I stopped in at The Cornerstone shop again and finally found a fleece top which is the pink one. That was £1 as was the red M&S cardi. The blue GAP jumper was £4 as was the Gerry Weber blue jacket. I hadn't heard of that brand, but I looked and it is quite pricey. I also got the panda cup, the reusable bottle, the ring and the teddy. All for £12.
That shop is addictive as it is quite cheap and seems to turn over it's stock quickly.8 -
Potternerd said:A black corduroy coat with lots of silver coloured buttons (all there too) £9 by H &R fashions. I googled them and they seem to be quite steampunk/ goth. It will allow me to donate 2 less favoured coats along with a load of other stuff , but I’m worried if I go to my usual donation CS I’ll just end up getting more stuff. I’m having a trip to Ilkley and possibly Harrogate next week so want to have money and space for stuff from their charity shops. This is the coat and the buttons. It’s blacker than it looks in pics
Pretty cheap.
Not to mention the fab coat.9 -

A CD of David Tennant (swoon) reading the Hairy McClairy stories £1. For DGS.
DH got a brand new in box pair of black Kickers shoes for £25.9 -

I've had a very busy week and haven't had time to do more than pop into the Oxfam shop on my way home from the town centre on Wednesday afternoon. I found a Persephone edition of Tea With Mr Rochester by Frances Towers, £3.99, in very good condition with its matching bookmark too. I also snapped up one of Georgette Heyer's detective novels for £1.99.
I was in the Post Office this afternoon, fighting my way to the front of the queue through what felt like hoards of tourists and newly arrived foreign students and saw a woman wearing a marvellously effective outfit with the gold version of the coat that @Brie mentioned a week or so ago. She had short hair with a light frosting of white, the gold coat worn fastened to the neck over a white top, big black and white check leggings, black ankle boots with thick soles and a small heel, black gloves and a black day sack on her back. She hadn't pulled in the waist tie of the coat so it hung straight down to her hips and she looked really good especially as most of the other people were wearing black coats so she stood out against them. The detail of the hem at the side was really becoming."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

I said on here there I found some brand new nice Sea Salt coats the other day but I'm not in need of a proper winter coat. I also saw a good condition camel coloured French Connection coat yesterday. I personally don't like that colour but I'm sure someone would have snapped that up.:)2025 GOALS

I'm trying to avoid any purchases as we are trying to do a sincere declutter which includes getting rid of the vast majority of my MiL's clothing and a good selection of her trinkets. Following that will be her bedroom and lounge furniture. The local Margaret Green shop (local animal welfare/rehoming charity) have said when I dropped some clothing off that they will be very happy to take anything which makes it easy for me as it's not far away and there's parking available. The food bank where I work also deal with rehousing people so have asked that if I show them photos of the furniture they will say whether they will pick up everything or not. If they aren't interested then BHF will be contacted.
For the collective consideration here - are decorative thimbles a thing anymore? MiL was a collector but I can't think that have any resale value even in a charity shop. I've suggested to OH that we could try to ebay them in their collection display cases. And as long as we get a bit more than to cover the postage that would be ok. It's just when I've seen them occasionally in a chazza they just seem to be in a basket for people to troll through whereas online I suspect that a collector might take a job lot to ensure they get the single one they may be missing. And the display cabinets may be worth a bit to them as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie I was reading in one of the Sunday supplements recently that the 'in' look in decor in the USA has been English Country Grandmother(!!!) and that it has now become a thing here so anything arty/crafty might just be in demand e.g. decorative thimble collections. Would it be practical, in terms of shipping costs to consider selling to the USA on EBay?7
