Many congratulations to the proud parents! Photo? pretty please!
First part of my list for the day is completed, now off out with Rosie (and it's yucky cold and damp).8 -
Kaz Congratulations x
Pants drawer sorted and dailies done. I still have the lurgy so taking things slowly.9 -
Good evening
Kaz how exciting! But you can't post that and not let us see! 😁 They are lucky to have you. As they were hiding down the side of the bookcase, I assume we are talking cats? 🤔😂
Belated happy birthday wishes to Fayolle
I am unable to wait until the weekend, so I have started knitting 😁 I started last night, but went wrong & have started again. It doesn't help that I quickly hide it mid row if I hear someone coming! 😂 I managed to sneak 4 rows tonight!
The kitchen has been put to bed. I vac'd the LR after work (playing with lentils makes lots of mess, but it keeps the little darlings amused! 🙂). Clean washing FUPA - DS's was left on his bed so hopefully he has put that away! He is a lazy lump, but he is keen to keep his new room tidy! He also takes notice when I show him how to do things if I give a good reason why it works, and will keep doing it - if only DH would do the same! 😂
Hugs, sticks & spoons to those that need them. Night night all x

Sounds like you are going to have your hands full there Kaz!
Quick check in for me, work from home day to day but I do have to go out and meet a contractor. Just going to do my morning workout next then will try to get on with work in good time.
DH hoovered yesterday, I did some ironing and sorted some clean washing. Flying has been minimal but the house is fairly tidy.

Morning all. I have been up for 3 hours already, feeling definitely short-changed on sleep, which does not bode well for this evening when I have a synod meeting to attend, unless DH is home and needs help. He seemed very much better yesterday evening, but discharge today depends on this morning's blood test results.
When I went to see DH last night, he pointed out gleefully that the Occupational Therapist had provided him with a "perching stool" - a metal framed arm chair with a vinyl padded seat and tall, adjustable legs, similar to the first one on this page - to bring home and use when he's washing or shaving. It took a fair bit of effort for me to carry it out to the car (because of my shoulder injury, I have difficulty holding things out in front of me). I did think of turning it upside down and carrying it on my head, but...!!! Having got it home, I don't know where to put it. There is hardly any room to move in DH's bedroom, and the only place to stand the chair is just inside the door from the hallway (which already opens outwards to give maximum floor space in the bedroom), but it makes the entrance much narrower and my DH is not a small man. The ensuite (also with an outward opening door) is comfortable for his use but not big enough to accommodate the perching stool and leave space to move round it in order to sit down in the right position for the handbasin. There is plenty of space in the bathroom upstairs, but with his bad hip and bad heart DH can't manage the stairs safely. I think I shall have to phone the ward and ask the OT to ring me back, so that I can explain the difficulties and ask if a wooden bar stool (currently in DH's man cave) of the same seat height but with a much smaller footprint would be an acceptable substitute. I can see the perching stool being more trouble than it's worth.
I have used my 'extra' hours this morning to sort 5 large crates of family history books, papers and photos. I have decluttered enough stuff (destined for the bin or the CS) to remove one empty crate, whilst 2 of the crates contain photos which will soon be sorted and consolidated into proper archive-quality albums which I bought for that purpose long before my mother died (which was nearly 20 years ago). That's the plan, anyway! I have already started being ruthless about landscapes/blurred pictures/non-family portraits/umpteen duplicates (my mother had 6 sisters and they each had their own copy of everything), and the rubbish bin is filling up fast. Once I've decided which ones to keep, I shall probably make up a family history photobook and order a copy for for each of my grandchildren. That way, everyone will have a record of their genealogy. And of course there are copious records in the gedcom file from my family tree computer program, which can easily be copied. All this feels achievable, and I'm glad I've got it sorted out in my mind, even if it will take me months to get everything finished, including sorting all the boxes of printouts which are taking up far too much space on the shelves in my study.
In other flying news, the rest of the house has remained tidy since my marathon clean on Saturday, so I'm just aiming to maintain it like that for as long as possible. The garden needs attention but it's too wet to do much out there atm.
Sorry for the long post, but it's cleared my head. Hope everyone has a good day xx

I finished most of the chritmas shopping yesterday. I have 2 main items to buy for the small 2 and i ned to do a few bits for Twinkle and Pixie.. then Jacob.. then my youngest sister and something for my mother.. I am thinking a helmet after the head injury she does NOT need anything else happening. The police are looking for this cretin.. The stuff he is carrying he stole after almost killing my mother, he is wanted for attempted murder and carrying a weapon with intent to harm and various other lesser offences.. PoS ... he must live near here and we are hoping one of us comes across him first.. eyes peeled!
I've made a start on my mothers christmas shopping.. 22 people to buy for and I have done 7
Kaz congrats... your fluffers are just a bit older than my 6 loonies.. we got 4 litter mates, a rescue then a foster who is clearly staying forever.
Iona .. hugs for you and I hope DH is soon well
I am knitting Harry Potter hats and scarves .. I have 5 more to do, I've almost finished the 2nd scarf, I am also knitting a mitre square blanket from left over bits of DK, several earwarmers and a couple of additional hats and some cardies for Lionel and Miss Hee who has been DD1's friend for 14 years and expecting her first gremlin in the spring.. I am not getting much else done and my bedroom is still a sty.
We tidied the front room yesterday after putting it off for weeks it took about 20 minutes, not including vacuuming.
Dot has been awarded DLA so we are looking at a few bits which will support her in school and at home and specialist swimming classes.. this has opened a few possibilities for her and eased our financial crisis very slightly.
Love and hugs for everyone else. x

Piggers, can you share / send that photo to crime stoppers or similar / get it viral around your area on FB.Poppies done, plus the organizer came and restocked me, I've now run out twice.Cats fed, but they have not yet eaten, but they did eat over night, use the litter trays, and generally ran about the lounge, over night seems to be their thing, I guess that where they were removed from this was the best time for them.Kitchen is doneIroning to doBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Good afternoon all, very long time since I've been here
I've popped back to the forum as I've got a bloody letter of claim for a parking 'charge' I incurred at my old university flat in 2017 and I thought I'd poke my head in here too! These threads always got me doing some good housework. Today I have stripped our bed, done two loads of washing (a third nearly ready to go in), done the dishwasher and soon I'll go and hoover the upstairs. I must sort out the clothes in our back bedroom that my OH has taken to just dumping on the spare bed - there's an actual mountain of them
