EDF welcome variable kWh rate change before April
Options
Has anyone else logged into their EDF account and noticed the electric unit rate has gone up to 29.24p per kWh standing charge 37.92p before April price cap changes ?.Gas rate is now showing 7.344p per kWh standing charge 27.22p per day. I rang EDF who said it must be a computer glitch , but was showing it on her system as well perhaps @ EDF could explain please ?.

You might have a long wait if you are expecting someone from EDF to respond to your post? There are very few supplier reps on this forum these days.1

We've been discussing it on the ex-Zog thread. A couple of MSErs have contacted EDF CS and it seems to be an IT cop-up; they've been told the change won't take effect until 1st April.

Guess they have to update online at some point, but as long as it correct on your bill.0

At least it stops the speculation as to how much you’re going to be charged come April1

Answer EDF gave me via Twitter this time last year - "The new rates are there already for comparison purposes so you can choose the best tariff for you moving forward"

Well I rang EDF as I noticed the change which seems strange plus I wanted to change from budget direct debit which is billed 6monthly to direct debit monthly billed . But the EDF rep said it was going to charge me the 29.24 kWh on her system from today, even though she said it was a system glitch. So I’ve kept budget monthly direct debit but ordered a bill which I was told I could but have to ring every month for the bill.I also asked about my utility final bill which EDF seems to be passing the blame onto utility point.Soon be 6 months the administrators have had my credit money .0

smileguy said:Soon be 6 months the administrators have had my credit money .There is no credit money. All there is is a number in their billing system thas tays how mugh you are in credit. That number (no money) will be passed to EDF, who will credit your account by that value them claim the money back from Ofgem, who will in turn claim it from all of us as part of our bills.N. The rate doesn’t change if you pay by budget direct debit or variable direct debit so not sure why the rep even mentioned the rates, sounds like they have updated the rates on their system but some of the reps don’t understand this.0

Well she was going to change me to variable direct debit but the system was going to charge me the new rate of 29.24p per kWh so I told her to keep me on budget direct debit but to generate a bill from November until now.As 6 monthly bills is ridiculous now when energy prices are changing so much .0
