  • I would very much like to join in as well, please. The cupboards and freezer are stocked, so will only need to be buying fresh items, and vegetables. My aim is to also use up the very many cleaning and personal care items we seem to have a mountain of. This will also save us some money.
This is totally me. Full cupboards, freezer, cleaning and boundless toiletries!

    Happy new year everyone.

Starting the year with a spend day.  I needed some diet pepsi as the house was dry.  Seeing as I was spending today, I also bought a bottle of Lucozade Zero!  Living the life eh??

I have full freezers and fridge so didn't need to buy any food, and won't need to for most of the month.

Out for lunch with friends tomorrow, which I do not do often, and wouldn't miss for the world, but that should be the only spend until Thursday which is a friend's birthday and we are all off to the seaside for the day.

    Be safe.

No spending here today - I haven't been anywhere, and haven't shopped online. We are getting low on bread and fresh milk, but reckon we can make do with what bread we have for now, and I have mixed up some powdered milk. We have skimmed milk anyway, so it isn't much different in OH's tea (I drink black coffee). It will last till Monday when the milkman is due to come.
There is plenty in the freezers, fridge and larder, so food spends will be limited to fresh things and a few ingredients this month.
  • Had to spend £5.78 at the local shop for some essentials but resisted the supermarket. Although I spent a little bit more in the essentials at the local shop I probably would have spent £20+ if I'd have gone to my usual Lidl. Husband is asking for stuff for the fridge so I might have to go and get some sausages to make him feel better 🙄

  • evening everyone
I haven't spent any money today.  I got washing almost dry on the line today.  I've only had the heating on for 2 hours this eve as it has been so mild.  A very frugal start to the new year :)

  • No heating on for me today having switched it off yesterday - it was actually very pleasant outside, almost summery! Did a load of housework and there's much stuff to Gumtree...although it would be much less hassle to get chazzer to collect. Spent £1.70 on milk which could have waited until tomorrow, but it means I won't enter a supermarket and buy more then.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

No spending yesterday. The cupboards are full, there is lots in the freezer and I probably have enough toiletries for the year. Part of my aim is to clear some space by using up what I’ve got. I did a huge declutter before I moved just over a year ago so any excess is stuff I like and use.
  • Just trying out Tesco click and collect. As I can't seem to just stick to the list when I go into my usual Lidl. Ordered £39 of fresh food. I have a family of 4 so £10 a head on fresh stuff is ok I think. About £8 of that are things to keep my husband from complaining that there no food in the house!! Most of the main meals will come out of the freezer and cupboards. I usually spend about £70-£80 per week so if I don't need any top ups that's a good £30-£40 for the savings. Not a spend for today as it's coming out of my account tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be technically a no spend day today.

Hope you are all having a fantastic start to the new year 💖
