  • That link provided previously is still useable - I've just logged in from it to double check - everything still there, and you are still able to see statements etc.

Yes I’ve been with EDF since utility point went under and on the utility point website says I’m on EDF welcome tariff yet EDF seems to not know what’s going on with our bills.
Have you tried logging in at https://portal.utilitypoint.co.uk/Account/Login to see if there is a final statement there?
It's a legacy page, inaccessible from the main website, and I don't think it's being updated. Certainly in my own case despite having just had an email telling me that the final bill's ready, it's not there and the page hasn't changed in weeks.

I don't like how Utility Point have billed me for both their usage and my usage with EDF up until the end of November.  Surely EDF should be billing me for their costs, not Utility Point? Either way it's settled up until the end of November and I will be making sure that EDF don't try to bill me twice for the same period.
I was a bit wary about that too - although my account review date with EDF (quoted as May) does suggest that they've taken a straight 6 months past the point I have already been billed for, so fingers crossed it will all work out OK.

  • How have you managed to get final bills? I’ve still not heard anything from utility administrators and EDF don’t seem to want to help recover my credit even though they told me to carry on paying direct debit .I wouldn’t have paid my direct debit if I knew it was going to utility point and it would take all this time and still no time limit when I will  get my credit back.

All I can say is to just be patient.  You will get your final statement eventually.
EDF told me that any credit due could take another couple of months to appear.  But by the time Utility Point had also charged for my usage with EDF, there wasn't much change leftover!

I contacted EDF using their WhatsApp chat and had my final bill from Utility Point emailed to me. Have you tried doing this?

That bill showed my credit balance - I have just had my first EDF bill and that shows the credit balance carried over.

As a matter of interest, when did you receive your first EDF bill?

I understood they only billed every six months, and mine appears to be scheduled for sometime in May, which ties in with the final UP bill covering to November. and they appear to actively dissuade users from submitting unsolicited meter readings.

Not sure if it will be of any use, but I plan to submit readings on 31 March to ensure they don't short change me over the higher capped rates from 1 April...

The EDF bill covered the period 1.12.21 - 04.02.22, the bill itself was dated 12th Feb (I guess that was the 'generation' date) and I had an email from EDF to say I had a bill only yesterday. Logged in and there it was.

To be fair I have been submitting readings quite regularly (that could have auto-generated a bill) as I have no faith that their estimated readings will be accurate, and I'm on a smart meter (!)

[edit] My final Utility Point bill covered period 3.9.21 - 30.11.21, which was split between 3.9.-17.9 (the date of EDF taking over) and 18.9.-30.11.

Had an email saying it was there, logged in (via the portal link given earlier in the thread) and there it was. Definitely no sign of any bills from EDF themselves yet though - they seem to be too busy playing silly beggars with the DD I keep trying to increase!

  • I’m beginning to think EDF is pretty useless as I asked for a bill over the phone which you can apparently every month even when on budget direct debit. They billed me from 26/11/2021 to 12/02/2022 , I submitted readings on 26th yet they used electric reading which they said was theirs  impossible  as they haven’t read my meter and  a gas estimate  , both readings different to the ones I submitted to them.cheers valmiki I will try WhatsApp chat thanks.
  • Was trying to chase up my Utility Point refund cheque from EDF today (I left EDF after September 18th for another supplier)

The agent on chat said there is currently still no EDF account under my name but he also said that a dummy one will be set up at some point as part of the refund cheque process

The amount of time this is taking to sort out is getting a bit ridiculous now - 5 months and counting

I wish there were some rules as to the maximum amount of time allowed to handle a SoLR hand over

My final UP statement arrived 27/28 December, but my EDF account wasn't credited with the balance until almost a month later, 26 January.
So if your UP statement was early February, I guess the EDF credit might not be on their books until early March, and after that there will still be a wait for how ever long it then takes them to actually post you a cheque.

It does seem to have been really slow. I think maybe Ofgem have been in a bit of a weak negotiating position re the surviving energy suppliers taking on customers from the failing ones. But it shouldn't take this long.
