Moles!

Yeah sounds like moles. Rat holes can be dug anywhere. In the lawn, borders, especially going under a fence. Rats usually run the same route so that tends to leave a track leading to a hole. If they have been using the same runs for a while or if there is lots of them you can usually smell their urine too. They also leave very wet area's in long grass, bushes etc where they use urinate. You can sometimes see the poo pellets too, but no always.1

I'm also not keen on housework, but you are taking it to extremes. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?3 -

Ah, the joys of country life....Deffo moles from your description. You'd know if you had a rat issue- you'd almost certainly see them. As for the moles, I'd just enjoy having them if you can.1

We used to have moles when I was s kid. I remember my mum having one climb out and into her hands.
Timing was spot on. Cute little things but an absolute pain to the garden.
Don't really see how the landlord could hold you responsible1 -

Where we used to live there were beautiful fields at the end of the road. We had a lovely big old chocolate lab, she was a proper nosy/inquisitive/friendly.One day she dug down through a mole hill and jabbed her head in - and came out with a mole on her face! Blood everywhere, she was yelping and howling, it was horrific. She was a much changed dog after that 🙁I oppose genocide. I support freedom of speech. I support freedom of assembly.0

I'd love the fox!! wouldn't want the slugs or wood lice in my house, get enough of them in the garden. How do you get slugs in your lounge?! I'm ok with rats.
