And I'm exactly the opposite.dreamyd said:
I have that problem as I'm big and tall ( v curvy 5'10) but I've finally found the nerve to wear shorter dresses as tunics over leggings (mostly Primarni as they are one of the few that come in the right length...) especially since WFH came inSayschezza said:Mamas and Papas dolls pram for my ggd in very good condition £4.
Monsoon dress that is absolutely beautiful and fits lovely but unfortunately too short. Over the knee look on a 78yo is not a good look.
I can wear tunics as dresses.
Great idea to wear leggings (or very thick - 300 denier - opaque tights).
Sayschezza - age is just a number.
My Mum told me 30 years ago that I was too old to wear Doc Marts and leggings (I'm 70 next year).
Really, Mum?

Yesterday I bought a TU BNWT black needlecord pinafore dress for £5.00.
Am wearing it today with these beauties that I bought from eBay at the weekend.

While I personally think you should wear what you want (within reason), if you're uncomfortable with it being above the knee, could you lengthen it? It would be a shame if you had to give it up.Sayschezza said:Mamas and Papas dolls pram for my ggd in very good condition £4.

Over the last few days I have got a little antler suitcase (I think it's called a vanity case) completely unused and apparently an unwanted wedding gift for £4. A pair of dune black and white shoes £4.50. a book about funding £1.25 and two pairs of work trousers for £5 and £4.

Having gone back to jeans after a long exodus due to the low-rise (fall off as you walk, cut you in half when you sit) I was pleased to find M&S stretch jeans in my size for £6 in our Sue Ryder shop.
They look brand new. Will be back when I need anything else. I never go to the clothes shops for togs without first doing the charity shop rounds (except undies). Its me Culpepper LOL couldn't sign in with the old ID so time for a fresh start....10 -
I'm 5'2" so it is extremely short especially the lining as it has deep lace along the hem with a lace yoke. Not the sort of dress to use as a tunic unfortunately. My local CS sells dresses, trousers and skirts £1 each so I will donate it to another shop in the bigger town who will probably mark it up for £6.99 as it's worth that.dreamyd said:

My bargains for today were
a) a narrow melamine tray in a pretty floral design, just the right size to rest on the stair treads when I am carrying a couple of mugs of hot drink upstairs. We recently had the stairs and landing recarpeted and I am worried that I might accidentally spill a drink, I can be properly clumsy sometimes. £1 very well spent!b) a Parmesan grater, £1
c) a Sage custom loaf breadmaker for …. wait for it …. £6. I already have a Lakeland titchy one which I thought would be okay as there are only two of us at home, but the loaves are really quite tiny and I have been regretting the purchase. Very happy with this new one, which makes proper sized loaves and has a nut/seed dispenser and everything 😀6 -
A bumper harvest today:

The denim dress is New Look £6 and the black and white one Jasper Conran J (Debenhams I think) £2.50. Both are just below my chubby knees.
The T shirt is Zara also £2.50. I can’t resist starry things.
Also a pink specs case 50p10 -
Just 3 DVDs for £1.50 for me today. I had quite a good haul the other week of films that rarely come in the TV/Streaming services and a couple that I’d like to see. I tend to view our local hospice shop as a lending library for books and films and return them once watched.

Reminds me of Courreges 'Op-Art' dresses in the 60's. The dress needs to be shortened to mini length tho and you need some knee high white boots and a Mary Quant hairstyle to go with it!!! 7 -
Also love the black and white dress! But I think I need to stop buying clothes!6

Finally found a hooded black gillet. Been looking for ages. £5.25, good quality. Label as been removed so I don't know the brand. It's exactly what I wanted.
I often find that if I wait long enough I usually come across something off my "wanted" list.
Also dropped off a bag full of various oddments of crockery.7
