I’m observing Lent by sticking to the cup of coffee finance model with the Pret twist - no more than £20 a month. Means I’m towing a rather uninterested teenager In Case… Happily, Alderley Edge is a long drive away.6

I don't reckon much to the style of the skirt but if that cost £7.50 and the RL blouse cost £15.99, that means the Carvela boots cost only £10.00.
I might have been tempted at those depending on condition.
I'm a gal used to shopping in the Air Ambulance everything £2.00 shop.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
DigForVictory said:Look at furnishing - brown furniture is right out of fashion (other than with the devout eco-sustainably reused market who shockingly Do Not Spend Money), we're offered painted wood (ye gods), or pale wood - pine mostly, oak sometimes, and with kitchens there are even more space age materials, high gloss, bright, (over illuminated) - and very little designed to showcase.
Went to more charity shops than you can shake a stick at and came away with nothing but enjoyed my mooching.5 -

@DigForVictory and @Pollycat, it's really interesting to hear more about Denby as I had no idea of some of it. I am resisting 3bay every time I see Homestead mentioned, so you are making me work hard! I will be looking again eventually though: I buy bits for gifts for my sister who also likes this set!
@Rosa_Damascena, years ago I lived in Wimbledon as a rather penniless student. No way could I ever have afforded that outfit!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Life works in mysterious ways sometimes doesn't it?
Been having a big clear out of all my serious walking gear as I only seem to pootle about on country lanes these days. Ended up with a black bin bag full of fleeces, a couple of Goretex jackets, waterproof trousers and loads of hats, scarves, gloves and thick socks. Was on my way to donate to one of the charity shops in the Northallerton high street but could not park in the usual place and ended up parked what seemed miles away. The pouring rain only added to my disgruntlement. Taking a short cut and to avoid the rain I cut through one of the old arcades where I came upon an empty shop that had been taken over to collect donations for Ukraine. A big notice stated that they were particularly looking for warm, waterproof clothing and there was me clutching just what they were asking for. I had no idea the charity was there that day and it's not an arcade I normally walk though. It was almost as if I was being guided there!!! I was pleased to hand over my donation in the sincere hope it might help someone and I felt thoroughly ashamed of my earlier grumpiness!!
Anyhoo....it's been a lean time chazza bargain-wise lately but today I happened upon a chazza shop, (Samaritans??), in Ripon that had been given a load of beautiful ladies wear from an Irish make, Fogarty of Dublin. Mostly trousers and skirts in classic styles in pure new wool. I came away with a camel coloured pencil skirt with a buttoned kick pleat at the back, mid calf length, fully lined and the most beautiful fabric. Original price tag gave the price as £89...then reduced to £59...chazza price £516 -

Black George at Asda t shirt 50p
Vero Moda vest top black on the back with a grey silky front with a pattern of brightly coloured birds, tits I think (chortle) £1
John Lewis pink and blue elephant patterned blackout curtains £6 and perfect size for our bedroom window. I think they’re kids but they’re rather jolly and considerably cheaper than new, especially William Morris velvet which would be my first choice. But sadly I doubt I’ll ever see in a CS.7 -
Lovely thing to do, Miro.
It was obviously meant to be.6
