I noticed that BG's Chat function had been severely curtailed (IIRC it used to operate until 10pm every day, but now it's only until about 5pm M-F), and earlier today no-one was available.  There's a new webform for making complaints, but after submitting all the info it kept saying that there were technical problems.
Earlier today I resorted to sending an email to the senior manager I'd dealt with previously.  I said that BG had broken all its promises that I'd start on the SVT and be able to switch to Zero Fixed Oct22 and that it would be backdated to the start of the contract; if it wasn't sorted out within a week then I'd be off to the Ombudsman.
The good news is that the BG app is now telling me I'm on Zero Fixed Oct 22 at 20.301p/kWh day, 10.793p/kWh night with no standing charge and no exit fee, and it's recalculated my bill.  Got there in the end, but it was certainly a bumpy ride !

My supply switched from NR today and the IHU had a 'welcome to British Gas' message (never seen a message on the IHU before) and the tariff has changed to the BG Zero Fixed Oct 2022 that I was assured I would be on when I went through the BG chat, very impressed so far, even though it's only been just under 22 hrs

My switch completed yesterday so went in live chat to remind them the agreed move to zero fixed once switch happened…..was told that it would take 28 days for account to be fully updated and this transfer to zero fixed showing online but was assured this would happen and be backdated to start date. We shall see! Seems partly down to luck of the draw as to who you chat to as not convinced by this 28 day thing as recall others having new tariff updated straightaway.

My account is also not fully set up yet but I don't believe it takes them 28 days. I'd try again in a week or so.

Yeah I could do but live chat is so slow and laborious that may just wait till after day 28. I’m on quarterly billing variable DD so won’t be getting first bill for a few months anyway. I’ll do the occasional check online in the meantime to see if it’s been updated.

Just chatted with an agent, asked to be moved to Zero Fixed Oct 2022 with variable DD, this was the reply:

I have made the arrangements for you and the tariff will be updated to your account within 10 working days and you will also receive a written confirmation via post within 7 days

To all the naysayers who said I'd have to take this to the Supreme Court or whatever, do enjoy your SVT  :D
