Ajax, I have a fortnightly box from Abel and Cole. I like the unexpected variety and the fact that I can choose in advance what NOT to have. I find the fruit and veg all go off much more quickly than organic supermarket produce but that's just an incentive to eat it all up.

Pet How lovely to see you back!

..... sounds good to me. How do you find it, value-wise? I'd be happy to give them a call and say that I forgot to put your name as my referrer if you like?

So, does WW have like a "minimum weight" (or BMI?) at which you can join? I didn't know that.

.......I dunno, but SW does. From memory (so please forgive me if I'm wrong) you are not allowed in if you are less than 7lb above a BMI of 20.

    Rharni welcome:j :j

hannab :j :j :j well done on your weight loss:D

AJAX being hard on myself gets results, tomorrow will show that, I am very confident it will:D

Did you read in the papers that 200,000 people a week are going down with this 48 hour virus? Crumbs that is a lot of people, it says it takes 2 days to get over and they advise another 2 days to stay at home so it does not spread further

    Morning all!

Victory, thanks again for the info, I did think an extra 250 sounded a lot so I'm glad you agree. I've been noticing that you and I sound quite similar in our outlook... and I get told to lighten up on myself a lot too ;) Well done on all your efforts this week, really hoping it pays off for you!!! 28,000 steps a day is a LOT!

Please do not beat yourself up if the whole 5lb isn't gone though, 5lb in a week is such a tall order. 3.5lb in a week is my "personal best" and I even had weeks where I was consuming 700-1000 cals/day and exercising hard some 12-16 hours! (Turns out this was counter productive...:o)

As for that article about throwing out your whole past when you reach goal weight, I agree with it except the photos. There are so very few pictures of me anyway, and those that do exist are of me and my son together, so they may be precious to him one day. I'm not going to deprive him of that just because I think I look like a weeble :rotfl:

New clothes, new food habits, changes of style and image, definitely. I also think it's important not to forget or gloss over the hard work and effort that went into the weight loss. I take a lot of pride in what I've done and I don't want to just strike it off. Interesting article - thanks for sharing. I did read about this virus too - scary stuff. Keep healthy folks, lots of hand washing :D

QT2006, glad your new scales were kind to you!

Emmalis, looking good for this week, I can just imagine you dancing around with your feather duster, hehe! :D

Welcome Nicky29, good luck with SW, that 1 stone should be gone in no time! Keep us posted. Hello Rharni, glad you found us! I am having better success with (obsessive) calorie counting than earlier on when I was using guesswork. As BB said, there are people here who have lost huge amounts of weight, and we are very much a team. Nice to have another Monday weigher too!

Petrichor, glad you're back, we missed you!

Bails, meal planned for a whole month! Wow! I just about manage to do mine a day in advance! Hope you're having fun plotting and planning your MSE strategy. Addictive isn't it ;)

Gpuk, when willpower gets low... hmm... I just ask myself what do I want more, the food or the figure. For me it's always the figure, but if I was tempted to go for the food, I'd earn the extra calories first. In MSE terms rather like saving for something first than putting it on credit and paying later, if that makes sense! Your 20lb in 20 weeks is a really good, achievable pace, and you should only need fairly minor changes to reduce your intake by about 500 cals per day and/or exercise more. Good luck!

Julesgr, thank you for the update. So sad :( It's so difficult to make important decisions at a time of grief and especially if there are differences of opinion in the family. Thanks for keeping us posted, we're here for you.

Anic, I've searched and cannot find anything to support this theory that cup sizes GROW as a result of losing weight  I definitely wasn't hearing things though! Mine have shrunk. Does anyone have the nerve to ask their WW or SW consultant about this? (The person who said this to me was an ex-WW leader).

HannaB, 3lb in your first week is FAB! Congratulations! You can weigh on whichever day you choose, but results are compiled for the chart on Wednesdays.

Ajax - lol! I would have been giggling about that for at least a day and a half. What a miserable lot.

KPC, have fun shopping. It's not just the reduced reindeers you have to steer clear of, they probably have the Easter chocfest aisle up and running by now too

Well replying to that lot was one way of killing some time before weigh in :p

    I'll be back :D

Ive finished my assignment. its over 7000 words, but 3000 of that is in the appendix, but im still about a 1000 over wordcount for the main body. Im not doing anymore today cos im bored of it.

Instead, im going to revise about the European Union. So, if anyone knows about The monetary union... :p I wouldnt wanna bore you all again.

Oh, i have some BAD news. Family meal tomorrow at CAFE DE CHINA. So its going to be FAT FAT FAT all the way and back home again, with Wine and ohh god, its orgasmic. Although maybe i should skip wine, last time i went out with my boyfriends family for a meal i had a bit too much wine and shouted out testicle which was more embarassing on reflection rather than at the time :p No wonder they think im bad for him! Im going to do major step work today and general running around the house to make sure im -calorie by the end of today.

Hope everyones eating all the normal boring stuff of nuts, salad and water :p

    Morning all

Firstly, come on you Hatters!! :D

Trust we all had a good weekend, it felt realy odd not been able to play rugby :(

Just getting ready to head to a meeting, so all suited and booted. Had a big bowl of porridge for breakfast, as doubtful I will get lunch, taken a slim soup just in case.

How are we all, nice to see Ajax and Victory comparing gains ;) then there is missyg bemoaing her bust size dropping (anything more than a mouthful??? ;)) evidently it can help lol

HannaB well done on your first week loss, great result that :)

Ajax as much as I share your liking for the redhead in Girls Aloud, boy is that smile looking awful :D

KPC and Ajax, not sure about "bring it on" though I think I have seen must of it, with the daughters. However I was in the gym yesterday evening and on Channel5 was "Man of the House" Which stars Tommy Lee Jones and a group of Cheerleaders  Plotline..... "Tommy Lee Jones stars as a Texas Ranger who must protect a group of cheerleaders who have witnessed a murder" From what I saw, about 10mins worth, It could be worth further investigation ;)

Victory, totally argee, been hard on yourself does get results, been too hard on yourself makes things differcult to maintain. :)

Welcome and Hello to Rharni and Nicky29 Welcome to the friendly bunch of losers :j

Pet hope your well and feeling good, welcome back

Pixiedust, I was a former hooker in my younger days when my knees were better, I doubt I could survive there now. I might have a look at going loose as well as tight to open up the options. What do you think?? ;)
Raphael Belated birthday wishes :bdaycake: try not to wory about the slight gain, we are all allowed to celebrate and enjoy ourselves from time to time :) Hope you had a fantasic time.

Daughters sweet 16 went well, she got a giggly with me, a sign of sure embarassment :) As well as the presents, including one sensible one, I gave her some vouchers for her to take her mates to pizza hut, I think she enjoyed herself :)

Right best I get in that car and drive 160 mile round trip :)

    See you all later

At the start of the first chemistry lesson I took a seat and the lecturer said "Guys, this is Martin. Martin, we're just looking into the structure of polymers at the moment. An example of a polymer would be PVC - you've come across PVC?"
I just had to. "Yeah, but it wipes off really easily, so no problem". I thought it would get at least a mild chuckle, nice ice breaker etc, but no. Absolute silence fell across the room for a good 10 seconds and the lecturer gave me one of those looks which said 'Im going to kill your pets'. I wished I could have just disappeared.

:rotfl:Did the tumbleweed tumble?? Did the world stop still for a few seconds :rotfl:I share your pain
