@CRISPIANNE3 I think if you mean you have physically cancelled the DD at your end then that means EDF will not have been able to transfer it - this is why their emails have asked people not to cancel. You may have to spend a month on pay monthly while you get a new one sorted out.
My DD still shows on my online banking as UP currently, so I guess we're still a way off being amongst the transferred accounts.
Interesting how different people read things as well - I've not seen any "defence of EDF" here - just a lot of folk trying to explain how the SoLR process works, to some others who seem to think it shouldn't apply to them, only to the rest of us. Also, I've never seen Martin Lewis suggesting that folk should make vexatious complaints either - but again, perhaps that's just a different reading of the information provided...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Also just checked my gas meter and I have only used 16 units since the 6 September. We've had installed two multi stove burners hence the reason the usage is so low and of course the mild weather.1 -
I'm a little puzzled.
I received an email on 12 November inviting me to set up an EDF account, which I did.
But the details once logged in appear to relate to a conventional energy switch, claiming a transfer date for electricity of 4/11 and for gas of 17/11. I'd be happy for them to charge me their rates only from these dates, but I suspect I shall be disappointed. It is rather misleading.
Today (16/11) they emailed me for a gas meter reading, required before 24/11. No mention of wanting an electricity meter reading.
The email stated I could download the app, as this was the easiest way to manage my account, or I could log on and do it via thir website.
I downloaded the Android app, logged in and selected meter readings, but it would not allow me to enter one. It displayed a button which said "Wait for notification".
Logging on to the website, the page for entering a gas reading was there, ready for me to do so. Puzzling and a little worrying that the app and website are clearly picking up data from different sources.
And someone mentioned above a difference in the credit balances on the UP website where the summary page was showing differently to the statement page. The balance on the summary page for my account has shown £0 for months, regardless of the true figure.
The correct figure (by which I mean the actual credit after the last issued statement, which was in August, plus subsequent direct debit credits) is shown on the statement page.0 -

It does look like EDF bodge the transfer process by trying to shoehorn it into their standard switching process.
Todays email asking for a reading is boldly titled "Time for your opening meter read"
One thing it most definitely is not is an *opening* reading, but they say it is.
I hope that if they use this as an opening reading it doesn't cause problems when they try to use my earlier UP closing reading to adjust the account, or apply my UP credit...0 -

IIRC there have been odd occasions when a figure other than £0 was shown on the summary page, but this is most definitely the exception and has certainly not been the case for the last 12 months or more. It's not something I've ever worried about; I just put it down to sloppy programming because the correct figure appears on the statements.0 -

Another update today (16 Nov) on the EDF web-site at https://www.edfenergy.com/content/welcoming-utility-point-customers:
- Transfer of customers to EDF is well underway. Nearly 220,000 Utility Point accounts have started their transfer to EDF. We're working hard to get you over as soon as possible. The great news is we're over halfway through these transfers now.
What 'over halfway through' means in practice isn't clear.
