    I reckon !!!!! BG gets more exclamation marks in posts than any other supplier.

    Tried to phone to get the gas switched but gave up after an hour in a queue !!!!!! as I had things to do. Will try again in a bit.
    I have no idea if this is possible (I'm not a BG customer) but can you switch your gas via the app or website / webchat?

    Not online unless you want to go onto one of their current ridiculous fixed tariffs....I looked.  You might have success on chat but I somehow doubt it.

    The website just says prices are high and stay with your current supplier. Chat (both website and app) need you to start the process on the website or phone. I’ll try first thing as the phone line agents finish at 5 and the wait at 4:30 was 30 mins.

    I’m not sure Chat is always open till 10pm for example now the chat button isn’t showing unless a glitch.

    If these are suggestions for me I’ve tried chat in a few different ways and transferred into different parts of it but always hit the same point which is they need you (or claim they do) to initiate the switch from a different supplier to BG yourself or, I’m hoping, over the phone verbally. I had the same thing in November when jumping from Neon Reef to BG, and yesterday when I got the switch to the better tariff and then asked about moving from EDF for gas; that was all good and the agent transferred me to the relevant team who ultimately confirmed I was with EDF (I didn’t tell them) but needed me to initiate via the website - I can’t see them voluntarily running the risk of losing that sale after saying it’s all good and looking to see the company I was currently with etc.

    Thx yes tried that already and without being logged in too but both times no chat button where it normally is (was there this afternoon but gave up as didn’t have time to wait in queue). Will try tomorrow.
