Consider threatening the gym with bad reviews on Trust Pilot, Facebook, etc.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • If I end up at a dead end I will. I don’t think it’s really on the gym though. I’ll end up having to pay these. They sent the 1st one 3 months after the event though which is poor. If they’d have sent one out straight away I’d have realised, paid and never parked there again.
  • Doesn't the gym website say something about free parking ?    Is there a specific area very clearly marked out / chained off or whatever for members or not ?   If not use that, and the rest of the confusing signage,  to your advantage.
  • Yeah. The innovation website also says free parking. There’s a little to go at but not much. The gym car park is literally 10 yards away from it but a different access is needed from the retail park on the other side. It’s an easy mistake like - especially with the permit and free parking signage being similar

I agree, and you are not stuffed.  You don't pay the likes of this lot, for setting up two car parks next to each other with similar looking signs, such that people think the gym car park is all '3 hours'.  You can't be expected to read each and every sign if the bays look the same, the signs look the same and they haven't bothered to delineate the different areas with different block paving or colour of bay paint, and/or a barrier between to make it clear with a massive warning: 'this area is not free parking'.

I’ll end up having to pay these.
You won't, not on our watch!

Not just poor, . It means there is no keeper liability, as long as you don't blab about who was driving.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have also received 3 PCN’s through 14 and 17 weeks after contravention date parking here, no doubt I am about to receive more as I entered and parked same exact way/place atleast 10 times around the time of fine. I also admitted I was the driver when appealing  the PCNs obviously all were declined by VCS and IAS. I have had an email from the gym this week asking for details on all fines I’ve received up to now and they are trying to negotiate with the land owners, I’m assuming there receiving a lot of calls and complaints from customers whom have received these fines and they are now forced to do something as the first time I rang they weren’t very helpful. I have also been in contact with my MP. I have until this Monday 15th November to be able to pay the fines at £60 before they go up. So I’m just unsure what to do for the best as I don’t think I will have a response from the landowners by the gym/mp by Monday. Most frustrating thing about this whole matter is I attended gym in 2018 and I entered and parked same exact way as I have done when re joined in June 2021, was not aware the car park changed 2019. There Is no warning on the website instead they offer plenty of feee parking. I just do not want to not pay these fines and I end up ruining my credit score down the line as I am near ready to apply for a mortgage.
