love it and now going to have a coffee table built to match it. Decluttering a large sideboard tomorrow, I acquired for free from a local group and wasn't quite right. So it's being collected by 10am tomorrow.
Not much achieved this week due to getting and recovering from a tummy bug, whilst on annual leave but had a nice break last weekend in Devon.9 -
Mrs SD, how fab having the carpet and room done and the colour scheme working !
I'm not so good at colours. Took curtain back to CS as not long enough, they have some lovely sky blue poole pottery plates - 13 of them, and have been tempted and resisted 3 times. Mentioned my many different colour glass collections in previous posts (some now decluttered) -well most of my plates are white which can be boring. I think harder to resist clutter when feeling overwhelmed by other things. I made myself count my plates (there may be more in boxes on top of kitchen shelves but hoping not) 10 big white dinner plates, 3 large clear glass, about 10 medium or side plates white (less side plates), and 4 clear. Then I have my grandmother's china which is v pretty - white with flowers around from about 1910/20 . I didn't use in case valuable but apparently not - have 8 side plates, 9 medium plates, 9 large plates and 10 soup bowls. Also 2 massive tureens and a 2 platters (2 more tureens at my dad's house). Most are at back of cupboards with stuff in front so not an issue.
Why am I looking at more CS plates?
Rambling but really trying to recognise that I have an abundance and must use the nice ones even if the dish washer isn't great for them11 -

Today was the return of the very posh carpenter for a flying visit…..he has been pondering my head scratcher of a bath panel and had come up with with a mock up to try. The mock up works and he’s popping back next week to take some proper measurements when he has more time. It’s been lovely outsourcing the head scratching to someone else for a change!@TC77 we have some of my Grandma’s China which is squirrelled away. Well, I say Grandma’s because some of it is Grandma’s and some of it is the same pattern (bone china tea service with pale green edge fading to white centres and pale pink rosebuds painted on the rims) and vintage that we acquired from the bay of e.My sister and I got the right hump when our mum sent some of the original china over to America to our cousin’s wife, who then promptly passed it on to her grandmother!
Now the Grandma that this china belonged to was our mum’s MIL and Mum could’ve sent it over to our aunt in America (who was Grandma’s daughter). Anyway our thoughts were overridden……Imagine our excitement when we found more of the service on the bay of e quite by chance about 10 years ago. We think our bits were probably a wedding present to our grandparents in the mid 1920s and I remember it still being used in the 1980s.There are no plans to declutter that. We’ve still got some of Grandma’s cutlery in daily use!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Evening (well morning) all.
We haven't managed very much at all this week. I had so many plans and have done pretty much nothing.
The children have been off school and dd2 has had her birthday. I bought dd1 her pushchair so 4 hugd boxes currently sat in the hall but shes supposed to be collecting those tomorrow. So more things into the house than out this week.
Dd2 has her first cheer competition this weekend so has spent a lot of time at practice. I have to be up for half 6 but can't sleep at all so just came back down for a hot chocolate and thought I'd update the weeks tiny progress.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedDidn’t quite stick to the plan ☹️ Radiator cover has been built but is freestanding. DH will add wall fixings later today. The bed frame has been dusted & wiped & put back together. Vacuumed the new carpet twice more. New bedding has been added. The new underlay & carpet is so thick that the door will not close so DH needs to sort that out 😔 My task will be to clean the windows & window sill. I also vacuumed the upstairs hallway, the stairs & the whole of downstairs 🙂 The acid test for the plumbing fix is to run the wm which I will do & wash the old bedding which I am hoping to line dry (at least partially). Dinner was ribeye for DH & fillet for DSis & me with oven chips & roasted tomatoes, fried mushrooms & garden peas. Delicious 😋 🤤 Wudupa

Hope that helps 🙂 Sorry to hear that you have been unwell 🤒 but hopefully you are on the mend 🤞
Thanks TC77 - the only thing that doesn’t match/complement the colour scheme is the bedding ☹️ I can see a small spending spree in my future 😉😉 That is a lot of crockery 😬Excellent decluttering Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏
florianatwobob, yippee to posh carpenter coming up with a solution to the bath panel 👏 How lovely to have some of grandma’s China - hopefully it is on show as it sounds beautiful 🙂charlies_tribe, still a good amount of decluttering done 👏 Is your daughter cheerleading as part of a team? I had quite a good day yesterday and was planning to catch up with laundry but I woke up to find this on my doorstep.
A reminder to register with your utility companies if you have a priority needs. You don’t necessarily have to be on benefits or show proof of income. If you have any health concerns, chronic illness are shielding or use extra fuel/water etc it’s worthwhile letting your know energy and Internet suppliers know. Some of the fuel suppliers offer a protected tariff as well as expedient service in the event of power cuts.
The weather is incredible for this time of year so I’m going out to reclaim my garden. I Crusoe-d the house this week 😉 and kept track of the days! 🙌🥂
Only ‘cos the Police kept coming around! 😂😂😂 3 times!! 😂😂 it’s a long story and I’m going to see how it plays out over the weekend . . It’s all about boundary disputes and parking. I’m a tenant and I don’t drive so I don’t know why I’ve been dragged into this 😂8 -
@TC77 well done on resisting the crockery. You don’t seem to have a lot of the glass plates perhaps they could be decluttered? With regard to the plates etc belonging to Grandma perhaps use them at weekends if not everyday when you have time to appreciate them and think of her as you hand wash them🥰
p.s. I have white crockery as the food looks nice on them and can be replaced easily if one breaks. They match any decor or theme if you have people round too.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.9
