You must be related to my MiL! We bought her a nice sunhat from M&S a few years back and bought a girl's medium. Had to take it back for the smaller size!!Pollycat said:Oh - and a (hopefully) waterproof hat that is reversible - maroon on one side, navy on the other. Will go with 2 of my coats. And it fits. I have a very small head and have been known to wear age 7 sunhats.
And I'm on your side @killerpeatyabout @Sayschezza being able to wear whatever the heck she wants no matter her age. Says the 64 yo who recently dyed her hair purple. (note to self - buy more dye)
@Potternerd - snap on the chubby knees. My oh so delightful OH warns me to cover them up in case I make small children cry. (beast of a man some days but he's a good cook so I'll probably put up with him for another 35 years.)
@florianatwobob - are there any you have been looking for for ages? I've been finding oddments and duplicates in MiL's collection and I'd be happy to post them to you. PM me if you like. I'm currently trying to find a home for some videos and music cassettes! But I think those will all end up at the tip as they don't age well.

Quite pleased with a lovely pair of low heeled, Pavers ankle boots in tan brown (I have similar in black) that still had the original £39.95 price tags on and a CS label showing them reduced from £10 to £5! Lady said they'd had them for months with no interest but I go in there like once a week or more and hadn't seen them before lol

10 books to add.
3 of them were on 3 for £1 offer which of course was in the second shop I went into, after buying 7 in the first - always the way!
Was gravely put off by an atrocious smell though. Found 3 books and left rather promptly as I actually felt a bit sick/queasy from it.
Also found a pack of still in packaging cork coasters, £1.50 for 6 which will serve my crafting shenanigans very well. Was tempted by the plate size ones... I might return in the week and see if they're still there.Wealth is not measured by currency8 -
You've all had some amazing finds - nearly as interesting as seeing everyone's different styles. I adore those flowery boots but I'm too young to get away with them.
So pleased though that people a little older are trailblazing for me.
I've been away for a few days and found some charity shops. I hope I can remember everything:
a knitting magazine as new but several years old, was £6.99 now £1.
One of those little spoons with a hole in for draining olives: £1.
Ceramic tray for the bathroom window sill: £2.60.
Pale yellow M&S sweatshirt, exactly like one I had nearly 40 years ago: £4.99.
I resisted a few items too as I have Too Much Stuff, but the sight of the new season's colours was very tempting. I need to 'shop at home', i.e. rediscover my summer things from the loft to help me not to buy too much.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Picked up a fab blue and white vertical light summer blouse (matalan i think) from Oxfam for £2.99. Looking forward to wearing it when the weather turns a bit nicer!Every act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

Lovely finds @Frith - well done you.
I had a quick shufti in the original Oxfam shop this afternoon on my way to Waterstone's but didn't find anything I wanted in either shop so managed a NSD which is something I suppose.

One of my local CS Sailors' Society, is closing down they were selling off wooden trouser hangers a pack of 8 for £1. I picked a few up for that price. They should last years as they are very well made.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £488

For a while I have been on the look out for a hand knitted, large sized, pure wool, aran sweater in good condition. My idea was to unpick it, wind the wool into hanks and gently wash, (to freshen and get the kinks out), then re-ball and knit into something more my taste. Well, today was the day in Oxfam, they had just the sweater, priced at £5.99. I thought the pattern was a little bit strange for the usual cable knitty aran stylee. Got it home and when examining it, (moths for e.g.???), I realised it had been inside out on the hanger and, in fact, it is a beautiful aran pattern!! Now I dunno what to do.....just wash and keep as is as it seems a shame to destroy that beautiful work or go ahead with my original plan!!!
