Updated today - switch now showing as complete (with woohoo message ...) and DD set up. They are using 15 Dec as opening reading by the look of it, and that ties in with the expected next bill of 15 Dec - 18 Jan. They also appear to have my annual useage estimate from Zog, spot-on at 8,200 kWh p.a. and have based the DD on the correct annual consumption and cost
but not the Zog credit. This is not surprising though as Zog haven't issued final bill for it to be calculated (and will be extra 10 days at Zog rates:) )
Just need to enter a reading on 17 Jan now..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

Same here - just rec'd the email but I set up DD ~ 22nd - appears on the list of DDs with my bank as well.
No sign of an "agreed" hand over reading on either Zog beta site or EDF account.0 -

Now I look at it - was originally £28/mth with Zog. I had requested a refund on the credit balance, which Zog turned down according to their company policy on refunds (fair enough, it was there in black and white), and it was pre-winter then. However they did reduce the DD to £24. EDF are wanting £44...
My greater usage is on the electricity side.1 -
Just set up my DD which came back at £45, presumably based on my initial reading and the one I put in today. I'm pretty sure it is too high for the whole year, as my gas consumption goes down to a tenner a month, or less, in summer, but as I'm moving in a few months, it probably won't be too far out.

My greater usage is on the electricity side.is the annual usage estimated shown on the EDF site anywhere?i've got slightly less usage than you (by 400KWh) and I was paying £31 a month with Zog - though I do (did) have a £30 credit balance with them that will eventually be transferred across.EDF are now wanting £38 per month... that might be slightly skewed by it being cold recently, using more gas and submitting the latest reading when setting up the DD, but once things settle down, the balance is transferred and first payment taken, i'll switch to paying the whole bill by DD.for now, i'm paying slightly less unit rates with EDF than i was with Zog.out of curiosity, I asked my electricity supplier what the cost would be if I switched to them (thinking might as well pay the capped rate with them than with EDF), but they're only taking on fixed-rate customers (fair enough as they'd be making a loss supplying at the capped rate)... they wanted over £100 per month for the same annual usage!1 -
I note that the EDF web interface is still saying that the Welcome Standard tariff lasts until 31st December 9999. Nice to know that my descendants will still be paying the same price for centuries to come...3

Really? Shouldn’t it be until infinity, then? Or the end of the world, whichever is soonest?0

Happy New Year to all 🙂
My online account looks different this morning. The contract timeline has disappeared and there are only basic options to update personal details. I’m wondering if this is due to me being in the process of switching out to Octopus.0
