This is the second tme I've wrote a long post and lost it clumsy fingers.Anyway short version turnaround's shop has the right policy a local shop here has more full black bags than they can cope with. the assistant said some will go to another shop and they won't be able to sell them either. The stock already on the rails was slow moving too.Something's gone wrong with the whole charity thing over management and greed I don't know.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)
Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.

Late to the thread, but until recently DD was studying in Edinburgh (and she still has her digs there till mid July). When I went at the end of Jan she took me to her favourite chazzer. It was like all my items I used for best had been given there -lol. I got a very good condition pink Radley handbag for £20.5

Quite agree about the Mary Portas ideas.
Our shop is cheap and cheerful and one of those places where you have no idea what you may find. You really need time to browse. People can leave with an item of clothing, a washing up bowl, 2 jigsaws, a pair of reading glasses and a couple of mugs for less than fiver. Much more fun than seeing a nicely placed matching cup and saucer at £3.99!
I hate those shops which try to look like a designer store with items folded neatly trying to be a step up from the average charity shop. Lets be fair, we all go for a bargain, not to pay £4.50 for a tee shirt which would be about £5.99 new.10 -

There are certain charity shops that I rarely visit because of their pricing policy.
Items are donated.
Recognise that a Primark t shirt sells for £2.50 so don't price a mis-shaped, faded ono for £2.00.
I think Mary Portas has a lot to answer for..7 -
