Nothing much to report this week....just an M & S oversized shirt in fine cotton lawn in a sage green shade for 99p. Also found some nice b/n Boden trousers in a dark lavender colour priced at £6.50 but the fit was peculiar....huge in the waist and hips but really skinny in the legs so returned them.6

I nearly didn't buy anything at the car boot sale this week but succumbed at the last minute to £1's worth of various yarns equivalent to about three average balls of wool. There are some fabulous colours in the form of 25g balls, the size I've seen sold for crafts but a different texture. I'm looking forward to trying them out!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I had a good chazzer afternoon yesterday. I found a draped glamorous blouse for £1, but rejected a scarf that coincidentally would have matched perfectly because it was dry clean only. I was actually looking for homeware and came out with 3 single-sized melamine tea trays, including a "Vermeer" (think girl with the pear
earring - style) for total of £1, and a giant (?2L) stainless steel kettle for £1. (It was a bit grotty by dissolving a small fraction of an old d/w tablet in hot water restored it to its best). And one of these, BNWT for just £3:

Interested to hear of your yarn finds! I still have two big bags full of yarn that I was given by a Freecycler - now just have small amounts of each colour and type left and wondering what to do with it. So far I have knitted a pair of stripey socks and two stripey jumpers and I really don’t need any more!! May I ask what you do with small amounts of lots of different colours as I could do with some inspiration!Cherryfudge said:I nearly didn't buy anything at the car boot sale this week but succumbed at the last minute to £1's worth of various yarns equivalent to about three average balls of wool. I have many scarves - silk, cashmere, wool - that say 'dry clean only' as well as lots of clothing items that say the same.Rosa_Damascena said:I had a good chazzer afternoon yesterday. They all go into the washing machine on 'delicate' and I've not had a failure yet.

I haven't done this yet but it seems a perfect way of using up odds and ends: big knit (innocentdrinks.co.uk)Miró said:

Alternatively, scraps of colour to give extra life to knitted or denim garments if you can embroider or swiss darn, and then there are charities like Teddies for Tragedies, or hospitals may welcome baby clothes or blankets especially for premmies.
Hope this helps!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I tend to hand wash my scarves as i know some will not be dye fast and don't want to end up with a mess of brown ones!!Pollycat said:

Picked up these storage jars at £1.50 each. The art teacher where I used to work had a row of them and I'd always liked them.
I just looked up how much they sell for now!!
