The perfect knitting bag! I once received a free tote bag with a yarn order: co-incidentally the company name was the same as my Christian name so that's now my go-to knitting bag.

This morning's car boot netted a Christmassy mug which will be a gift (10p) and an old Denby coffee pot for £2. I'm gloating over that coffee pot!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I went into two hospice shops the other day as I need some summer tops. I managed to get 4 tops, one pink, two red and an olive coloured vest. All for £8.
There seems to be a lot of Christmas tops in the shops near me! I like red so I kept veering towards them on the racks and then seeing that they had slogans about Santa Claus. Lol.7 -
I walked up to the Barnardo's shop yesterday and found Australian Women's Weekly Thai recipe book for 50p. Then I popped across the road to the Oxfam shop and snapped up a Prestige 22cm loose bottomed cake tin, £3.99, and a metal strainer that fits perfectly into my wide mouth Kilner jars for £1.99.
Here are the cake tin and strainer
perched on top of a pile of cookbooks and boxes in my kitchen. I've given them both a good wash and all the marks on the tin came off really easily so I'm very pleased to have bought it."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

I seem to have hit a golden streak lately, on Monday I popped into my favourite BHF shop as I was passing and snaffled this very deep ice tray with a lid and a lovely Family Circle vegetable book with some really useful info as well as nice looking recipes.
Then, this morning, I had a prowl around the Age UK, Barnardo's and Oxfam shops and bought Patrick Rance's book on French Cheese for 50p. I still can't believe I've snaffled such a bargain, the cheapest second hand copy online is nearly £14.
I also snagged this lovely Pyrex loaf tin for £2.99.
It doesn't look as though it's ever been used and I'm really interested in trying out the design to see if it's as helpful as I hope.
I did pick up some tops that I'm hoping will fit and flatter me but I'll wait until I've tried them on tomorrow morning before showing them off on here. Night all and sweet dreams, goldfinches.

Found some nice scarves over the last couple of days. First one - a huge square in shades of burgundy, emerald green and gold that will go nicely with two winter coats, 99p in the St Gemma's Hospice Shop. Then today in the Sue Ryder Hospice Shop I found a b/n heavy silk scarf still in it's presentation box and wrapping in muted tones of cream and blush pink and priced at £3. It's a Jim Thompson scarf from Thailand and I can truly say it 'sparks joy'.10
