Think I will wait until my switch from NR is complete and then argue case at that point if zero fixed not applied as agreed via chat.0

If means what it appears to say then failure to get put onto Zero Fixed Oct 22 is not such a disaster (which it might be for those that switched to the much higher BG tariff before BG was announced as SOLR get stuck on that)0

"The next day (18 November) I emailed, as a precaution, the MD of British Gas (easy to Google his details) outlining my experience, and asking for a member of his team to contact me to confirm that my understanding from the Chat Advisor was correct"
The worst thing you could have done
I nearly took the plunge but it was obviously an error and I didn't fancy being stuck on a year+ fix at the top of the market. This is after all a money saving site and while we should absolutely share knowledge that helps people save, the savings do need to be legitimate and not based on accessing 'mistakes' which as we have seen here, can vanish between deciding to switch and actually completing the process. Some were asking why 'Martin' was ignoring this tariff and telling people to stay put for now... well, this is why...
If people want to spend months arguing with the BG or the Ombudsman then so be it. I don't think they'll win as I don't see this as being anywhere approaching a binding contract.
However as an ex-Neon Reef customer soon to be British Gas SOLR customer, I might try my luck when I get transferred2 -
Worst case scenario, if you signed up to an expensive fix hoping to get put on a more favourable one that is no longer available, you can always ask to be put on the standard variable tariff and have it backdated.2

I would prefer to do this which is a right rather than risk asking for a switch which could be argued about (even though I have transcripts).1 -
I asked about the Zero Standing Charge, to be told via chat it didn't exist. And given a link to the tariffs, I pointed out it was on that list. To which they then replied, that I hadn't moved to them yet, so they can't change the tariff anyway.
I take it then that my tariff should be NR until 01/12?0 -
Today's the last day of my cooling-off period. Has anyone had any luck recently?0

Ah, Schrodinger's tariff - apparently everyone has moved to it but no-one is actually on it.6
