Boundary problem

My driveway is the original concrete one laid when the houses were built in 1970/71. The hedge came later, I'm not exactly sure when, but at least 40 years ago. His driveway was block paved during the 1990s and is probably not following exactly the same line as his original concrete drive, though given the hedge was already there it can't have been very far off (due to the width of the hedge)How old are the driveways? Its very possible the hedge was there first and the drives have been laid or relaid around it making them a very poor definition of where the boundary is.0 -
Do neighbouring properties have the same layout? They may show the original drive at a boundary or an even gap between the two properties.BrainDrained said:

If you have LP, then call them up for advice. Just advice. They should guide you on your rights, and how to take this further - surveyors, etc, if needed.0

Do you know who planted the hedge?
The hedge may have been planted by the owner of the other house and planted inside his boundary., so not exactly on the boundary so that it didn't' encroach on your drive.
If it is going to stress you then the only solution os to get the boundary established professionally. But be careful what you wish for. You mentioned the 'straight line' cut off a few inches off your drive.

Can I ask, have any photos been provided to us?
After 9 pages, I'm pretty certain some photos would help people SEE the issue.3 -
I'd suggest given the content of the thread, some of the comments made, and the details which have been gone into, it would probably be best for the OP to not now share pictures which might allow someone involved, or associated with people involved, to identify the property the OP lives in and/or who their neighbour is.anotheruser said:Can I ask, have any photos been provided to us?

Pictures usually help, but in this case I think it would be a bad idea to add them to a public forum.

A diagram/plan could make it easier to understand.Section62 said:

I wonder if the 1970 plans exist anywhere - maybe in the planning permission archives? They might show if the edge of the drive was the edge of the property.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
