I think I'll struggle to spend more than the £132 government subsidy (I have a vacant property with zero consumption so the £66 from that will just pay the SC and the rest goes into my bank account) even on the new rates, so I suspect that for the next few months BG will be paying me rather than the other way round.

I have had communication from BG about it, was a few weeks ago now though. If you go into the app it tells you that you should choose a new tariff but when you go to do it, it basically says the EPG tariff is all they have to offer. Seeing as that is what they will put you on anyway, you may as well do nothing and just let it happen.

The bit that did confuse me was that the comparison of the existing vs new tariffs was more or less identical, on calculating it, the EPG calculation is correct and the old one is way out.

Surprised there's no posts on here as to what will happen tomorrow, when the great zero fixed tariff we've enjoyed comes to an end.

I haven't received any communication from BG about it

It will come as a shock to go onto the higher rates (which others have now got used to )
Nothing to say really, I'm grateful I had the deal (and the extra £60 from ombudsman) and will now move onto capped rates for my region as advised by BG via email and app.

I'm oil heating so the govt £400 will keep the lights on for quite a while even at the new rates 🙂
