Can I have a little moan please? Thoroughly fed up at the mo...everything I do seems to go wrong. Today's 'disaster.'....went to get some cash from an ATM this morning...the cash started coming out of the machine then shot back inside and the flappy bit closed??? My account has been debited soooo no doubt it will be a nightmare trying to get this sorted now....aaarrrggghhh (Soz - just needed to vent)
Here's my little moan (and latest purchase):
I'm off to Liverpool on Tuesday, staying overnight.
I got my little wheely case out and noticed that the wheels are shredding.
Damn.
I intended to buy a new 4 wheel one but I don't have time to do the research and get one that I want before Tuesday so I did a quick trip round the 5 charity shops in our town.
I managed to find one - a boring navy one, not my style at all - in clean condition for £4.00.
So I'll use that and donate it back when I've bought one that I really want, probably in the New Year sales.7 -

It did come from a charity shop though.
I used it last month and didn't notice any problems.
Our main cases are TRIPP and I really like them, that's where I'll start.
It has a fancy lock on it (TSA approved but it's locked) luckily it's only fastened over one end of the zip.
But I've found the combination number.
I tried 000, 111, 222, 333 ....and it's 999.6 -
Any other Big Bang Theory fans…? Shelton and his “size a million pants”…? Well here’s the shoes to go with them. They are longer than the length of my arm from my outstretched fingertips to my elbow (I didn’t put my hand in them *shudder*) Himself was wearing size 11 boots and they fit over them! Chrissy cards for scale. In 1811, nearly a quarter of all the women in Britain were named Mary.5

Rather an excellent haul from the charity shops today:
24 proper vintage glass baubles (probably early 1960s and the really thin glass) £6. I have a weakness for them.
2 black beaded clutch bags/wristlets £3 and £4
1 small wooden Scandi style Christmas tree bauble 20p
Then a very lovely lead crystal bowl which was very pricey at £18 but it was calling to me and the baubles do look glorious in it.✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅(DSis🏅)

I bought 3 books for £1 each earlier, and a further book I was thinking about overnight for £2. £5 for 4 books is inflation-busting!I compensated for this extravagance with a book from a local book library, 4 books for £1 and a stainless steel kettle (which I will gift to my parents once I have cleaned it up) for £1. It's so handy to stick these on the hob for piping hot tea .No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.7 -
Love that jug and flowers...
Our local Oxfam closed a few years ago but I was able to visit one which was mostly books today. My daughter was with me and bought one relevant to her work, and I spent £4 on chocolate (a gift, honestly) and £13 on books. Most of these were for other people but I spent I think £5 on Margeurite Patten's book on post war rationing, complete with lots of pictures and recipes. My idea of fascinating!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Am happy with my latest purchase as a lampshade for £5. I need to source more that one Tiffany-style lamp stand though! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.12 -
