I nearly visited charity shops on my way home but desisted as I had so many wonderful bargains already!
Today I bought 2 books for 30p each from a local chazzer, and a nice bundle of from my local library for 20p each including a Booker Prize winner and one that is suitable for gifting. Also a couple of packs of Disney post-it notes (250 per pack) for my little niece for 50p each, she likes writing messages in "best writing" so she will be thrilled. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -

Excellent value on your books and the post-it notes. A good day's hunting all round!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I forgot to say, I also bought these yesterday for 50p not quite knowing what they are but seeing the potential to hang stuff from them:
Google tells me they are clips to hold down tablecloths, handy for the summer I suppose. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Restaurants in Greece and Turkey have them but usually in chrome.6 -
Youngest uses them to hold paper onto his easel, local museum stall at events uses them to hold table cloth & signage in place - theirs are steel.6

Looks handy for when you have a 6 year old whose idea of dinner time is grab at random and run!5

I snapped up a copy of Ottolenghi's Nopi, £8, in the hospice shop and then across the road in the Oxfam shop bric-a-brac basket I found two cherry stoners, £1.49 and 99p, and bought both as I couldn't decide which would work better. I also found an unusual shape baking tin, £1.49, a storage tin with a see through lid, 99p, a Pasta Evangelists ravioli cutter, £2.99 and an olive/pickled onion spoon, 99p.
I knew if I just waited long enough that a cherry stoner would come along but to find two together seems almost miraculous. I plan to test them thoroughly on cherries and olives and then go from there, does anyone find them good for sloes? I ended up composting the sloes left over after I'd drunk my gin as the flesh didn't taste nice enough to be worth the labour of stoning them, what do others do?8 -
I love my kitchen gadgets! I don't think my mum was impressed when she was helping me put my kitchen back together and found 3 cherry pitters
Did you really pay £8 for the cookbook? No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I seem to remember nibbling on the sloes left over after making sloe gin! Maybe add more sugar?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Picked up a pair of beige chinos by Casual Club in Age Concern in Northallerton yesterday for £3.25. Nice fit and lovely 'Softall' fabric.3
