Thank you Piggers, I am ok for frontline, cat litter thanks for the heads up, pets at home it is, seems online very cheap, so we will have trip there tomorrow, a bit of a drive to the nearest one, but they don't deliver cat litter it seems, it will also give us a day out, OH has sort of said he will buy them a cat tower, and see what else they need.OH's heap of stuff sorted, whoop whoopBreast Cancer Now 2022 100 miles October 100 / 100milesSun, Sea

Hi all
Productive day, 4 hrs paid stuff to finish off my hours for the week, everywhere has been dusted and hoovered, kitchen units and tiles wiped down, microwave cleaned, all clean washing put away. I did get some washing out for a while but its chucking it down now so the airer and dehumidifier have been deployed.
Thanks ASB. I have to work for an hour on Sunday as I am one of the organisers of our Remembrance Day parade, but otherwise nothing planned. We will try and get out somewhere tomorrow, DHs back permitting.
DS1 assures me that its just a cold, he says he is tucked up in bed with hot lemon, echinacea, paracetamol and vapour rub and hopes to be back at work tomorrow. Fingers crossed it doesnt develop into anything else.
Feet up with my book for a bit now.8 -

Don't get a cat tree from Pets at home.. they are extortionate and flimsy.. zooplus for those too, they are just a couple of days delivery. We get the really heavy duty ones for ours because they are big beasties. P@H do a tall scratching post which is great for bigger cats, it is £24 i think, I just replaced ours because it is shredded. register with P@H app and you gt money off vouchers, not a lot but they help, I saved £3.50 on my latest order.
We have cat litter delivered to store and bags of cat biscuits and pick them up as it is often out of stck and this guarantee's it is there. There are 2 here and one is right opposite OH's work. we are collecting 4x 30kg bags of litter and 2x 7kg bags of biscuits tomorrow, mine will only use the pink one! Hazel and Noz end up with pink toes! We have had it delivered before though. I've had a big stock up so we don't have to buy more in December and can buy necessary stuff. Their packaging for deliveries is absolutely appalling and regularly split. My mother had a delivery of cans of dog food one time and the box was overfilled and it was raining and the tins spilled all over the road.
I got an underbed storage drawer to use as a huge litter tray and a big tray from Amazon.. they kept getting in the normal size trays and 'missing' lol... I like the lidded ones but Nutkin has a kinky tail and he kept getting it trapped.
I also get the tubs of chicken livers from tesco, about 50p and I cook them and share them out for the occasional treat.. Nutkin goes mad for dreamies too.. I bulk buy those too.. and hide them because he wants to bulk eat them!Have you decided on furry names yet?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Good morning all,
GWS wishes to all poorlies and poorly flykids.
Awwww, Kaz, how exciting for you!
MIA yet again due to work and to inertia when I get home and it is so dark. Still, today is the first of 10 days off work so wooty woot and no excuses.
Today I need to run on lists. DH is going out later for the day, so I want to put my time to good use.First up, as ever, is cuppa, breakfast, and contemplate the day.
Round 2 flying will need to include:
demolish ironing pile
put away remaining shopping from Thursday’s Mr M’s delivery
run a load through the wm
vacuum LR (once DH has left for the day).
Have a lovely day all. Hugs to all xx8 -
Morning ladies,
I was up and in the shower at 6.30, so I have washed my hair and demolished two cuppas. Children, chickens and dog all fed and I have a white wash blowing in the breeze. Second load lined up ready to go in.
Today I need to cook a chilli for the freezer, get all the outside jobs done with the childrens' help and make fajitas for tea.
Have lovely days all x9 -
Morning all. Just for a change to recent events both dogs slept right through the night but I was up three times with a jippy stomach. Finally got up at eight so I'm currently sipping a glass of water.
I'm going to try to fly today as Littleydog is a little more mobile and doesn't quite need constant watching now.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Morning all.

