@Brie - I nipped over to Youtube to listen to the trio singing Sandman and don't their voices blend well together, lovely sounds.
@Frith - lovely shades, clever you to spot them.
I had a prowl through a couple of shops this morning on my way home from the dry cleaners and found a copy of "Best-kept Secrets of the Women's Institute TARTS" £3 and Rhubarbaria - Recipes for Rhubarb £3 both in the Oxfam bookshop so I snapped them up. Chilled rhubarb, ginger and elderflower soup anyone or maybe you'd prefer a blackcurrant and cracked caramel tart? I'm sitting here drooling over the recipes before I toddle off to bed to dream that calories simply never count!9 -
Oh forgot to mention having come home from Poole and toddling about the house for a while I went out to buy some tea and shampoo from a health food place I like (heath's valerian tea &Cyril's goat shed shampoo bar) and inevitably went into one of several CS that are nearby but only to drop off a couple of books and CDs. HAH! Of course I looked at some things, decided that the lovely scarf was not silk, so resisted, questioned their pricing of a pristine bunnikyns child's bowl (£7.50 which is cheap but apparently had generated no interest.) But they had 2 nice art books (how to) for £1.50 so got those.
Then popped into another which inevitably had a lovely selection of scarves and I ended up getting 2. In my defence 1 is for a work friend whose birthday is next month. It's lovely muted rose and gray with hedgehogs!! She loves her hedgehogs and I'd found a hedgehog card as well. She's the one who always wants to see the scarves I buy and knows that the line "a woman walks into a charity shop" ends with "and buys a scarf.". We get along very well but as I'm being made redundant in a couple of weeks we are unlikely to see each other again after that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Did you know that The Eagles (of Hotel California fame) started out as a backing band to Linda Ronstadt?6 -
@Pollycat - no I didn't know that, fascinating, thankyou.
@Brie - clever you to find a hedgehog scarf and card, congenial colleagues are worth cherishing IMHO. The Bunnykins price seems a bit on the low side to me too, odd, maybe people aren't so keen on it nowadays."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

I didn't get to the charity shop today but had some good car boot finds: two scarves at 20p each, an antique vase (gaudy-esque Welsh so probably between 100 and 200 years old, but as damaged as it's charming) for £1, three old fashioned knitting booklets at 10p each and three balls of yarn for £1.
Resisted a dark teal chenille jumper, a quilted coat and some large cones of yarn and crochet cotton because I simply can't justify them.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
