  • Hi all just rang EDF up again to chase why I haven’t heard anything about my final bill from utility point I’m told it’s not there problem. After lots of complaining she goes off comes back tells me I will be receiving a paper final bill in post 🤷‍♂️ . Am I the only one that hasn’t received my final bill yet ?.Why is no one taking responsibility for this big cockup , ofgem seems completely useless in my opinion.

Ofcom is completely useless. Likewise EDF, who are also incompetent and quite happy to tell a pack of lies to the Energy Ombudsman in order to block complaints from being raised.  Ofcom appointed the dubious outfit that runs the so-called Energy Ombudsman service, but take no responsibility for is failure to investigate this shambles properly.

I was waiting for a final bill from UP ( had a £300 credit so was keen to see it!)  and then their website closed, about a week later I had an email to say my final bill was ready (but a bill wasn't attached to the email) - which directed me to their defunct website.

At a loss, I then contacted EDF via their WhatsApp channel (which took a few hours between replies), and thankfully managed to get them to email me a copy. The credit had been transferred so happy days.

Still waiting for my first bill from EDF.
  • Yes I’ve been with EDF since utility point went under and on the utility point website says I’m on EDF welcome tariff yet EDF seems to not know what’s going on with our bills.

Have you tried logging in at https://portal.utilitypoint.co.uk/Account/Login to see if there is a final statement there?

It's a legacy page, inaccessible from the main website, and I don't think it's being updated. Certainly in my own case despite having just had an email telling me that the final bill's ready, it's not there and the page hasn't changed in weeks.

Useful to know - As the main UP website closed after my last statement was generated I wouldn't expect to see any further change on my account, but if it's now frozen at the point where UP closed their web-site then it's not so useful for people still waiting for their final statement.

I just checked my var tariff with EDF and according to them they have already implemented the increase:

Gas unit rate: 7.476p per kWh
Daily standing charge: 27.22p per day

I thought nothing would change until 1 April. Has anyone else had their tariff updated already?

Yes, there is a thread about it here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6335378/edf-welcome-variable-kwh-rate-change-before-april

It's definitely being updated.  I've just had an email from Utility Point telling me that a statement was ready to view in my portal.  Though they didn't provide a link (that I could see), I used the link earlier in this thread to promptly download the final statement.
I don't like how Utility Point have billed me for both their usage and my usage with EDF up until the end of November.  Surely EDF should be billing me for their costs, not Utility Point? Either way it's settled up until the end of November and I will be making sure that EDF don't try to bill me twice for the same period.
