Have some reading? The thread isn't that long.
Just wanted to thank members who advised worth trying to open a second reward account. Application excepted, switch due Monday, on course for first £5 reward and £125 already in the account.

    Cheers

  • When was the time that they were offering £125 for a switch and then something like an extra £50 something like 6 or 12 months down the line for various other criteria for a £175 total?

I remember that offer and it was the last one I had but couldn't for the life of me tell you the date as to whether it was before April 2020 or not. Pretty sure it was as i don't remember having any offer post-covid.

They had a £50 then £80 if you met certain criteria after 6 months in 2019.

Jeez. How far back was their £125 & £50 then? Surely not even further back than that?

I remember the amounts being somewhere in that region as it was a nice pay out for us. I got it for my account, the wife got her account and then I get a small amount from anything like this that I do for the rest of the family so it all added up nice.

    A second Reward opened.
The bonus received 4 days later, several days before the switch.
    The easiest bonus ever!

Is anyone having issues with switching? I've been trying since 11th November, must have tried 30 times and it always says there has been a problem. I've tried two different bank accounts to switch from (Natwest and Starling) and nothing.

Tried calling Halifax on several occasions but after going through security the automated message tells me they can't take my call and disconnects me

I have never had an issue switching before and it's starting to drive me nuts  :(

I had a problem switching, but I don't think it was for a related reason.

However, through that I did discover the Halifax switch team (who also do Lloyds and BOS) only work 9-5 Monday to Friday and outside of those hours there is nobody who can take calls.

I also discovered that pressing '0' (zero) when you get into the automated security process will bypass the rest of security and put you straight through to an advisor, if one is available.  Doing that saves the palaver of responding to security questions only to be cut off in the way you describe.

I'd also suggest you consider making a complaint using the general customer services number, if nothing else but to log the fact you have attempted to start the switch before the offer closes, making sure you get a complaint reference number.