So far today I have done some reading, eaten breakfast, hoovered all through downstairs, watered the houseplants, made DH's bed, scanned photos of my old school and sent emails to a couple of archivists. I'm still in my dressing gown!
Still to do today:
- shower and dress
- take all the rubbish out to the bins
- food shopping
- lunch
- meeting at 2.00
- Rosie's walk
- tea
- Strictly
- hopefully finish sorting the very last album of old family photos.
Best get going! (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round xx8 -
Morning xx
I'm not dressed yet but I have made my bed and supped a brew. Unfortunately I have worked out how to play tetris on my phone. Nuf sed.
Three days at work and I'm ready for another holiday. But, heyho, it pays the rent.
Round 1
Brew 2 and breakfast
Get dressed
Bring laundry hamper down
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Put away LTD pots
Sort washing into loads
Set first load swishing
Love to all.

I spend too much time playing solitaire Round.
Dailies are done. I have done some admin, prepped food for the dogs, put clean washing away, tidied my nails, walked the dogs and picked up car from garage popping into shop on way back. Bank account is now £700 lighter.
Just having a cuppa but think rest of day will be resting and reading. There is nothing pressing that can't wait a day or so.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
I'm so sorry I haven't been contributing. The past ten days have been tough. Our friend with MND died sooner than we'd all expected and it's knocked me for six. Her funeral is next Thursday; I think I'll be less emotional and volatile once we're through that. The house is sort of okay, although I haven't been able to muster the physical or mental energy to do anything for a few days. I'm sort of keeping on top of things but if continues it'll turn back into a tip, which I don't want. I was so gung ho at one point I got all of my sewing stuff down from the attic and spread it out to see what I'd got and all the sewing projects I'd planned and now can't fathom out what or how to deal with it. I just can't face any of it at the moment because I can't deal with any adversity at all; it just makes me feel instantly and completely defeated. This will pass but for now I'm not asking anything of myself other than the absolute basics.Piggers, I'm so sorry about that thug's attack on your mother. I hope she's recovering fully but it must have been very un-nerving for her. He needs to be found and stopped from hurting anyone else asap.Natty, I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all of the details involved in your mother in law's deteriorating health. ((Hugs)))Ionafan, how you manage to retain any level of patience with the various banks you have to deal with so endlessly, all of which appear to be staggerinly incompetent when it comes to community group admin, really impresses me. We go through the same trauma with one tiny group here every ten years or so and it never, ever gets easier. Why does it have to be so inexplicably difficult? I'm glad your DH is home, and well done for working out how to deal with the ancestors photographs - you've given me a really helpful idea because that's the only group of photos I still haven't sorted out yet. although I've never found another box I'm sure is lurking in the attic somewhere.Congratulations Kaz on the new family members. It sounds as though they're traumatised, poor little scraps, just like our two when we adopted them two or three years ago. We can still see some reactions and behaviours that are related to that unhappy time in their lives but they're very settled and happy with us now, and the breakages have thankfully stopped - one grandfather clock face-planted on the landing, one smashed Tower of London poppy .... I've never had a lot of faith in those scratching posts, so I bought a reel of very fibrous half inch rope from the Bay of E and wrapped it round a 1m tall 4x4 piece of wood and then cable tied that to a stair balustrade on the landing. It cost about £10 all in a few years ago for the still much missed Devil Cat. More recently I used another reel of the same rope to make a taller one to go on another balustrade half way up the stairs and ours use both for clawing, climbing, and just being up high. If you've got a branch of The Range near you they sell bags of woodshaving/sawdust that we use instead of cat litter and it's a lot cheaper. We remove the solids (if we don't the dog does, disgusting animal) and then put the pee-soaked wood shavings in the compost. Works a treat, makes fabulous compost with the kitchen waste in six weeks start to finish, and nothing needs to go to landfill except the solids - when we don't flush them down the loo.I'll be back in the swing of things as soon as I can.
Better is good enough.8
