Well done Victory. It's good to read someone has had a fantastic week.
I've been good so far tonight (going to bed soon!!!)
I'll weigh in in the morning and let all you lovely and funny people know how I get on.Need to sort my life out! :T0 -
I did consider lighter than life or cambridge but apart from the financial aspect i enjoy food too much (not in terms of over indulgence) cooking and eating......
A colleague of mins has lost half his body weight in about 5 months but he was a big guy
Hi Sweet1
Alot of people on here seem to be SW and WW. I am a Rosemary Conley convert - not that I have ever been to any of the classes. I have only followed the books and magazines.
What I like about RC is that it is real food that the whole family can eat, so I only have to cook one meal. The kids and OH add grated cheese and butter to dishes and bread, whilst I only add a sprinkle of parmesan or eat bread with no butter.
Because you have to eat a breakfast, am snack, lunch, pm snack, tea and evening snack there's no time to get hungry. You can also have a 'treat' once a day of whatever you want, limited to approx 100 cals.
I also like the easy and quick recipes, some are available on the website. The kids can join in the cooking and have learnt about healthy eating and portion sizes.
Good luck with your choice of diet.

Well, my first week of 'maintaining' and I have a 1lb gain to report
I'm not going to panic
But I might if it goes up again next week. I will have to review my new slightly higher calorie intake.

My method? Well atm Ive not really got one.
As it was Id go work and have brekkie at about 1030, Bacon butties of course as I just cant eat before 10am, it makes me feel sick. Obviously I wasnt hungry at dinner so snacked at 2pm ish. Again, because of that time I wasnt hungry come tea time, So I ate at 8pm ish, Full meal.
Never drank water, Not beer drinker either tbh though, Just fizzy pops. Never ate fruit unless it was skittles but I have always worked manual and always up and about, I wouldnt class myself as a slob.
Now though since last tuesday Ive ate fruit for breakfast, Like a ham salad barm etc for lunch (at 12noon) and have tea like Spud or pasta at proper time too. Still not drinking enough water, Eating loads of fruit, Yoghurts etc. I am to step up the exercise bit and start jogging, more golf etc this week and going to still change what Im eating, ie, the salad barms will become brown bread etc, I dont take sugar, always have had the green milk but will change to red. My missus lost alot of weight last year and is now telling me to have a treat day, Ive got no intentions though of that, Ive not craved anything like the bacon etc Im determined to make this happen.
On tuesday last week 01-01-08 I weighed in and have had a long week before next weigh in, Im waiting til Saturday this week and then will go every Saturday from there on. Im soo curious if Ive lost anything.
ok dude. First things first - your missus is right in my opinion. People do need a break from it. More diets (I hate that word) are broken because people try too hard than any other reason. People try too hard, think they have to watch every mouthful, think I can't hack a lifetime of this" and give up. A formulated weight loss plan like SLimming World or Weight Watchers would keep your weight loss at a sensible and sustainable level and also provide you with enough leeway to enjoy a level of your weaknesses in the meantime. If you went that route, I'd suggest weight watchers for two reasons - firstly, it's quite kind to us fellas (we get 6 points extra just for having a mid-body appendage) and secondly with your weakness being bread then it's quite forgiving for bread, whereas Slimming World kills you for it. Weight watchers is much stricter on pasta and rice though. Also, having a plan to follow focuses the mind. Food becomes something you think about, not something you shove in your mouth. You don't necessarily need to go to classes - a lot of us here follow the points plan without paying. If you didn't fancy that though, do give yourself a treat - we need something to look forward to
My wife wants to know "Why May 13th?". And I play off 25, but it's a very tough home course0 -
funkyfunkymonkey, brill! Thank you for the link, you've just made my evening! I'm right on the underfat border of the "healthy" range if my scales are to be believed!
jillie1974 - well done! A full 1lb is great! Delly congrats on your just small gain too and on beating your friend
Bargain babe - I'm so sorry to hear what happenedYou poor thing, that's just awful for you. Keep us posted and I hope you get back to normal soon.
Hello Bluecorn, welcome! Males are definitely under represented here, hope the girl talk doesn't put you off! So what's special about 13 May?
Broke mum of three, welcome to you too! No you don't need to state your weight, nobody has to state anything unless they want to.
Got to dash - I might not be on here as much over the next few days so good luck everyone who's still to weigh in.0 -
Evening all!
Victory, I am pleased for you that all your very hard work has paid off (and I too am relieved for Mr V). Please trust in yourself and your ability to keep within a margin of your goal weight, you deserve to be slim AND happy.
Welcome to Bluecorn and Broke Mumof3 (over from 4K?), happy to have you here! It's great to have a new bloke on board, the boys need all the help they can getI dont know what your choice of fizzy pop is Bluecorn but I know a v simple lemonade recipe that might just help if you're interested.
FFM, DON'T PANIC - it will be okay, it's only one tiny eensy weensy lb. You've probably just banged your leg on the 10kg rice sack in your hallway and put on a lb of bruise
Oh damn, OH is calling and I've only just got on here; he's feeling neglected bless him! Sorry not to be able to finish posting, hugs to bargain babe for the break in, how horrible. Will be on in the morning for WI so catch you all then! xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Warm welcomes to broke mum and bluecorn - it would be great to have another bloke here bluecorn. It sounds like you've made a good start. Keep posting here for inspiration and hopefully some laughs and I'm sure we can learn from you too. Broke mum -you don't need to tell us your starting weight!:D What would be good to know is what your goal is and how you hope to go about achieving it. If you and bluecorn want to join our monthly 5lb challenge, just say so: you need to post you weekly weight loss each week and it'll be picked up by whoever is doing the chart (me this month) and posted on wed evening. It's just a helpul motiavtion tool, to break down large amounts into smaller achieveable goals. This is a great forum offering loads of support: do stick with us.
You are right FFM - too soon to panic. As you say, next weeks result may show you where you need to trim, or not. Sorry about the break in Bargain babe - how terrible. Not a bad gain for the worst 2 weeks of the year. There's good evidence from last weeks chart that peeps have put a little on and are now refocusing for the new year and it's coming off no problem.
Beanie - that's a great result given you felt you ate for Scotland.:T
QT, it's fine to weigh when ever you like - but make sure it's the same sort of timeof day each week or you won't be comparing like with like, as we all weigh more at the end of the day compared with the beginning. I need results by 6pm on wed, unless you let me know you'll be a bit late.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
