Kaz.. when CF was here I was forbidden to carpet the hallway which was ust bare wooden floor and utterly freezing. That was the first thing I did when he left.. got all that carpetted so it was warmer. Made a huge difference.
Dropping stuff at my mothers today.. DD1's present finally arrived.
Kitchn is mine and OH's job today and the rest is written on the whiteboard for people to get on with as they please.. I am NOT doing it all myself.. absolutely refuse.
Off to load a DW and empty the TD so OH can strip the beds.

I'm a big fan of wooden floors, best thing about here is there are no carpets. Tiled floors downstairs and wooden ones upstairs. So easy to deal with any accidents or mess. In an ideal world I would have underfloor heating but get by with a few rugs and slippers with proper soles.12

Thanks Pigpen and Fayolle. DS is going to pick his brother up and bring him back here, the minute he walks in the door he will do a LFT and we will take it from there. The only people this is potentially putting as risk is DS and the rest of the family and we are prepared to take that risk, it would have been different if he was travelling on public transport.
We have to go and collected the new car this afternoon, I should be excited but I am not, just a bag of nerves really. Paid stuff almost done, the house is a bit untidy but that can be sorted later. Need to make sure DSs room is clear.
 Catch you all later!12

I have also taken PE shed key back to school, via locksmiths where I got new ones cut and dropped a Christmas card very close by too and took a cash tin/float back into school because it was needed by PTA. Emptied fruit fridge while I was in there, took apples to mates (I pass hers en route) for her chickens and was given half-a-dozen free range eggs for my trouble. Multiple birds killed with one stone there. I picked up a couple of gifts, too. I'm running on fumes tonight so I'll postpone my visit to DB's. Hopefully he'll be ok with me dropping in on my way home from work tomorrow because I've told Pops I'll visit after work on Christmas Eve.roundtuit said:

I think a lot of us are running on fumes, round.
Having said that, I have had a less frantic day today and managed a bit of flying too:
 - S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom
 - Tidied the utility enough to make a noticeable difference
 - Got the boxes of Christmas decorations and tree out of the loft and stuck them in the bath for now (no water!!!)
 - Hung up yesterday's washing on the airers/radiators to finish drying (the airers block the door to the loft - thus the need to get the boxes out, even though I'm not quite ready for them)
 - Tidied the LR
 - Provided wrapping paper and sticky tape so that DH could wrap up his gifts
 - Worked outside for about 3 hours in all, clearing dead plant stems, sweeping up piles of leaves and lopping back branches at eye level; bagged it all up and put it in the back of my car
 - Booked a slot at the tip on Friday morning
 - Used up leftover roasted veg - just potatoes, carrots and parsnips - with a cube and a good squeeze of chilli-from-a-tube to make a yummy warming soup for lunch: very MSE
 - Took Rosie for her walk
 - Went to the PO and collected DH's prescription from the pharmacy; had intended to deliver some of the local cards, but for once the weather forecast was totally accurate and it began raining heavily on the dot of 4.00
 - Toasted more crumpets and watched Pointless
 - Cooked sausages with savoury rice for tea (not on the menu plan but delicious)
 - Paid 2 months' worth of vicar's expenses and sent off the Christingle and carol singing collections to the Children's Society
 - Watched most of Sewing Bee
 - Chatted to DD for half an hour
Enormous (((hugs))) to all in need, especially asb, YL, pigpen, dancemum and Skinty, as well as to everyone with a long list of jobs still to be done xx
Tomorrow morning DH has to be at the horse piddle for his minor op (v-vein) at 08.15, so it's an early night for both of us tonight - but while he's out tomorrow I shall get a clear run at cleaning all through downstairs, and then perhaps I can put up the decorations

I just wanted some ✅ of my own. Have discussed food with Mum and it doesn't look like a major shopping trip tomorrow, just a few bits (famous last words). Her NDN kindly cleared one drawer in the freezer in their garage for us to use; it's now got the turkey crown in it. Managed to put most of our clutter away so it won't annoy Mum, who can be rather set in her routines and where she keeps things!Narc0lepsy said:Tomorrow's list includes:
 - check nasty report. Get 2 others at a stage where I can easily do them on the laptop at Mum's without having to cart around excessive weight i.e. manuals. ✅ Nasty report checked, signed and emailed. Realised only 1 other would be ideal to do before Christmas; I'd told others they would all be sent in the New Year. Sitting at laptop in Mum's kitchen with the last one.
 - pick foliage for SILs present. Flowers to be bought on the way down in monster Mr T just in case Mum's local Mr L (which we are hitting at 8am on Thursday) don't have any good enough.✅ Foliage picked and Mr T visited. Fairly happy with flower selection
 - Pack clothes ✅ I'm here so anything I haven't packed can be done without .
 - do pay claim for uni (not essential but would be nice to get it sent in) ✅ Did that late last night as a 'quick fix'. Sent off.
 - Do essential going-away flying i.e. emptying bins, vacuum, check nothing lurking in fridge etc. ✅ Ah. Fridge sorted, compost bin emptied, vacuuming went by the wayside. Filled bird feeders.
-Pack everything from the list in the car (which Mr N washed and checked oil etc today) ✅ Well obviously as I'm here. So far haven't detected any missing items - oh apart from Mr N leaving my card on his desk at home.
 - who knows what else. not thinking.
Hugs to all for worries about children and family in general. I daresay I'll pop up in the next few days so you're not shot of me yet. But happy Christmas anyway.

Right, back to the report. Puts determined face on.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.12
