Absolutely loads done this afternoon. Children now in bed and I am following suit very shortly.
Tomorrow I must:
- cook a casserole
- Take delivery of a new cockerel
- Deal with some admin that has arisen as a result of today’s post
DD also has a hospital appointment tomorrow. I am keeping everything crossed that nothing is wrong and all will be well, and I know many of you have worries about poorly children so I haven’t wanted to mention it on here but I’m quite nervous. Being 9, she is absolutely fine and more excited at the prospect of a McDonald’s for being brave! If I don’t mention it again, assume it’s all fine and nowt to worry about 😊
YL - big hugs to you darling xx
Jazee - oh !!!!!!... how annoying. Sending love xx

ASB, big hugs, my love. Keeping everything crossed for you and your DD xx
YL, fingers crossed for you too xx. If he gets a negative result, don’t let him doubt it and do another as they like to do, just get him out and home. We evacuated DD last week when she called to say that The Virus was tearing through the uni and could she come back while she was still negative. DH did a dash to pick her, she stayed in her room and packed until he got there. Once she got home she was still negative but did get a pcr (negative) as she was worried. Her flatmate is in isolation at the uni until Christmas Day, poor girl.
Now to the green ticks 😋
clean bathroom ✅
take DD for booster at big town hospital✅
finish present wrapping - all done and cleared away ✅
sort my CPD records out - whoops, but this one unlikely to happen today, yawn. Maybe won’t happen tomorrow either…
Get ready for going back to work tomorrow ☹️✅
Now back to knitting DSiL’s present, the only one left to wrap, not that we are seeing her now anyway but I would like it out of the way.11 -
YL.. my chicks come home regardless of what they have.. they need to be here.. this is no different to any other illness in my view.. unpopular as that may be given the massive divide between peoples realities.. I think life is very much like Final Destination and when your number is up, it is your time and if you avoid one way another will take you out.. Hopefully it is just a cold though.. and not as bad as Twinkles was!
Jazee.. the negative tests does not surprise me in the least, most people I know who eventually had a positive test had at least 1 negative or inconclusive test first. Many people simply do the swabs wrong and with inaccuracies it is to be expected. OH didn't even know where to swab in his throat.. he was trying to do the absolute back of his throat making himself sick in the process. way behind the uvula rather than the tonsil area (his were removed).. I laughed and corrected him with a youtube video and a toch down my throat.
ASB .. big loves for tomorrow xxx
Back from the outlaws.. presents deposited that end..
2 more parcels received while I was out.. including new nork-nests.
Got home to starving cats and not a single thing having been done!!
Still have a scarf to finish and 5 to tassel!!

