I stopped in at The Cornerstone shop again and finally found a fleece top which is the pink one. That was £1 as was the red M&S cardi. The blue GAP jumper was £4 as was the Gerry Weber blue jacket. I hadn't heard of that brand, but I looked and it is quite pricey. I also got the panda cup, the reusable bottle, the ring and the teddy. All for £12.
That shop is addictive as it is quite cheap and seems to turn over it's stock quickly.
On Friday I popped into a local chaz on the way to work and bought a smart leather handbag for £2, a Planet dress for £3.50 and a couple of jeans for my niece.
I popped into Shared Space in Southchurch yesterday morning and found a mobile phone cover for 30p and bought 2 pairs of sunglasses for 20p each. Handy because my favourite pair broke (ironically I managed to fix them when I got home). Then I bought a nice thick gilet from The Project Too. I really don't want to be cold this winter! No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I've got another 6 bags of MiL's stuff to recycle. 3 bags are bed linen so I've contacted the food bank as they have a rehousing service so always need furniture and other bits. The rest is clothing including a massive fleece lined bathrobe/dressing gown - weighs a ton and will be exceedingly warm so I'm sure someone is going to love it more than my MiL (too long and too heavy for her to manage unfortunately). I'd keep it for myself but I'm a bit EWW about wearing something of hers despite it being freshly washed - lovely lady and I don't mind used stuff, I just don't want hers. Hope that makes sense.
Trying to sort out what to do with her various mobility aids - most are council supplied but not all. I've been told it costs too much for the council to collect/recycle so I'll be checking with charity shops if they want them. Her expensive wheelchair and mobility scooter we'll try to sell. And her furniture and electric fireplace will either go to one of the larger charity stores or the food bank.
On the plus side - and despite my EWW - for now I've kept a couple of her scarves. There's a white 30% silk pashmina and another thing that may have been meant for a neck warmer inside a formal winter coats - feels like silk on one side and has a gold and red brocade fabric on the other. I've also kept a tshirt the OH made for her which has a photo of 2 of our cats on it. Not sure I'll ever use any of these but just didn't want to "throw them away".I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Just picked up a couple of little items on my tour of the local charity shops today. A pair of very elaborate tasselly curtain tie back thingies in cream, as new and 25p and a thingumidoo for hanging ties in the wardrobe made from a lovely piece of wood 75p....this will go in the present drawer!!7

Had a bit of a wobble packing up MiL's stuff. Came across a bag stuffed to the back of a drawer that was filled with baby stuff. I expect some of it was from OH was a tiddler but there's some lovely knitted stuff as well that may have been something she had made on the off chance there would be grandkids. It's the one bit of her stuff I don't know what to do with. We obviously have no need of any of it, there's no babies really even into the cousins, no nieces or nephews. And even if there were I suspect no one would want OH's used toddler shoes or anything that needs to be hand washed. I suspect I will tuck it into the back of one of my drawers for someone else to deal with. I don't dare show it to the OH. It's a weird thing....like if you find something really personal in a pocket of a coat you buy or a picture tucked into a book and you have no idea the real story behind it. Sorry - very maudlin of me. I'll go have a cuppa tea.

It's these little personal things that hit the spot, isn't it. I have various bits tucked at the back of drawers that I don't want to let go but other people wouldn't know the history. Have some hugs xI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Ludlow today. A Lily and Me top. It sounds like a brand of maternity wear but I don't think it is!

Brie, would the new clothing be donatable? And maybe find a nice box for the worn things & put them to one side until another day?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
