I received an email from EDF stating that my tariffs were attached. They were not and I sent an email to that effect. Their reply was that I would receive a reply within 2 days. I am still waiting for the tariffs.
Wasn't this type of response or lack of it that many people transferred to Utility Point etcetera in the first place?

My Welcome to EDF email doesn't mention anything about attachments.  Perhaps you received a different email to me, I don't know.

If you created an account with EDF, then log in your EDF account on their website and on the left hand side navigation bar click on Account activity.  If you can't find it, here is a direct link: https://my.edfenergy.com/myaccount/activity

Once you are in account activity, you should see your EDF contract with the prices on   I have downloaded mine for convenient reference.

Trust me to be in the (less than!) 10%!

And yes, I also went to UP for lower prices...not though it lasted long!
I suspect rather more than 10% of customers will be bemoaning the fact that they’re in the last 10%.  It rather depends how far you can trust EDF’s 90%, and what’s meant by ‘started their transfer’, which sounds like one of those meaningless phrases the government uses when it’s trying to fiddle a target it’s promised to achieve.
  • Yes, I suspect you're right! Oh well, it'll happen when it happens, makes not a lot of odds one way or another now!

It's possible that EDF are already counting you in the 90%. I got my first non-generic email from EDF, with my new account number, on 19/11/2021, but when I log in to my account, since yesterday, I now see 2 progress bars, Electricity and Gas, each with 4 stages, (1) Switch started (2) Switch in progress (3) Meter reading (4) Switch complete. I am at stage (2) for Electricity, (3) for Gas.
Both switches have dates underneath, 26/11/2021 for Gas, but 15/11/2021 for Electricity, so 4 days before I had heard anything specific to me from EDF. I guess EDF viewed that my account had "started [its] transfer to EDF" on 15/11/2021, even though I knew nothing about it until later.

Hopefully you will get your account number from EDF soon.
  • I've got account/email envy now @Detail_Merchant  Still just the generic ones here! If I had to guess I'd say our massively low use makes us very low priority!

  • Update here - no further contact from EDF, but my Utility Point DD has vanished from my online banking, no sign of a replacement EDF one yet though.

I think there was about a week for me between the UP DD disappearing and the EDF one appearing. I think my email with EDF a/c no came around the same time the EDF DD appeared, but that's from memory, not records.
  • The progress of my switch seems to have stalled. The last communication was 19 November, and the EDF website shows stage 3 of 4 for both gas and electricity, which it has done since around the same date.

I'm guessing stage 4 means EDF have the final billing and details of any credit balance from Utility Point and currently EDF say they are working with the administrators to get to this stage.

Does this tie in with other's experience of the switch status?

I suspect there's a strong link between these posts.  EDF look to be being, what shall we say, creative with the spin they're putting on progress, presumably to impress the regulator and hoodwink the public into believing that EDF have it all in hand.
  • Can EDF proceed further without getting closing readings (and closing balances?) from UP?

I'd be uneasy blaming them for things outwith their control.
