Another one here on nov 23 for electric, going to move gas over as soon as the credit is added to the EDF account. They will move the gas to nov 23 as well once it transfers
Did a chat agent tell you they would?
    personally I think it’s a gamble.
you'll almost certainly have to risk a switch to a pricier tariff and then risk them saying it’s not available.
what if they shut the loophole completely?
ive done a formal complaint and they said they won’t be bound by errors by their chat agents even if you have transcripts.
Worst that can happen is I move and end up on  the cap with BG instead of EDF.

That's if they let you move the gas to the SVR tariff which isn't available on the quote screens rather than a much pricier fix that is.   Why wait for yout credit from Zog to appear on EDF anyway...it will be paid back to you eventually so I would thought trying sooner rather than later would be a better option?

Ask for a deadlock letter and go to the Ombudsman upon receipt, or after eight weeks if they don't send one.  That may make them reconsider.
I’ve got what I wanted (but thanks for your help).
i was merely passing on the information.
They said that would be the ombudsman’s position.
whilst I don’t take what companies say at face value, I personally don’t believe companies are bound by promises from staff who are mistaken.

its important for people to understand that when “Sanjay” says they can switch to a particular tariff that isn’t a guarantee even with the help of the ombudsman.
personally I’ve decided not to switch to an expensive tariff in the hope of getting a “loophole” I.e. unavailable tariff.
its possible they may catch on and close these down entirely.
    its therefore a financial risk.

    Are you certain about this?
    i.e. you’ve done a quote and checked?
if you’re just assuming that’s on offer than I’d advise checking.

Ombudsman just contacted me and the decision is a £50 apology and said BG don't have to move me to zero fix oct 22 tariff as it was only for ex Robin Hood customers, but I then told him my account had been showing oct zero fixed 22 tariff for last 14 days. He then said don't be surprised if BG change it which they have a right to do but after all the cases they have had with BG recently he agrees they haven't a clue what's going and I might be lucky and stay on it

Take screenshots and when you get the first bill, save the PDF version.

Bit of a dilemma here.......when I first tried to switch last year all I wanted was to get on the fixed tariff....they have offered £50 goodwill gesture but I'm already on the tariff. Now if I accept it Mr BG is going into my account to credit me £50 and will/might see I'm on zero oct 22 and might think wrong tariff I'll put him back on Standard Variable. If I decline the offer of £50 and don't appeal Mr BG might never look at my account and I stay on it until Oct, or if I decline it Mr BG might still switch me back to Variable tariff.

But at the end of the day I and a lot of others weren't entitled to that tariff and the t&c / small print will say we can change it

But as is becoming widely recognised, BG are in utter chaos and don't know what they're doing. If you were to go back to them and say "look I was on this tariff, here's screenshots and here's my bill, it must have been taken off by mistake, please put it back" odds are that they will.

In other news, my housemate is moving out and has just asked them on chat and has been told that she can indeed have it in her new home.

When I first raised a complaint I ended up agreeing to £30 credit as long as they moved me from Home Secure 2024 to SVT, I accepted the outcome and next thing I know my account is moved onto Zero Fixed October 2022.

However in your circumstances I'd just make a straightforward calculation, is staying on Zero Fixed till October is it going to save you more than £50? If yes, don't do anything (as in just don't reply at all). If not, take the £50.

If you do nothing and they randomly move you to SVT just go back to them and say "oi where's my £50?"
