Aaaargghh typed and lost the post!!
A quick trundle around Ripon today and I came away with a pair of dark cerise leggings, (for wearing round the house only!!) by Bonmarche, BNWT, originally £16 and chazza price £6 and very nice quality. Also picked up a pair of dark purple, ankle grazer trousers by Principles, originally £20 but chazza price £4.99.
Sorry Brie but I cannot think of a single reason why you should not festoon yourself with scarves of every hue/fabric/size and shape!!

Might have to post a photo some day of me in scarves and nothing else!! I would end up looking like I'm wearing motley!! (don't worry about them being too revealing....I have more than enough scarves to preserve my modesty!) (not that I actually have any modesty!!!)

I wandered down to a shop called Shared Space in Westcliff-on-sea today. It is quite reasonable in price and I bought quite a lot in there. Two black Wallis tunic dresses, a black Primark top with white stars, a blue BHS vest top, two floaty, sheer vest tops (one blue, one black) and some black shorts. That all came to £25. I could have bought a lot more as they had a lot of nice things there. I will definitely be going there again.:) I like the way they had put all the separate colours together as I wear mostly black, blue and red. I find it annoying when charity shops jumble different colours of clothes together for some reason. I'm very pleased with the dresses as they are lightweight despite being black so they will be good in this next heatwave with some sandals.:)

Bewdley today.
Saltrock t shirt for son 2. White with a picture of a classic car with surfboards on the roof. (Or for son1, if it's too small for son2).
M and Co long sun dress.
VW long vest top.
Quite wanted Josh Widdecombe's book but reluctant to pay for a new one so pleased to see it for £3 today.

A worthwhile trip to Otley today, despite the heat! From the 99p St Gemma's Hospice shop I got a b/n black cotton cable knit sweater, (think it may be a man's due to the sleeve length but very wearable). Also got a black M & S thick, long sleeved t-shirt. (building up my stock of layers ready for the promised grim winter, fuel-wise!). Then in the 20p shop I found a b/n tan leather cross-body strap with clippy things at each end - just perfect for a tote bag that is missing it's shoulder strap. Also got a genuine Pyrex 12" mixing bowl in clear glass. Then in the BHF shop I got a pair of Levi 550's, relaxed fit with tapered legs for £5.99. Now, despite wearing jeans all my life I have never ever owned a pair of Levis before! (And at my age I probably shouldn't now but..... pfffffttt) I fancy wearing them with a white shirt tucked in, white sneakers and mebbe the black sweater nonchalantly slug over the shoulders??? (Don't laugh!
) I had quite forgotten what proper jeans are like as I'm soooo used to stretch denim....bit like wearing a corset innit????? *No give*

An odd answer indeed. My mum (now in her 80’s) has always held strong opinions on jeans. They are apparently male work wear and should not be worn by women or by any male not doing a manual job. Not sure if such a view would be relevant to the era of your book. I think such views may have been common as neither parents or grandparents ever wore jeans.8

I would be lost without my beloved jeans.5

I recognise that opinion quoted above. I, too, have never worn blue denim jeans. I could start but blue is not one of my colours.6
