I know. One of the few places I buy stuff in the UK is Land's End as normally it's good quality cotton and generally I can get something to fit. Otherwise I wait until I'm visiting Canada where I guess I'm more the normal profile.
I gave up on M&S a number of years ago - cheap quality and all polyester for larger sizes it seemed. Not helped by a saleswoman being rude about a skirt I wanted. It was exactly what I was after and fit but they only had the medium length on the rail, not the longer one. When I asked the lovely woman said something like "no we don't make that in long because fat people are generally quite short." Might have been on of those times I dropped an item of clothing on the floor and walked over it on my way to the exit.6 -
Another good day in the chazza shops today after a few lean weeks. First find was a pair of B/N Massimo Dutti pale brown pure wool flannel trousers with pleated fronts and turn ups for £5 in the Martin House hospice shop. Here they are on EBay...

Then in the St Gemma's hospice shop they had a rail of ladies trousers all at 99p per pair...got myself a smart black slim fit pair. Labels for both make and fabric/care had been cut out but look B/N.
Finally in the Community Shop I picked up what I thought was just a cute little s/s pan for heating up small amounts priced at 75p. Turns out it's a Turkish coffee pot!! Just about to set about it with the old Barkeepers Friend!!!

I wasn't sure our local charity shops could help son1 in his quest to dress as a Peaky Blinder for a party tonight... (He also found a flat cap)

Bluebird salt and pepper pot set, look very 1950s kitsch. I don't need a salt and pepper pot set but I loved them. £10, immaculate condition, their previous owner had definitely loved and cared for them, or disliked them and never used
. From my local Mencap shop. Plus a lucky find replacement Mason Fruit Basket dinner plate in green. I cracked one of mine a couple of weeks ago, £3.50 from Age Concern, bargain, would have cost me about £20 to replace online.

Here are my little Bluebirds. They are much more vivid in colour than photo suggests. Edited to add: I have since found an identical pair on Etsy for £35! Can't seem to add link but it is listing 740167822 if you'd like to see a better photo! Guineapigsqueaks x

Those pots are just full of the wonderful kitsch vibes.
I could really see them adorning a little table on a narrowboat or some such placeWealth is not measured by currency5 -

Love the Peaky Blinders look.
I've had a good haul recently.
Went to the city last Saturday and bought 5 dresses:
2 x George brightly coloured, perfect for summer days on holiday. £1.00 each from some odd charity shop that I've never heard of.
Boden summer dress in shades of pink/lime and gray £4.50 and a TU multicoloured 3/4 sleeve dress £4.50 - both from Local hospice.
TU tartan dress £2.00 Air Ambulance
I've cleared out 4 dresses so that's OK.
Yesterday I bought a Wallis summer maxi dress in fab colours of jade/orange/blue/purple/yellow. I'm going to shorten it to knee length. £5.00 Mencap.
