Hi
i'd like to join please. I have a fair amount of food in so will only need fresh stuff, i'm just doing a menu plan and batch making soup
I need new trainers having just walked 13k steps to town and back and got very wet feetApart from that I don't intend to buy any clothes or unnecessary stuff at all in Jan. I have one birthday which i'll send money for and a haircut but i pay cash and have already withdrawn the cash for that. I will need petrol but only have to go to work when i have meetings so i'll look to reduce petrol costs by walking as much as possible - hopefully in waterproof footwear!!

I'm in! There's only one January birthday and that gift and card are here waiting to be dealt with. No social plans so nothing to expect there. Food and groceries budget is £280 for 2 of us and 3 cats, DD2 pops in for a meal once a week normally and we have step grand daughter once a week but she's not fussy food wise so will happily eat what's on offer.I'll be making good use of Olio for food top ups, we seem to be fairly lucky here with a couple of regular people collecting and distributing. We've had £70 worth since Christmas, admittedly there's stuff there we wouldn't normally buy (ready prepped fruit in pots) but I'm happy to enjoy them for free. We did collect 15 kilos of spuds a few days ago so they'll all get processed for the freezer, good job we love a spud or three.
I do not need any clothes or shoes, I've got plenty of books and jigsaws and wool/fabric to keep me busy and a second hand greenhouse to dig a base for and put up before spring. I will need to buy some more bolts and clips, a couple of sleepers and some gravel but that will be saved and bought in February.
Bring it on!2 -

I'll try and join in too please 😊. I was really good when we were saving our house deposit, but have been more lax over the past couple of years. We really need to move to a bigger house so the more I can save the better. I have plenty of food so really we'll just need fresh stuff (I will need greens for bunny regularly still) and fuel. Oh, and I need to get the other half of my nieces birthday present. Baby has enough clothes etc to get him until the end of the month and I don't need to buy him more!
I'll get SMP this month but then I have a month on no pay before I'm back on full pay for a couple of months but not working (having no holiday when pregnant finally paying off) so I could do with upping our buffer for the no pay month. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,984.78/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,341.433 -
Definitely have to watch my expenditure next month - have just submitted my latest meter readings and had a shock as the fuel bill for the past month has come to a whopping £135No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -
I'm going to try the no spend Jan.
Cupboards are full, freezer is bursting. Enough toiletries to sink a battleship thanks to xmas gifts.
I will have to make exceptions for 2 birthdays, my prescription and fresh produce and bread.
I have a £20 supermarket voucher, £5 of nectar points and £2 tesco points voucher.Hopefully these may cover the bulk of the fresh purchases.
I also have a few unwanted xmas gifts that I'm going to try selling.
Paid the mortgage off in June so am now debt free. My goal now is to save as much as possible for retirement.5