Slinking in at the back late to the party as usual...apologies, I don't know where the time is going in the Skint Pit at the moment, all I know is time is not moving at normal speed and things are piling up!
I have been chasing the reduced priced stickers to fill up my freezer to tide me over the festive period (when everyone is home and pleading starvation!) All I can say is I will be sick of the sight of mackerel by the New Year.
I have bought a new tree this year to replace the one I sold at boot fair 6 years ago...I have put it up in the kitchen which seems weird place to have it, but it is the only room I can shut the furry faces out of. DFF1 is already plotting tree murder, I can see it in her eyes and her whiskers start twitching every time she stares at the tree.
Loving everyone's decorations for the season. Piggers I love your nails, especially the reindeer!
I might actual get on with the Listy tomorrow but I still have froggy paperwork hanging around that I need to get on with, so I will see how I get on.
Stay safe everyone xxx hugs sticks and spoons in the jar...help yourselves!
The cold never bothered me anyway11 -
I have been nibbling at jobs this evening. I have redone my work calendar as I made a mistake. We were sent one to print and highlight - sod that for a game of soldiers I made a table and edited it electronically. No tree will be harmed - and I can't really lose it if it's saved.
some Xmas cards have finally made it to the display. A wide ribbon which I staple them to - using the pin setting.
hoping for a better night's sleep..pain-free would be a bonus. Arthritic joints...result of working in a well ventilated building.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Dreadful night in WAC, so much for my mindful thinking about one thing at a time then just doing it. Eventually got up and wrote a list of what I need to do before we go to Mum's, and what we need to take.
- one load through DW
- one load through WM
- paid for next term's drum lessons.
- battled on with the tricky report. Finally finished it although it will need a thorough checking tomorrow, but it's made me really despondent as I'd hoped to be well on the way with another one. Guess I'll be taking more down to Mum's than I'd hoped.
- had good Zoom chat with friend.
- started piling clothes. Won't need much: 1 nice sparkly Xmas jumper, skirt and boots for Xmas day; the rest will be onesie, jeans or leggings with a variety of jumpers. Not as if there will be any wild social activities......debating whether to take wet suit though.....
- booked a Mr T c&c for Jan 3 in case we get locked down. Messaged neighbour to tell her in case she wants to share. Also told her we were going away. She rang back....confined to barracks with Covid.
- went to posh farm shop for few last minute presents then into town for same. Saw a couple more post box decorated covers but lots of shops closed down, lights pretty but less atmosphere than some years. Managed to get a present for Mr N while he was in another shop - practically threw it at shop assistant saying "I'm putting this straight in my bag NOW before my other half comes back into the shop"; he was a little surprised but scanned it really quickly.
- Rang my Mum to finalise details after Mr N and I had a) done a Covid test and b) checked any update from Boris - so we will be going down south. Tomorrow after lunch, or after the list is complete - whichever happens first.....
- was about to go upstairs and do some work when I realised to my horror I had planned to make the Christmas pudding today!! Where's the eek emoji when you want it? Our postman only comes every 3-4 days so although the vendor has dispatched the new seal for the pressure cooker, it hasn't arrived. So puddings went on at 8pm and have just been fished out of pans.
- sorted out a container, oasis, lights and wrapping for SIL's present (guess what she's requested a flower arrangement). It's going to be a 'Christmas cracker' one as I've done a few of those this year.
Tomorrow's list includes:
- check nasty report. Get 2 others at a stage where I can easily do them on the laptop at Mum's without having to cart around excessive weight i.e. manuals.
- pick foliage for SILs present. Flowers to be bought on the way down in monster Mr T just in case Mum's local Mr L (which we are hitting at 8am on Thursday) don't have any good enough.
- Pack clothes
- do pay claim for uni (not essential but would be nice to get it sent in)
- Do essential going-away flying i.e. emptying bins, vacuum, check nothing lurking in fridge etc.
-Pack everything from the list in the car (which Mr N washed and checked oil etc today)
- who knows what else. not thinking.
Hugs to all for worries about children and family in general. I daresay I'll pop up in the next few days so you're not shot of me yet. But happy Christmas anyway.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.12 -
Morning all xx
Cor blimey Narc0 - I need to lie down in a dark room after reading that list! And breathe.. one job at a time ❤

Feed the birds ✅
Put out the recycling ✅
Pick up parcel from Delivery Office ✅
Paid stuff - there now 🙄
Last shop for Christmas treats and bread
Put bin out
Wrap DB's present
Text DB - present drop off tonight or tomorrow night?
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew.
Hope you all have a good day.
Much love

Morning all
woke up coughing a few times - it is a productive cough. That's as much as you need to know. Washed bedding which I'm hoping to line dry then another load which I ran through the TD. Note to self - buy a new washing line. (Half my line snapped so I'm down to one and that probably won't last much longer).

You are all SO busy. My list is minimal. We leave tomorrow evening.
Today, washing and ironing, then pack.
This evening pack the car, presents, clothes & bookshelf and bits of furniture DD2 wants, depending on space
Tomorrow, dust & hoover. (priority is downstairs)
Tomorrow evening, go away.
Friday morning go to supermarket near other house and get food for Fri, Sat & Sun for the 4 of us. We will eat what there is available. I realised last night that I don't have xmas pudding or cake, but as we never eat either on xmas day I'm not going to worry about it, I might make something on the Monday or Tuesday.
Friday afternoon, long walk on the beach with hopefully a 'vin chaud' or hot chocolate on the way back to support local business.
Friday evening, crochet in front of the TV with wine.
If it's not done by Friday lunchtime it's can wait.
Look after yourselves ladies!
