@Pollycat I’m dead jealous of your pink DMs.
A few good items for me of late:
Joules French navy and white striped heavy cotton jersey T shirt dress £7.
M and S denim colour leggings with zips at the ankle £2
An A5 size clipboard 59p. I don’t miss anything about teaching now I’m retired except the excuse to have stationery.
A small cool bag for upcoming festival and camping £3.50.
Book for DGS £1
A cute little tiny stainless steel teaspoon 20p. I think it’s for boiled eggs.
And best of all, even though I don’t strictly need it, a White Stuff grey blue velvet coat with a funnel neck £8.50. It’s in good condition but I think quite old as it has the flower on the label rather than the writing. I saw a navy version in a CS last week for £20 and I have a Boden pink velvet coat that I bought 4 years ago in a CS for £40, and love, so it seemed like a bit of a bargain as well as sparking joy. I’m a summer person so I need nice winter stuff to cheer me up.9 -
I seem to have hit my stride this week as I've managed to snap up another of my much wished for items namely Ottolenghi The Cookbook for the bargain price of £1.49 in Age UK, how brilliant is that!
The other things I found on their shelves were a silicon whisk and spatula from The Hummingbird Bakery which were both 99p and a Kilner jar for £3.99.
Then I went on to the Barnardo's shop and found two lovely Fanny Craddock BBC booklets printed to accompany her TV programme in the 60s for 50p each (originally 2s 6d) and a Kilner bottle for £1.
All these things were such good value that I'm almost ashamed to own to having paid £2.50 in the BHF shop yesterday for a container of pastel coloured bulldog clips in three sizes but they will be so useful so I'm keeping them.

I keep looking for Ottolenghi but never see anything of his round my way. Had to use a currency converter to check the price of the Craddock - appears they originally would have been selling for the equivalent of 13p!! But 50p each is still a bargain just to see what she had to say.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. You can get a lot of fun for 2&6 - airmail stamps to South Africa in the 1950s (my Aunt found a 10/ note & there was a brief domestic debate as to what this windfall should go on & they were agreed on several Proper Letters [not these flimsy air messages] to their sister teaching over there. My adored Home Preservation of Fruit and Vegetables (Min Of Ag Fish & Food) was 9/6 but ye gods it remains definitive until you have a fruit its never heard of like a jostaberry!

I went in search of the infamous 'faux or not faux' bag in Northallerton.
Wasn't visible from the street on my jolly by....
I was telling my husband all about it in the bakery LOL
One small purchase, 1 book, a quick read size, £1 from Yorkshire Cancer Charity.
I went in search of large pots, waste paper baskets etc for a decorative pot for my latest houseplant addition but nothing forthcoming.

I bought this coat a couple of weeks ago from local hospice shop.
£7.00 Next, the pockets are still stitched up and the plastic bag with spare button is attached to the care label.
I'm not keen the buttons. I've been in my local haberdashery shop and can't find any I like.
So yesterday I bough a Ben Sherman jacket with 8 buttons for £2.00.
I'm thinking of putting mock buttons above and below the existing ones with giant press-studs.
Opinions please.6 -
I'd prefer buttons as I'd always be popping the studs. But I am not size 12. Or 14. Or 16.......
Nice coat btw.

Thanks, Brie.
The coat has one buttonhole and I don't want to go to the trouble of doing another 2. I'm not sure I'm up to it anyway.
I have other coats that have mock buttons and fasten with press studs.
I'm after the same effect on this coat with just the single existing buttonhole.5
