I can't imagine that a LL making a large claim for molehills on a lawn is going to get very far with a deposit protection scheme ruling.
As a tenant I wouldn't bother too much for the moment as the moles may have moved on by the time you leave.  If not, in your last few weeks there, rake out the mole hills or flatten them with a spade and maybe sprinkle a bit of grass seed around.

Thank you I am prone to worrying I really try to look after the lawn with two big dogs and the mole is causing me grief.

Lets hope you hear back soon then from the estate agent.

After looking at the price professional mole catchers charged we declined.
With patience and perseverance you can catch them yourself for very little outlay. Here's a five pack of traps for £15.
Carefully investigate the hole to see which way the tunnel goes then dig a small space along the same path, place and set the trap, cover with a slate or similar and wait...
My girlfriend caught loads this way (much to the appreciation of a family of crows we've had for years) but these days our Doberman does the job instead; the only downside is the dog digging makes a much bigger mess of the grounds than the moles ever did!
Every generation blames the one before...

There are lots of ways to try getting the moles simply to move elsewhere, which don't involve killing them.   Try:

However, as Martin and I said before, all you need to do under the tenancy agreement is make good the damage done by the moles.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

You can make a mole chaser out of a plastic milk bottle. Hardly a big outlay, so maybe worth a try.

OMG this brings back memories of mole hills.

I remember my dad standing poised with a garden spade and waiting for the mound to move then bopping it like a game a whack-a-mole!

My gran also used to go and chat to the moles and ask them if they wouldn't mind digging up the neighbour's lawn instead.

The traps were generally successful though.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
